Top 6 characters from kof 2002?

Top 6 (in no particular order)

Athena - c.C, ridiculous teleport, B Phoenix Arrow, old-school Psycho Ball… too much speed, too much evil.

Billy - f+A >>>> All. Add nastiness off of c.B x 2, c.A, etc.

Choi - easy-mode midget. The Wolverine of KoF.

Iori - see every other KoF ever. Amazing cross-ups, brain-dead command throw in to 50%. Too easy.

Chris - CD, ridiculous BnB, speed, speed, and more speed.

Yashiro (either) - Some may cry foul on this one, but I think even with the neutered normals, he’s still low top. Regular Yash has AC glitch in to stupid damage, O.'s got unblockable super + command throws.

Mexico’s good at KoF… Korea’s better.

go go go…huntington park…pacific & saturn…1pm signups…singls and team tourney…K-Force VS Team Santa Ana VS Team Huntington Park 5on5on5! this will be vid capped…

umm mexico is best at KOF, those guys are monsters down there, thats all they play down there.

actually i’m gonna have to agree. the only reason i created this thread is because a bunch of mexicans did an OCV on me while playing random character select. AT first I thought that it was a fluke, until I realized that they are in fact monsters. Seriously, they’re fuckin obsessed with that shit.

How come everyone claimes these random latinamerican countries are the best when they’ve never traveled to play any worldwide competition (like korea?) i mean, i know theres a big scene there but still…

KOF tiers go as such:

Korea > Taiwan = Japan >>>>>>> Rest of Asia >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bootleg World(aka All of South America + Mexico Assist) > USA

Team Border Jumpers beast on USA, but not by THAT much.

Hey Art, who the fuck is teaching Wong T5, and who is he using? This’ll probably be good for a laugh.

Last I saw, he was using Julia.

kaneda i like that tier list. hahahahaha. USA = bottom feeders. Only reason I got halfway decent at the game is from playing these damn fobs that come back once a year from the mainland hahah.

About T5, I haven’t been to CF much since the game came out…too fuckin cold for CF. And i’ve heard Julia isn’t that good in T5, Justin should just whore out and play Steve like everyone else, hah!

It’s not just that USA is the bottom of the barrel, but that Team Bootleg World isn’t THAT much higher than they think. And unlike them, I have the mileage to prove that. Korea isn’t THAT much higher than Japan and Taiwan(both of who make some stupid good combo exhibitions), but the East solidly beats the West, no matter what they’d like to fool themselves into thinking. And if the US didn’t have the wild fragmentation + dead arcades + general lack of true SNK gamers vice overabundance of SNK fanbois, we’d be at LEAST above the rest of the Americas.

I still wanna know who’s teaching(taught) Wong. I know for a FACT he didn’t fuck with Tekken before this.

american gamers are stupid, mainstream and lazy, to sum up your paragraph in one line.

but yeah, your tier list is definetely the way it seems from what i’ve seen in vids/heard - i wish i could go there and peep for myself soon!

anyway, as for wong not fucking with tekken - youre a bit wrong on that, when ricky was living with me for a good part of a year he taught us all basic tekken (myself/jwong) even though it was for shitty ass t4, and justin played for a while and entered a few tourneys. He gave up though.

agreed…
I wish I knew of the gaming hotspots in Japan, all the arcades I went to I was beating people in KoF, which was pretty sad, concidering…

and Orochitempest - USA vs Mexico Kaillera happens a lot… theres a sudden growth of more people playing from there… and lemme tell you… if I can beat them… theyre not that much better… then again, its just sporadic online matches, so whatever…

Anyway, to the point… it mostly goes… the easier character = top tier… those chars hanzo listed are good in the right hands, but in the majority of hands, the top tiers billy/beni/choi/athena can cause major problems with little effort… but its not that the rest of the cast cant own it up

I’m going to have to agree with Korea > *. The worst KOF ass-kickings I received were at the hands of Koreans (Leona and May like you wouldn’t believe :BBBBB)

On a related note…IMO the Philippines doesn’t have a shortage of very good players either, but it’s just that it’s a clusterfuck archiphelago, it’s hard for players just to congregate and get together. But I’ve seen very good players from both Luzon and Mindanao.

2k2 vanessa 100% pwns

There are a fat selection of match and tourney vids from Singapore, France, China, Brazil, and the SBO (Korea vs Japan), if you want some material to help you judge…

BAS from Korea has a mean cancelmode Billy, but the most fun matches were in the HK comic tourney, where they all had to use Random, which didn’t stop someone using Whip and going all out BC combo nuts…

And if don’t like that, there’s always Fatalfury pron

Gunsmith, good job on plugging your site, I was leeching from there last week actually, trying to leech those vids… :stuck_out_tongue:

thought you renounced yourself from ever posting from srk after that kmegura fiasco dude.

Honestly, the general consensus is that the top tier
is ABC, then Iori barely below those 3 (he’s up there though)

Some debate after that. i’d put Vanessa with Iori cause of her infinite.

Then there’s some debate as to who is #6. I’d say the top tier is just those 5. The one thing the top 5 all has in common is that they are easy characters, especially Iori and Athena.

I’d seen yuri, May, O-Yash, Chris, Kusanagi mentioned the most for #6

if Kula and Mai didn’t damage like little girls they’d probably be #6 themselves, but they don’t dish out enough- Mai especially. Turtle/runaway Mai is VERY annoying.

How the hell can you compare someone who plays all the time on a joystick to a person who plays on a keyboard. Mexicans are by far the best ive played, Ive played some white people, but they suck ass. I have yet to play a korean, japanese, etcetc, But I do hope to play one someday.

Time heals many wounds… it’s all good, time to make a fresh start!

yeah i forgot to mention, vanessa, shes good, and by the way if i were to sing up at SBO i probably wont get far away but they would not beast on me cause i can handle pretty well, Mexico city is the hotspot for KOF i hear and Jalisco too, which by they way,has a KOF launch parties everytime a new one comes out sponsored by SNK Playmore.

I think one reason you dont hear about the best players from here in mexico is that some of them, are either too poor to travel or they dont care about recognition that much, but mostly cause people are too poor to travel things are too expensive here.

The worst KOF beating I got from Koreans was a person playing Ryo. He taught me how to play Ryo(Any game) and Hanzo in CvS2. Also the reason why there is no united Pinoy community because alot of pinoy KOF players like to shit on other games.

All I know is that Cebu players are as good as players from Manila. Tourney standings is proof of that. Also Filipino players > Canadians(IMO) thats what most orochinagi players said.

^^The tiers are so obviously this
