Didn’t Capcom put more time into MVC3 compared to MVC2? If so, shouldn’t they have found these glitches they have found with Wesker, Spencer, and Zero? I’m sure they’ll find more, but also hopefully they’ll fix it in a patch. Also, I do hate when Wesker’s super crosses me up when I block half of it, then hits me…
IMO, this game is more about not putting yourself in situations where you have to guess. If I’m in the corner I don’t want people crossing me up (which still frustrates me anyways), so my objective is to not even get in the corner.
I still stand by this game, but I also think this is a bad game. Cross-ups in the corner, damage is huge (even though you have 3 characters, losing one character in MVC3 is a much bigger of a deal than losing a third of your life in SSF4), XFC IS gay… and the only reason I’m really saying that is due to the speed boost. Damage isn’t a huge deal because half of the cast can die to something relatively simple anyways in this game, but the speed boost by itself makes it so much easier to get in.
Right… you do also realize that there is only 1 character in SF4 I have to worry about. Not 2 or potentially 3… I mean, it might be a great game for you. Not for others though. The ignorance you talk about is quite true. Some people did not have the game for 6 months like others so that could have something to do with it.
Duckie,
As far as leaving you alone… Who is actually bothering you about the game? I think the game LOOKS great, but I find it rather dull.
Also,
There is abolutely no damage comparison to what Sentinal can do in MvC3 KFC, than any character in SSF4. Saying otherwise is pretty ignorant.
Yes its true he has had the game longer than others. Shouldn’t that mean some of what he is saying should be given more credit? Since he has actually played the game more then like 5 times.
And as has been said there are three chars on your team. Meaning one char is 33.3% of your total life bar. So Sent can easily take out 33% of your life with on poke. Abel can land 1 poke and easily take away 50% of another char in SF. How is saying that ignorant? Sent cant guard break you as the next char comes in or do his unblockable like he could in Marvel 2 either.
Protip: Everything I knew before the game came out is in the guide.
Everyone can do 100% combos with XFC. Sentinel isn’t even that good except when playing people who don’t block. I’d fight Sent over Wolvie/Ammy/Phoenix/Wesker any day.
Severin, what you are saying is not true though, in SSF4 you have ROUNDS, 2 out of 3. In MVC2 you have one game with all three characters, not a “round” so the damage comparison is nowhere near the same. Basically you can adjust from round to round in Street Fighter but not in Marvel. 3/5 in MVC doesn’t make sense, it wasn’t used before and I don’t see a reason why it should be used now…
Yes,
Cylus has way more wisdom in the game than anyone on this thread by far. That doesn’t mean i’m ignorant for not loving the game like others.
KFC Sentinal is absolutely retarded. Call out an assist while he is in level 3 KFC and get touched… thats potentially 66% of your life gone right? Imagine if you called out all 3 characters. And all 3 characters had full health. The same thing would happen. so that means he can actually do 100% damage combo’s right. I dont think in SSF4 any character can do that! Gief’s Ultra does damage, but not 100%.
And yes… you could fire back with saying… you should have never called out your assist stupidly… The option is still there though. He can still do 100% damage combo’s. There is no way in hell that will happen in SSF4 even if gief had full ultra meter! granted, this is your opponent having 100% health. Again, I dont know nothing about the game. What I do know is… Sentinal level 3 KFC is fucking retarded if you get touched! Hell, even his chip damage is massive!
I didn’t have the game for 6 months. I only had it for barely over 2 months, so you were close. I didn’t even get to properly start working on it until after college finals anyways.
Maybe the game just needs to be played differently. I mean, from my super limited experience with Marvel 2, the only character you needed to actually know how to block properly was Magneto, and sure that was a tremendous feat, but it was still just one character whose offensive potential needed to be studied. In Marvel 3, you’ve got to learn how to block EVERYBODY, because everything is so ambiguous and can drop you right off the bat if the circumstance is right, or at the very least lead to a mixup that could easily take out one character. My focus lately has been just to learn how to defend against every character’s offensive gameplan: when and how to block, when to counter, when to hold up-back instead of down-back, when to pushblock and when to let them finish their block string and punish.
I dunno. I like the game. I’m pressing buttons all the damn time, even when I’m blocking. I can’t play SFIV for shit, cause when I’m full screen, even with a life lead, I’m so desperate to get some action going that I wind up self-destructing and start throwing out random ass pokes and specials. Watching Bison walk backwards makes me want to put a bullet in each testicle.
Edit: Then again, I’m an idiot and like everything, so hurp
Actually 3/5 was used quite often for MvC2 in the latter half of it’s tournament lifespan. It should be the standard, since even if every game goes to timeout, 3/5 would finish faster than if every SF4 round timed out in 2/3.
Frustrated because you cant constantly attack your opponent without the risk of getting supered
Losing
You aren’t good at it
Seriously though people. Why do you constantly complain about there being something wrong with the game everytime you lose to something? This same shit happened with SFIV Vanilla when it 1st came out. People were bitchin because they were losin to Sagat(Sentinel), “Random” Ultras(x-factor), and fireball spammers(keep away). It just seems to me that people just dont want to own up to their flaws. I rarely to never peek in this thread and see someone saying “Maybe I should work on my defense since Im gettin hit by random shit too much.” or “I gotta step it up since Im losing too much.” It always has to be something wrong with the game when you lose. Just get better and STFU!
How is this different than a majority of the cast? Sentinel is at least easy to block. He can’t pressure you like he could in MvC2. He’s good but far from the best character in the game. He’s just easy to play at a basic level.
I notice the people complaining the most are those with the least amount of knowledge about the game. That’d be like me saying why Tekken is a terrible game. I don’t play it nor know enough about it to criticize it.
If you don’t want to play MvC3 fine but citing reasons why it’s bad or stupid is lolz.
IIRC some marvel matches were done 3/5 towards the end. Even so why doesnt it make sense? Tekken is done 3/5 rounds because of this so why not make marvel 3/5 in general? Where is the drawback? It doesn’t really do much other than give you more time to adjust. Damage reduction will make things worse. You think Sent is bad now. Imagine your char doing 50% less damage on him. He will still do ok damage because he does really high damage to start with but it will take twice as long to kill him.
Lycan: Pretty much any char can do 100% damage combos with level 3 XFC. Hell plenty of the cast can do 100% on 1 char with less. The only one off the top of my head that gets a shitty level 3 XFC is Ammy. She gets like 130% damage boost big deal. Its an option to basically anyone. What does his having the option of doing that kind of damage have to do with you making a mistake and calling your assist poorly or getting hit. Sent is only getting those hits in off mistakes the other player made. Its not like he has some crazy rushdown or unblockable set ups.
Tekken and Soul Cal are 3D games for 3/5 rounds…not even close to the same thing, you have 2/3 games already set in something without rounds…I don’t know, I just don’t see the justification of it on this because it really does not look like it merits it…how long is each game if it goes to time out? (I see a lot of time outs) if you had 3-2 games for each match in a tourney, you could essentially have 11-12 minute matches and get 4-5 games done an hour? LOL I don’t think that is efficient by any means.
I mean, if you guys are ok with tournaments running til 11pm-3am and people stopping play and hype and madness and slow matches, then it’s whatever, but to me it’s illogical to do something like that when games like Tekken on 3/5 and SF on 2/3 are just right, but 3/5 on a game that could take considerably longer does not make sense until later in the tourney…
Wait, Richard just said this game runs at 3 seconds per second in real life time. If that is 5 minutes per match wouldn’t that be 20-25 minutes possibly on 3/5 matches? I thought it was like 2-3 minutes a match
WTF, seriously? 3/5 is a good idea after hearing this?
