Thanks FMJ for the sticky. Unlike some of the other mods at least you try to help the northeast street fighter community in the struggle that its going thru right now. This is like the only good arcade aside from CF and the owner is even buying all these new games and cabinets out of his own pocket to help the scene stay alive. Fuck the haters that dont know anything about TGA and refuse to even help when you can. :lame:

Also guys, when the website comes back up (www.tokyogameaction.com) PLEASE register if you haven’t already, so that we can make out these so called “profiles” for the “New England” Ranking Battles. Plus with you signing on, it helps us build the commmunity a lot more so that we can see how much support we actually have.

how often are they going to be held and what is it like small tourneys or somethin

they are small tournys with small entry fees, where you are placed in a rank over time your rank can improove or get worse depending on your places in the tournys. As long as both players agree and one of them is RIGHT above the other in the rankings, they are allowed to challenge them to take their spot, as long as there is a TGA employee to watch the match take place.
Also i went to family fun arcade out here in cali today… holy fuck it’s big…

all games are 1 quarter too… it is complete ownage… it is a PURE fighter arcade minus the 2x ddr type machines, and 3x other music games
there were about 12 people there actually playing, and there was a decent croud just chilling outside…
my scrubby dudley got some wins <claps> but there was a parry masta jay type person playing ken… parried about 20 of my attacks in a row… was pure bullshit lol

These Ranking Battles will be every two weeks (these will be announced on a regularly basis), and there will be NO ENTRY FEE, i repeat, NO ENTRY FEE for any games. It is just pay per play.
-In order to enter, you must sign up on www.tokyogameaction.com and present your username to the personnels running the battle (which will be most likely yours truly :bgrin:).
Upon entering these battles, you must give me your: User name, city/state, and games you wanna enter.
More info will be putted up once the site is back online,

When Andy gets back from Japan, we will begin the FIRST: ***“New England Ranking Battles!”
He should be back BEFORE October 1st. So expect to have the first battle on either October 1st or 8th. Most likely, October 1st if things go according to plan (we have to set things up perfectly and have the website operational). Remember, these Battles are:

They will always fall on a Saturday; if there are changes in the schedule either I or a TGA staff member will post it (DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT listen to third party messages). So always check the forums to keep yourself up to date.

There is NO ENTRY FEE; it is pay per play ($.50 a game), there are NO ACCEPTIONS.

You must be a TGA member on the website, if you do NOT have a username or you’re too lazy to register
, then you may not enter. It literally takes less than 5 mins. to make one.
Reason why these battles are gonna start pretty late (instead of right now) is because:

Our wonderful TGA owner will not be here to supervise, he doesn’t want to start these battles unless he’s here to Sharingan you guys :badboy:

When Andy comes back, not only will he be here, he’ll be bringing in some new inventory and NEW PARTS. These parts consist of new jamma cables :party:(for DOUBLE CABINETS to work), new sticks and buttons:clap:, GGXXSlash :wow:, and more!

And lastly, i’ll be too busy to run these battles and so will other staff members while Andy is gone. Theres alot of things to do aside from the Arcade.

Few questions gavin…
- will the ranking battles be for all games on the same day?
- how long will the first battle season last?
- will there be a point system and such that you can redeem your points for store merchandise or somthing of the sort? or will there be a main big prize for the person with the most points
- will 3s be in a VS cabinet for the first ranking battle?
- when do you think they will start? like what time of day?
- will there be a system installed on your msg board that shows the player’s rank under their avatar or somthing?
I went to FFA again the other night and there was ALOT of competition, i played prolee and a few other nasty players. This one guy’s akuma kept pissing me off… but i finially beat it wit my scrubby dudley 
I recently decided to make 3s the game i am going to be playing most often. So for everyone who will be interested in playing 3s lots, just gimmie a pm as to when and where to play.
TGA is most busy on thurs and sat correct? as far as fighting game fanatics go?
Also, other then in the “ranking battles” is there a way to challenge the person ranked above you and play a best of 3 to try and advance upwards?
Soon i will be more then willing to chill with ANYONE at any house for 3s play, regardless if you even have 3s. My new toys will come in very handy.

I am very excited as to how i no longer play that rechid diablo II , finially dropped the addiction :tup:
New addiction is cvs2 and 3s :badboy:
Because i can’t get to TGA every day it is open, i will most likley just play alot on XBL during the day and such so i can get the hang of knowing what normals and such are safe against what characters, as well as basic strats and such that can work… i will make sure that they work offline as well when i do play against other people, and if i notice it only works with lag, then i will drop that strat like a bad habit <3.
Things to do:
Start to re-do the actual basement
Practice parrying on 3s
Practice bread and butters with dudley
Practice not being so worried to move in 3s and cvs2
Practice being alot more patient
Looking forward to the ranking battles

But how can we play if you won’t accept anybody?
I’m so fuckin cool:bgrin:
1.) Ranking Battles will be on a Saturday only. And yes, it will be for all games. By all i mean: CvS2, 3s, MvC2, GGXXSlash, RF2, and mayyybe Zero 3 (we’re thinking of something to do with that).
2.) The keyword is Seasonal. Every time a new Season(Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer = Aki, Fuyu, Haru, Natsu) starts, there will be a Tournament; most likely a big tournament. And that tourney will end the series of Ranking Battles for THAT season.
-For example, our FIRST RANKING BATTLE SERIES will be the “Aki Series” (meaning Autumn), the week before Winter comes, there will be a tournament where ANYONE can participate whether you’re from NY, NJ, PA, etc. AFTER the Aki Tournament, we will begin the Fuyu Battles.
3.) With these points you will gain: Respect, Pride, and Honor! What more could you want? lol o wait, there is more! These points are put towards the “Seasonal Tournaments.”
-For example, with the tournaments: say you were #1 in RF2 for the Ranking Battles, you will get FREE entry fee AND free pay per play. So in other words, you enter the RF2 tourney, we give you tokens as you go through the tourney, and say you do place top 3 … you get to keep that prize money becuz WE paid for your entry fee. Now say you got ranked #2 in the Ranking Battles, you will have a FREE entry fee, BUT you’ll still need to go pay per play throughout the tournament. IF you get #3 in Ranking, you will recieve $3 in tokens (spending whichever way you want, it doesn’t have to be put towards the tournaments). And for rank #4, you will be given a handshake and a $1 in tokens.
Remember this goes for ALL games in the Battles.
4.) Supposedly, once Andy comes back with the parts.
5.) It will begin at 6 pm SHARP! If you’re not here on time, then tooooo bad. More points for the people that showed up on time

6.) We’re not too sure yet, but it WILL be posted and it updated. We’ll even post it “AT TGA” so people can see on a regular basis.
So summary:
-Every other Saturday = FIGHT! :karate: :nunchuck: :cybot: :china:
-Seasonal time frames are convenient. :tup:
