Top Tier causes Guilt?

Play whoever the you want, but don’t bitch. It’s annoying, and my water bottle can’t catch every salty tear I milk out of the scrub’s eyes.

Then how do we compare balance between games? Also, 3rd Strike only slightly newer than VSav and we don’t see any of the low tiers winning in tournaments now do we - in fact, as the meta-game has become more developed and folks got better, the game has arguably gotten even more stratified.

Whoa whoa whoa, low tiers in Vsav are hard as fuck to win with. Try playing Jedah vs John Talbain, and not punch a hole through the roof. Anak vs nearly everyone in the game is annoying. I can’t tell you how many times i almost beat MightyMar becuase he can’t push me away when i am locking his shit down.

As i said, I’m basing it on Japanese tournament results where low tiers in VSav apparently have a better chance at winning than say, low tiers in 3rd Strike or MvC2.

I’ll admit that I used to be a victim of the ‘scrub mentality’ in that I thought using low tiers made you cool and all that. Take MvC1 for example, I didn’t use Colossus because used to think that he was ‘cheap’ and that I was being original using other helpers. Getting rid of that mentality is arguably the most freeing thing I’ve done as a fighting game player, and now I have no problem tailoring my gameplan to be as effective as possible.

That said, I do think that character loyalty above all else should stand out in who you play. There are plenty of top-tier characters that I would never use out of the sheer fact that I don’t like how they play. If I’m playing someone I like I’ll put in more work with them.

Do you know how retarded you are being?

Sean is easier win with in 3s since Sean has he has all the options that all the other characters have even more has Sean has the shoto normals and a great universal overhead, Parries, and i will say decent damage.

Anak has no way to deal damage, Anak doesn’t have universal options, Anak can’t even throw.

edit: Lucky has an easier time winning in Classic 98 then Anak cause Lucky can zone and has good normals.

Doesn’t matter, Sean tries to get in on Chun and Chun just beats him out on priority and out-pokes him. Once Chun has meter, it’s arguably game over for Sean.

I mean, compare win-loss ratios as well as the distance from top to bottom of 3S to that of VSav.

Sean’s easiest matchup is Remy, a 5:5. Also, win/points wise, he’s at 54 compared to Chun who’s at 120. That’s a pretty huge gap compared to what we have in VSav.

Hardly anyone plays Sean.

Edit Mightymar just reminded me that jwong won with sean.

So you’re saying that it’s simply because 3rd Strike players just tier whore too much?

Yes, why learn the game link into a super for half life with chun.

Also nice edit

play who you want. If you’re playing a character that you believe is bad (or mediocre), then do so because you find it fun. If winning is fun, then use a top tier.

I usually don’t like playing bad characters, because I get jelly of all the cool swag the high tiers have. Good is the fighting game that has fun low tiers.

So for the next topic on this can we call it “Top tier causes people to quit Guilty Gear?” or something. I really wish this was about an actual game and not validating someone’s silly outlook on competition.

Low tier jesus…THats going to be my new online name.

But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. - Genesis 19:26

you have no guilt for winning or losing
low tier characters can be very weak, so it not tournament viable, so you want win without much of struggle pick a top tier. top tier is just top tier not god tier, it not character you cannot defeat .
