Feckin get off your high horse. So what if others want to pick up guile now? Maybe they didnt know of any changes to guile, and this vid showed them something they liked? I forgot only a few people were allowed to play guile.

i just loved how guile was someone who was severly hampered and everytime i met someone when i was Abel and they picked Guile, i knew it was going to be even. NOW, i’m gonna have to demolish like hundred BILLION guiles before i meet someone who can freakin’ use him.

Right there. Daigo the beast, and certainly no Guile players would do that (as in let a flash kick go without FADC while within range of FADC) in a serious competition. What I might be alluding, is that the match was even staged. I can’t prove it, but I’m not really saying that’s the case, even; it’s not my main point.
So to all you Daigo fans and aspirants, Guile doesn’t play like Ryu (20 years since SF2 and I really have to say this?). The only safe flash kick is the one that makes contact.

it’s quite funny really. last night before i went to sleep (i live in the uk), i was gonna watch the stream. but i got too tired. i thought to myself “i bet seth gets daigo to use guile, seeing as he’s been hyping him up recently”. hehe.
p.s: why the fuck did daigo pick ultra 1 in the rufus match?
to counter rufus’ dive kick? logically, it makese sense. u2 is perfect against shoto chars though.
it was never that good against the dive kick in the first place imo. if he’d used sonic hurricane, it would’ve traded with the dive kick and rufus woud’ve taken full damage.
Guile is already noob proof designed. He’s a high mastery curve character, so if lot of noobs and mashers jump on board, they’ll get frustrated and give up on him eventually. Meanwhile the newcomers with real skill will be able to stick with him, so I think this should be a net gain for the guile community since in the end mostly only the strong will survive on the Guile wagon (assuming there is an actual bandwagon effect). I think the Dudley wagon is gonna be the same way.
So i’d welcome new players especially since this is a new fresh SF game. Personally though i’d play Guile (or Charlie) no matter what tier, popularity, etc he has but then again my SN already tells u that lol.

I was planning on using the new and improved Guile in Super because he was always my favourite character on SF2 as a kid. I didn’t use him in vanilla because he just didn’t feel right but I was hoping with some buffs to his normals and whatnot he would start to feel like the old Guile again.
I can’t use him now because Daigo ruined it. There’s always Deejay though, the ‘Urban’ Guile

in all seriousness, i don’t care if guile becomes the new craze. i plan on using 2/3 maybe even 4 characters in super sf4 anyways. this new game seems to have an extra variety in the play style that sf4 was lacking. i don’t know if it’s the new character, selectable ultras, buffs/nerfs, or just all of them combined.

At the time of writing this forum has 37 viewers, and Rufus has a big, fat, ZERO. Even though the match was a draw. I don’t get it. Furthermore Daigo rocked other characters, too.
Why? He used Guile back in the SSF2 days, and in CvS2, and Ryu kinda sucks now.
I was going to word a stinging response to the OG Guiles, but this seems to be everything that needs to be said. Be happy that your character got some love instead of being a punchline.
I liked Guile before he was cool.
