megaman x was my favorite game as a child i adored everything about that game. still to this day i will pop it in for a run every now and then, and what they have been doing to them now just puts a hole in my heart.
if i were to ask god what games i had spent most of my time on you bet megaman x and megaman legends would be in the top five, and i was as devastated as my avatar the day i heard legends 3 was cancelled.
I’m everything that’s wrong with gaming, precisely. A franchise I enjoy no longer delivers games that appeal to me, so I refuse to support it for the sake of supporting it by way of flushing money down the toilet. Bitch please, can it with the knee-jerk fanboy reaction. We might love MM, but how long has it been since MM was THE face of Capcom? When was MM the it game?
I think I clearly established that I am a Megaman fan. But there is a reason why Capcom pulled the plug, it doesn’t make money like it used to. Capcom has milked that series to death already.
I lost interest when it got to the Battle Network/Star Force series. They aren’t bad, just not my type of game. As a core fan, I felt alienated with the design shift. When MM9 came out I felt alienated because it was a step back as opposed to a step forward. Fun game, but certain gameplay choices left me scratching my head. How can you make an advancement when you remove something as classic as sliding or charge shots? I simply stopped caring, I didn’t even get MM10. With Inafune out of the picture, what hope is there? Unless MM pulls a Houdini and somehow escapes from limbo to make a grand relaunch of the series, its best to leave it alone.
Whilst there may be ‘Bigger’ mistakes; seriously, you guys don’t think it smacks of being sloppy, cheap and poor quality to spell the name of the game INCORRECTLY ON THE SIDE OF THE CASE? These art departments are supposed to be professionals, meaning they get paid to produce that.
Piss poor QA as well.
I expect a product I buy from a multi billion pound company to at least look professional, and not like someone has knocked it up in their garage.
Saying you have a problem with sequels is like saying you don’t like to have better video games.
Consider that patches, what you call “sequels” and even “new games” are all version updates. (All the rest of the differences are external factors unrelated to the very definition, which is to modify the piece of code.)
In the case of the last- Almost all the 2D games in the genre contain a big part of the core rules of SF2:WW, with many more rules added on top, to state an obvious example.
The real problem is when newer versions don’t increase the complexity over old versions, negating a sequel’s raison d’etre.
There only big mistakes is fucking come back mechanics in SF4 and MvC3 series.
SFxTekken has had so many fucking glitches and random shit. And troll megaman
No Megaman X games
No more Demon Crest games
No more good final fight games
no more Breath of Fire games
no more strider games
need a new dark stalkers game
need a capcom vs snk 3
wish they would make a new Red Earth and Cyber Bots
the only thing I want from capcom now is RE6 which is sad. Since all there other games arent coming out
Simple math has taught me that the Supers and Ultimate Arcade Editions are actually better for my wallet AND net me a nice new disc I just pop in and play.
Disney is now partnered with Square/Enix with their Kingdom Hearts franchise. This may have also contributed to why CAPCOM no longer develop Disney-licensed games.
As for canceling Mega Man, well look what happened to Maverick Hunter X/Powered Up as well as the Ryuusei series. I don’t think ZXA became a commercial success either. Perhaps they’re afraid to risk another failure to the franchise.
Yes, Mega Man X is my favorite Mega Man series. The problem is that it is unable to keep up with the modern times unlike Mario. Other than the graphics and having 3 playable characters, are there any other dramatic changes if you compare Rockman X8 to X1? Nothing much. Playing that game today is no longer the same as I’ve played the other Mega Man games a decade ago.
My only wish is that they finish the entire lore of that franchise. Tie all the loose ends and then wrap it up with an epic ending.
Really? You’re making it personal? What am I supposed to do with that? Angrily respond? Maybe if you explained why you disagree with what I said we could have a conversation about it instead of playing the stupid internet tough guy game.
