Hey guys,
I just wanted to drop a quick post to let you know that I’ve been following and reading all the comments you guys have been leaving regarding TGA and I really appreciate it.
When TGA first started I wanted to get our Bemani and fighting game sections locked down from the beginning, because I’ve always loved fighting games. But unfortunately, the timing and resources were never there. It was a miracle how everything came together and we were able to set up the fighting game room so quickly.
When I finally did fighting games, I wanted to do them right, Japanese boards, Candy cabs and Sanwa sticks / buttons. The opportunity was there, so I grabbed it. When I gave you this fighting game section I wanted you to have the best, because that’s what New England deserves, and now it finally happened all because of everyone here.
I want the fighting game room to expand. I want to not only get more head to head cabinets, but keep on top of new releases. If you came to TGA, you probably noticed that there are two vacant rooms beside us. Those rooms are ours for the taking, the only problem is that they are more expensive and I can’t commit to them until I pay of the cabs I just bought. I know the room is tight but if we can make this work, for a few more months, we can eventually have a huge area for the fighting games.
I must say you guys have stepped up to the plate and have been supporting this project. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I promise that as long at the support is there I will have the revenue to continue to make our fighting game section bigger and better.
So, the current plans on the horizon are (I need your input):
More head to head cabs? Do you want more variety of games or to double up / head to head/ what we have?
Would Tekken 5 be a good investment at this point or should we hold off?
What about the new SNK games New KOF / NGBC?
Do you want some more old unique fighters like the SF EX series, VF, or metly blood.
What about the new Fist of the Northstar game, any news or impressions?
SOMETHING ELSE I NEED YOUR HELP WITH.
TGA has specialized in Bemani games for so long, we have gained a loyal following. The good news is that some of our TGA crew has taken an interest in and has just begun to get into fighters. This is exactly what I wanted.
I’ve seen you guys play and I think a lot of newcomers could benefit from your experience. There is a huge untapped gaming community available and willing to join and expand our NE fighting game community. If we work together, we can make this community HUGE. Why shouldn’t NE be the biggest in the US? Let’s do this! So, if you see someone who is just starting out, please lend a hand and help them learn the games. If I sound passionate about this, your right, I am. And I know you are too, otherwise you wouldn’t be here and wouldn’t be pulling off 50+ A groove combos + RC’ing like there’s no tomorrow.
Remember TGA is your arcade and you get to decide what comes next. All I ask is that the requests and discussions be somewhat civil and productive.
Let me know what you are feeling and we can plan together from there.
ALSO REMEMBER: TGA is also an import store. I leave for Japan next week, if there is some merchandise you are searching for let me know and I will do my best to find it for you. TGA does have some rare / cool fighting game stuff for sale (at $5 over cost) but I need ideas of what you like. I’m partial to SF / Capcom, so throw some suggestions at me.
On a lighter note, the reason I haven’t responded until now was because the fighting game community coordination is Gavin’s turf and he has been doing a really good job. Plus, I figured it would be good for him to do some work, to get him away from the mirror and stop him from brushing his girly hair and trying to get plus size girls’ phone numbers.
Thanks everyone,
respectfully,
Andy
