Top 10 Capcom Mistakes

Yep because of course that’s the only reason. 100% of the people and no less all had issues with it being released months later. Not a single person just didn’t like the fact that they locked out finished material on the disk. The evidence for this is Shuma and Jill in MvC3. No one complained about having to pay $5 extra, or buy the collectors edition; everyone was cool with this because they were available right away.

This is an example of how your myopic prospective leads to your articles being crap.

Normally I enjoy Screwattacks’s videos…but I think that this list was to bitch just to bitch.

I don’t think people would have cared if they weren’t available immediately too much seeing as how neither character is a huge fan favorite. If they had held like dante and magneto ransom for 5 dollars, I think people would have cared more.

To be fair, it’s not just gamers. If you gather a thousand people in one place to have them discuss any one particular subject, pretty soon you’re going to start being irritated by enough people to make the majority of them look bad.

LMAO I face palmed when they should the box art mistakes

Don’t Disney have their own videogames studio now, so I don’t think that’s #1

Legend of Chun Li definitely deserved to be #1

  1. This. When I play a survival horror, I want to be scared like a bitch until I grow a pair and soldier. The actiony feeling from that kinda ruins it. If anything, Haunting Ground and the RE Outbreak series were very underrated. RE4 and 5 were pretty good, though.

  2. If they have health issues and have to leave, you can’t really hold that against them and call it a mistake. :wtf:

  3. I don’t spend over $40 just to correct a spelling error.

  4. Never saw the movie.

  5. That’s actually not just Capcom. There are other games that appear to be really good but will never come to America. I remember when G4 was actually good and saw Sexy Beach on X-Play back in elementary school. I’m still waiting for that game to come out to this very day.:coffee:

  6. Really can’t say anything about this. I was born in 1993 after all.

  7. Can’t really say anything about this either, though I can say that Bayonetta was the shit.

  8. I don’t even need to type a thing since everyone beat me to it. Oh well. Didn’t feel like ranting about that anyway, nor did I reason to, because I wasn’t even excited about that game.

  9. Can you really call this a mistake?

  10. Again, born in 1993. I didn’t even know Disney games were made by Capcom, nor were the stories originally dark and grotesque. I learned two new things about Disney today.

Capcom is a company, run by the “suits.”

The “suits” don’t give a fuck about the games themselves like the developers do. They just want $$$ and it took people 20 years to realize how fucking greedy Capcom as a* company* is. I mean just look at their sad excuses when asked about patches to update SFIV and MVC3. Who the fuck would believe the shit they spewed regarding that?

Ono basically had to gargle the balls of the heads of Capcom to get SFIV made. Developers have to bust their asses to get anything done or get a project greenlit. The gaming industry is almost as corrupt as other parts of the entertainment industry.

^ There’s part 2 of a video about the Silent Hill “HD” collection. Listen to all the absolutely ridiculous shit Konami did while putting this “HD” port together.

TLDR: GREED, FUCK GOOD DEVELOPERS.

Then you’re a fool. Shuma has a cult following, and Jill is from one of the most popular gaming series of all time. Just because you can single out two more popular characters doesn’t mean no one gave a shit about the two that were DLC. Furthermore that was just an example for how dumb it is to say no one cares that finished content is on a disk beyond when its actually released.

Because the “we don’t want you to have to download a large compatibility patch” excuse would have worked if the DLC came out immediately.

The fuck are you talking about? That does nothing absolve the complaints of a large contingent of people who don’t like the fact that finished content is locked out on a disk. Folks think that if it’s finished, and it’s on the disk it’s theirs. Regardless of how silly that is, that’s the way some people think. By holding back a few MB of critical information they could have pretended like it wasn’t finished and no one could have complained.

Two words: Fuck. Capcom.

Why are people still complaining about anything this company pulls? If you don’t like their practices, then do what I (and any other sane consumer) did and stop giving them money. Companies don’t care about petitions, they don’t give a shit about tournaments and fan bases or “communities,” they only care about money.
Repeat for the slow ones: COMPANIES ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY.

Stop lining the pockets of a shitty company that can’t even get something as simple as SFxTekken right.
One more timesayitwithmenow

FUCK CAPCOM.

That wasn’t the point. The company’s management must be piss poor for so many talented people to be leaving in drones. Working the people they do have into hospitalization doesn’t help with this.

shitXshit is the perfect proof that its NOTHING but business now.

this shit was created to attract scrubs that probably never played any other fighting games in their lifetime. that ABC is what they hoped would sell…A LOT. least they could have done is leave the gameplay alone like sf4 and just add the tekken cast. but no…they had to make it about 10x shittier than sf4(doesnt mean sf4 is a great game either)

no cvs3.

resident evil 5 and possibly 6 too.

and I am not really a “gamer” anymore and been out of the loop but I am sure there are tons of other fuck-ups by capcom.

Gonna summarize it so that people can be spared from having to watch a Gametrailers vid:

Their List
10) "Destroying Survival Horror"
Big whoop. Not like plenty of other genres aren’t also dying right now.* Can’t really blame Capcom for this one since RE4 and RE5 were much bigger hits than RE3 and Code Veronica, and the market has proven that survival horror isn’t sustainable right now.*

  1. Poor Management
Way too vague. How about being more specific, guys? The specific example they give is the [S]firing[/S] resignation of Inafune, which I would put near the top of my list, but for a multitude of reasons.

  2. Uh…sloppy typos???
WTF. I’d turn off the vid right now if I didn’t already promise to summarize it.

  3. SF: The Movie
Uh…wouldn’t really classify that as a top 10 mistake. Movie was very financially successful, and that’s all that really matters in the film industry. Yes it was “bad”, but in a way that was hilarious and entertaining. Not to mention it was at least released at a time where SF was still mainstream.
Legend of ChunLi was terrible with no redeeming factors, didn’t make a dime, utterly pointless, and released at a time where SF was anything BUT mainstream.

  4. Not porting Prof Layton X Phoenix Wright or Monster Hunter G
Agreed somewhat, PL X PW probably wouldn’t sell NEARLY as much as the game ought to, simply because 3DS software sales are tanking hard in the states. Still no good reason not to port it to IOS or something, other than lazy localization issues. They should bite the bullet and split localization costs with Nintendo 50/50 to get the damn game released, but is this really a top 10 mistake?

  5. Rehashes
I know SRK for some stupid reason loves to defend sequels and whatnot, but this is the number one thing has always built Capcom a bad reputation. From the classic era to today. Capcom has always waxed and waned on sequelitis, but you can’t argue it hasn’t gotten worse.

  6. Clover Studio
Yeah, it sucks but again you can’t blame Capcom if the sales weren’t there. The big mistake was letting the talent go, but that’s over a much bigger umbrella of poor management causing turnover in general.

  7. DLC
Yeah, I have to agree. Not with the fact that the DLC exists, but how it was handled, especially in the case of SFxT. That’s another issue people on SRK stupidly like to defend, so I’m not going to argue for the sake of my sanity.

  8. Cancelling Mega Man
Yeah, but again if the sales aren’t there…again this is more of an issue of #5 and #9. If they put the effort in a SINGLE next-gen Megaman, put a marketing force around it and treated it like a really big deal, then yeah. Otherwise the half-assed milking of MM they’ve been doing for the past 10 years wasn’t going to cut it.I highly doubt that 90% of people bitching about MM haven’t bought or played a single MM game in the last 10 years except for maybe MM9 or a Battle Network game.

  9. No More Disney Games
Holy God, so stupid. This isn’t the 8-16Bit era anymore where a decent licensed platformer is going to sell 500k units guaranteed. In fact, I’m pretty sure Disney has its OWN game publishing company now (Buena Vista Games). You know what fucking Disney licenses are really selling right now? Fucking shit like Hannah Montana and I-Carly. Some tween pop idol shovelware shat onto a DS cartridge would make 20x as much money as any genuinely good Ducktales or Mickey Mania platformer.

 Typical SRK hypocrites, 99.9% of yall don’t post shit besides about how much you hate Capcom and the second a mainstream gaming outlet echoes the same thoughts yall whiteknights come out the fuckin woodwork:lol:

I love Capcom, I grew up playing their games and I continue to dig into their past catalog of gems. Capcom is smart, to a point. They’ve managed to adjust to handle the “big business” world of gaming. SNK has failed to acclimate to this, as well as Hudson. I love Megaman, but besides the niche hardcore market…who really gives a shit? Joe Nobody on the street is NOT going to care or notice that Megaman is gone from the public eye. There are dozens and dozens of Megaman games, up there with Sonic and Mario. You people have probably only beaten a handful of them anyway, go play the others. I’m worried for Konami, Hudson imploded after relying on Bomberman to make them money. Konami isn’t any better, relying on nostalgia and key franchises instead of taking the risk of branching out. If I’m not interested I just answer with my wallet and opt not to get anything.
I don’t know how to phrase this, but Capcom isn’t that bad. Nintendo is more deserving of the hate than Capcom. Capcom tries at least. On disc DLC? Who fucking cares. I paid for the game, I don’t want to give them more money than I have to, I won’t buy it. I just make due with the content available. DmC looks amazing, so why are people so up in arms over a fresh approach?

Only 10? Nah serously tho i love those greedy bastards just as much as i hate pretty much all their recent business decisions n PR excuses. Their fans love to bitch n Capcom gives the people what they want - Stuff to bitch about.

Thank you for proving another point. Capcom behaves the way they do because they think exactly like this. “Who gives a shit about Mega Man?” “DmC looks amazing.” Indeed…

Yes. Fuck Capcom and the idiots who empower them and the rest of the industry into the shit fest it has become.

MvC3 not on that list?

http://www.ahvb144.sakura.ne.jp/img/dha/PL25PAKE2C.gif

what a crock

You’ve been here long enough to know that the majority of the SRK crowd hate change and are very close minded when it comes to video games. Almost everyone hating on DmC does so because they liked DMC the way it was and the fact that it’s being changed at all let alone by a developer they feel isn’t capable of delivering the deep combo system that made them like DMC to begin with makes it easy to see why there is so much hate in the DmC thread as well as the rest of teh interwebz. To add fuel to the flames not only are DmC haters unimpressed with the footage shown so far but they also hate all the non game play changes, especially after NT went on the record to basically say they won’t cave in to fan demands and are going to create the vision for DmC they want. This artistic integrity NT has for DmC as well as all the major changes being made is perceived by the haters as NT being condescending of the franchise they love and care so much about. For many people it’s the equivalent of a UMVC3 player saying MVC2 sucks.

I like what I’ve seen of DmC so far especially since I think DMC has gotten a little stale, but I’m more excited about the fact that Capcom took such a big risk with one of their biggest IP’s. Not only do I want DmC to be the great game I think it can be but I hope it sells really well and inspires other companies to take more creative risks. I don’t mind the fact a lot of people are genuinely unimpressed with DmC so far, I even agree with some of the criticism like having 30FPS is just stupid. However, it’s clear that many if not most DmC haters let their childish, ignorant fanboyism blind them and have condemned it since day1, so immediately a lot of fans aren’t willing to give it a chance. Even if the game was somehow the second coming of Bayonetta and came with a million dollars and sex with an army of supermodels these people would still say it’s garbage and not worth a dime…of course most of these people deny it though:rofl:
