Top 5 in every game

He was using a few names before…umbrage was one of them. I could tell it was him the moment we started playing…but I haven’t run into anyone that plays like him and has his ping recently. His ping was like 10.

Uh, that was Kwaza who posted that, not me.

Im just going by my play experiences with these people. Lucky is good and all, but these other guys have given me more trouble than any other people I have played, Especially Eishi, he reacts to quick to my moves which IMO makes him numero uno. If there was a top 10, then Lucky would be in it. :wonder:

Certain people who plays “limited” amount of chars , I have the luxury of playing lots of chars so I can just use counter char to beat them, even though they are tough, having the matchup advantage makes the fights easier. eg) Slide’s final fight chars or Chibi’s Chun, and Quinton’s Sak and Ken.

The opponents I have the toughest time against in A3 that I have played recently is Ryu1999, haven’t played often enough with the rest.

YOU’RE ON!!

1)Eishi
2)Ryu1999
3)Toma$$
4)Lucky
5)Quinton

Those are just mine based on having played them all.

Eishi plays like a tourney player and hardly ever misses his v-ism setups and combos.

Ryu1999 also plays like a tourney player, has extremely fast reaction to opponent movements (especially when he has no health left and I go for chip death) and is very smart. He can also appears to think 3 moves ahead with an accurate offense.

Toma$$ can play a wide variety of characters and well. He is also good with landing combos and following up on opponents mistakes. His v-ism birdie should definetly be acknowledged. I learn a lot playing him.

Lucky is by far the most intelligent player I’ve ever played not just in a3, but in VS as well. He barely makes mistakes and has excellent v-ism game. He can be frustrating at times when his names has meaning in game.

Quinton Mcleod shouldn’t be on the list right now. He’s a good player, but I haven’t seen him online in a long time. The last time I played him I finally managed to beat him a set of games against his v-sak and afterwards his defensive strategy wasnt effective on me anymore. I posted the input in the old gg or bgs thread. I would probaly put Lust here because his chun can beat mine pretty good.

Vampire Savior

These are the list w/o me on it.

This was the old list.

  1. AssClown (always gave me the hardest time before I surpassed him)
  2. DragonAngel (plays like a jap tourney player in those combo vids)
  3. Gbursine (knows the game inside and out better than I do)
  4. Cyber (had the best morrigan and played good defensive strat)
  5. Young Ic3 (cant remember a lot about him)

All of these were 10x better than me before I became as good as I am now.

This is the new updated list based on everyone I’ve played up to this point.

  1. Lucky (has surpassed everyone in my opinion)
  2. DragonAngel (hes not exactly what he used to be but still good)
  3. Gbursine (still knows the game inside and out)
  4. Kyokuji (has come a very very long way)
  5. Rusheddown (another one that has come a long way)

Lucky and kyokuji are definetly getting better and a lot. I cannot rush either of them down like I could anyone else. I’m having to learn matchups all over again over these two. Their jedah’s are also to be recognized. DragonAngel has become a bit more defensive then he use to be. He use to be good more offensive and linking attacks. Gbursine speaks for himself and rusheddown is almost as intelligent as lucky.

Woah, I’m getting wayyy overated in this thread…

Anyways heres what my list would look like from what I’ve played…

Alpha 3

1.Eishi
2.Ryu1999
3.Tomass
4.Chibi
5. (don’t know who this guy is, but he’s pretty good.)

Vampire Savior

1.Chibi
2.GB
3.Kyokuji
4.Eishi (Haven’t played much in Vampire Savior)
5.AssClown

I guess I’m not the only one losing to his Daigo like comebacks with no health…:wasted:

I’d also like to mention that Lucky, who has hardly played kof, is better than a vast majority of the kof2k2 players online…not top 5 but he’s easily better than people who have many years of experience.

I dont think i’ll be in in anyone’s top 3 or 5, when i get on again. Give it about 4 days tops and i’ll be around. Still not in the states yet BUT im out of Iraq.

I would have to disagree. Having played all three I would say DGV is by far better than Wishworm and Fuzzy. Thats not to say Wishworm and Fuzzy aren’t fantastic players in their own right.

I havent played against Chrisfighter, RWD or Eishi.

My top 5 Euro Kaillera ST players are;

  1. Hadoku
  2. Fuzzy
  3. Louie
  4. Wishworm

There is virtually nothing between these players.

Pulpasis i respect your opinion as a great player, but I have to disagree. i regularly play on kaillera againt all those players in my list. I’ve played DGV a couple of times aswell, as well as Jump Suit Jesse. I thought JSJ was better than DGV. And i know my mate RWD was at the very least equal to JSJ.

I know your not as active as you used to be, but all these players have improved a great deal recently, especially Wishworm. Louie is not better than Wishworm, they play quite alot and Wish always comes out on top. Eishi beat Louie in the finals in Cannes Tournament a few months ago. And Both Wishworm and Fuzzy beat Eishi.

Even though DGV was amazing, i still think Wishworm and Fuzzy are better. I got way more wins against DGV than i do against those two.

I haven’t seen Chrisfighter online for the longest time, but when he was around i’d put around the same level as DGV. Other player i didn’t include but probably should of, are Louie and Ex_mosquito, and maybe Spinal and Cop42. It just it gets so tight at the top, where as you said theres very little skill difference.

I never played you or Hadoku, but from what i hear from Daz (Unikronn) your unstoppable. Be great if you could come to Crayfish’ next meetup, so we can get some games in. I’m itching to take on your o.ryu. I’ll try and get Wishworm to come as well.

Cheers
r3ko

MANNNNNN I thought you said you’d be back on the 26th >_<. Now I have to wait till August. grumble grumble

<3 <3<3

I know that you guys are referring ONLY to Kaillera (how you guys even play on this boggles my mind to this day…), but the simple way to settle this is just to have all those other players just show up on Zbattle and play w/out lag. I’m sure myself, DG, and Pulp would gladly welcome them with open arms :wgrin:

PS: DG doesn’t really even play ST. He plays SF2 in case you guys hadn’t realized it yet.

Playing on Kaillera is easier for UK gamers than Americans. Me and Wishworm live in neighbouring towns, and on the UK server for kaillera we both receive pings of 15and under (my ping reads 0 most of the time). This makes for a pretty much lagless game. While in America, the whole of England can fit into some states many times over. So your bound to have people living much further apart, thus more lag.

Zbattle is overrated imo. I don’t know whats so great about it. For one the frameskipping on there is mental, sometimes its like playing in some sort of extreme turbo mode for one second followed by extreme slow mode the next. The worst i experience on Kaillera is maybe a rare lag spike here and there. Second, theres no ST. and the snes version for ssf2 isn’t even a good substitute for arcade ssf2 let alone arcade ST. Lastly, performing special moves seems like a chore on zbattle and not just ssf2. I know i am doing the motions right with correct timing, but more often than not, nothing happens, just end up whiffing a normal. Its not my stick, cause that performs flawlessly on kaillera. And everyone playing on ssf2 on zbattle would be pointless, expecially those who arent accustomed to it.

Now if you want to do a list for best ssf2 player on snes for zbattle or HF then i’d agree with you DGV is one of the best if not the best.

Karnov’s Revenge and Breakers Revenge should also have a top 5, but I don’ t know them.

Wow, I have to say I completely diasgree with you 100%. Hmm…where do I start…

First, SSF2 on Snes is a good, correction perfect substitute for the arcade version of SSF2. The snes version has speed settings. Nuff said. That is argument closed. SSF2 on Z shouldn’t be viewed as a substitute for ST. SF2 & ST are 2 completely different games. SF2 on Zbattle is for those who want to play lagless SF2 matches on a global scale. If you were on Xband back in the day, you would already understand the magnitude of Z. But for those of you who weren’t…playing Snes & Genesis games via a modem (14.4 for Sega & 9600 Baud for Snes). Unfortunately, it only existed in the US & Japan. Oddly enough, playing on that was better than playing on Kaillera today or XBL.

As far as Kaillera, I have played opponents with my ping being 0 and their ping being 10 or less and surprise, surprise…it lagged. Not just a little, but badly. My opponent was only about 20 miles away or so. So, if it lagged with a proximity like that, it’s only natural to believe that a match between you (UK) and my bro (CA) would be horrible. You said JSJ played you better, well, one reason for that could easily be that (TX) is closer to the UK than CA. Nothing against JSJ. He’s an awsome player, but TX is closer to you than CA. Not hating, just simple geography. And again, DG doesn’t really play ST. He can tolerate the game. My self personally believe the game is just a step above Rainbow Edition. But meh, that’s just me.

Z isn’t perfect. I acknowledge that. At times there will be little frame skips when I play opponents in the UK at certain times. Usually when that happens, I just simply adust the latency from 1 to 2. This is what Pulp and ourselves always do. After that, it’s back to a lagless match. Playing offline on Zsnes differs from from playing Zsnes online. A player needs to make a slight adjustment on the timing for certain diagonals. After a week of playing, you adjust.

Ultimately it comes down to what you’re looking for. If you just want ST, then Kaillera is your only option. But if you want SF2, and want to play against players anywhere across the globe, then Z is the obvious answer. That’s pretty much why Pulp is on it. He knows full well that there are only so many good SF2 plyrs in Europe. Again, not hating, but it’s numbers, plain & simple.

Sigh, I really didn’t want to post. More wins against me or my brother? We’ve only played twice on Kaillera. For the record, I drop battles all the time on Kaillera…but it’s only KAILLERA…and more importantly its ONLY ST :wgrin: But we were both out of our element since we were playing in the east coast server so we both suffered.

As for Zbattle, you only played my brother Vintage. I watched quite a few battles, and he was streaking with Hawk alone. Not bad considering it was his first time using Hawk online. Sure you got a few wins off it, but he didn’t have to choose hawk 25 straight times :stuck_out_tongue: But anway, both countries have excellent players…i’ll just leave it at that

Regarding Z vs Kaillera, Vin already covered that part well. Oh btw, sup Pulp!

Yeah i remember that vaguely, seems quite while ago those were good games. But as i said in my previous post, i suffer from severe frameskipping, which really throws me off, considering you would be on one side of the screen, then suddenly appear next to me. And doing moves was hard as hell. I don’t think i could of done alot about it. Plus i think that was one of my first goes playing ssf2 at all, ST all the way for me. The game felt quite alien to me. So take what you will from those games.

I played one of you on kaillera eons ago, in an american server, You said your playing in an east coast server, well i was playing across the atlantic. So you can’t really use that. Obviously the conditions weren’t ideal since we live so far apart. Also that was when i was still really new to ST, i didn’t know my right from my left so to speak.

My mate RWD will prob see Vintage’s post and go crazy at how he said that ssf2 on snes is a good substitute for arcade ssf2. I’ll only say that people moan about ST on ps1, saturn, dc and even AE on ps2, not being good enough substitutes. So i just can’t see how ssf2 on snes, being much less like the arcade would be a good substitute, when ST ports aren’t

I still firmly believe that Wishworm and fuzzy are better based on my experiences. Maybe if i played you guys at ST in ideal conditions i may have a different opinion. But theres really no more point arguing this, zbattle and kaillera are 2 different worlds, and comparing people from othersides of the world is fruitless if they never have played eachother. I kinda wish i never said anything now. I really don’t want to argue about this for 10 pages, cause frankly i’d rather be playing ST than writing out lengthy posts

Wasn’t expecting to get listed in VS.
Ego +3.
I thought the game was too frantic at first, but the more I play, the more I realize how controlled everything really is.

Since no one else has done it yet, here’s a Last Blade 2 list not including myself:

New List:

1)hello/oh hell (Seriously hampered by his high ping, but he knows the game extremely well)
2)Zelikazi (In Japan at the moment unfortunately)
3)Bobo da Homo (Not as good as the other two, but we play each other so much that he knows my game inside out. We learned a lot off each other. Doesn’t play well when there’s a moderate amount of delay though)
4)Rr/The Great Emancipator (Another good player hampered by lag)
5)Kaede [fr] (Reminds me of Thanatos. Doesn’t know very many characters and he’s very random at times, but he plays a great defensive game)

Old List: (I was mid-level at best during this period, so it’s harder to nail down a concise list)

1)LB2Mania (Moved back to China unfortunately. I never got to play him, but I heard he was miles above everyone else)
2)Walchuk
3)Abar/Maestro (This guy bitched way too much though. He despised defensive play and refused to play that way even if the situation warranted it)
4)Silver Fox
5)Shift (The Bobo da Homo of old. My old training buddy).

Honourable mentions go out to Hitokiri Battousai (The only person I’ve seen make any real progression), enjoy urself, and Hendrrsn.
Silver Fox told me that there were at least a couple other people better than Abar, but I never got to meet any of them so I don’t know their names.
