TN Thread:We got two hit air combos

You all do realize that if Jose brings Tek setup, its gonna be 360. And him and DWreck are the only ones here who use stick. People are gonna be assed out. I’m not coming, I got some last minute stuff to do. But someone bring a ps3 setup for those guys please.

Sev, give Jose those flamingo cancels and "Raaa-ha!"s. Welcome that nigga into the world.

Bullshit! It’s so cool! I didnt tell those to him because I didnt know the notation of those moves or names. But yea, taunt-> mid strings is lifeline. But you know since he found out that it’s possible he’s going to be practicing unblockable Jet Upper. It’s too evil to resist even if he’s still stiff. Whatever, so long as he doesn’t become a headphones wearing, custom stick using, d/f+3 scrub.

Actually Justin does get randomed out of matches every now and then if you watch him enough, there wouldn’t be the Justin Wong grief images if it didn’t happen.

And yes I do have the conception that if you practice enough to do 100% combos that you deserve beat someone who gets lucky with lvl 3 x-factor random hits/supers, what I am supposed to do, block untill it’s over, that’s 30 seconds of rushdown.

I actually resort to pressing a missing assist button over and over with some people.

I hope they put Cyclops in this shit so I can pick a character with a instant beam and not feel like a total scrub lol.

Me Personally,
I have discovered that I do not really like MvC3 for all the reason Jas and everyone else is stating. If they tone down the damage, then maybe I can take that game seriously. Maybe. It’s just too ridiculous for me! Besides, before the game was released, i was not too hype for it anyway.

However,
MK9 is a totally different story. I am hype for that game! Hopefully it will be a game that has mechanics that I like.
I am really looking foward to playing that game!

I’m bringing a marvel set up since i have tekken for the 360

Re: Justin - So it happens every now and then fair enough. But the way people make it sound this random stuff is all dice roll as to who actually wins any matches ever which is not true. He is winning way more than he is loosing. And again its a new game. Just because you were good at the old game doesn’t mean you are auto good at this one.

Re Combos: So because you can execute a 100% damage combo without XFC that means you should automatically beat someone who uses XFC for their 100% what kind of sense does that make? When did winning at FGs become only about who can do the most exec heavy combo? Joo could do some crazy hard shit in Marvel 2 and he didnt get free wins. Hell I dont know if he ever got any tourney wins

Re XFC: Level 3 lasts for 20 secs. What you do depends on who they are using ect. Basically though yes you block and play safer. While the chip is big deal you can always use your own XCF to offset this. The only char I have seen who you cant do anything other than run from, and this is in my limited play mind you, is dark Phx so you kill her before she goes dark. Otherwise you should have options or you made mistakes earlier in the match that took your options away which is the same way it is in any FG.

Jas: I can bring a copy of Tek 6 for PS3 if you want to bring your PS3.

Here are things better
than ABBA: everything
Suck it, ABBA fans

Akuma’s fireball/beam super is 7+1 (7+2 in the air). Fast but not instant. Random supers are also not as powerful as you think. If you have any move with startup invuln you can probably punish the random super. You can input a command at any point during the super freeze animation and the super/special will come out the first possible frame. Wesker is especially stupid at this because he can basically use his counter super to stop any super that has a physical hit and get a free combo. Anyone with invuln level 3s can also use those.

Speaking of, how is using any super to get guaranteed free full damage a waste? If it’s level 1 you are getting more damage than you would tacked on during a combo. If it’s level 3 it’s still the same amount of damage regardless if it’s tacked on the end of a combo or not. If the result is get hit/block and not punish or use super to get guaranteed damage, I would think the choice is obvious.

Really I think a lot of complaints about the game stem from ignorance of game mechanics.

Protip: Level 3 xfc only lasts 20 seconds (real seconds, not game seconds). I didn’t say take the rushdown, I said wait it out, however you can.

Super Protip: Each match is exactly 3 minutes long if timer runs out (unless you land an animation super right before time runs out).

Is anyone gonna bring the MK9 demo tonight? I’m not a PlayStation Plus subscriber (but I’m thinking about joining) so I have to wait until next week to downlad it.

And I thought I was the only one not realy interested in MvC3 before it was released lol. But at least I gave it a try before deciding never to play it again.

So they have this thing called a damage setting in MVC3… =)

MK9, play the demo with the four characters on PSN, just realize it is a bit older than how the game actually runs…

As far as everything else:

I think I’ve called the “fair weather” fans on games since there has been a scene here, and MVC3 is no exception…after the first 3 months you will really see who cares about playing the game (hence why MVC2 was so specific for the players still playing it.

MVC players complained about MVC2, MVC2 became huge, MVC1 was forgotten, and that was a 6 button game to a 4 button game with 2 assists.

Same shit is going on with this game. Again, with this new community, most of the fighting game players always shunned Marvel because in all honestly, it’s not the same type of fighting game (nor was the series as respected skill wise) but things have changed and now you have people from all over giving it a try right now, but anyone who complains about mechanics in Tekken and SSF4 and doesn’t think low Light Attack that can lead into a gazillion hit combo with everyone is not wtf, then that sure is the pot calling the kettle black.

Bottom line, MVC3 is going to be one big wild maddening game that will evolve into broken stuff vs broken stuff, either deal or don’t play…that’s why MVC2 is viewed the way it is, LOL

I’ll just stick to MK and SF like I always have and try to play Tekken once in awhile and forever suck at it…

I don’t care how talented you are, how much time you’ve spent with the game, or how much you love Marvel 3…

Fuck Marvel.

Catch opponent’s assist character in a combo + Sougenmu + Snapback. WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF FIGHTING GAMES YEAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

Just a reminder:

And I still win. Some of you need to just shut up and go cry in the corner with SF4 and leave the people who are enjoying the game alone.

This is me today

Also, I like how people complain about damage in MvC3, and then go on to play SF4. You realize there are very doable combos in that game that will take off more than 50% of a character’s life bar, some without even using ultra (I have a Balrog combo that uses 2 ex bars and does nearly 500 damage). In MvC3 1 character is only 33% (approx depends on your team’s health values) of your total life. It’s also the added value of losing an assist but assists are not as important as they were in MvC2 imo.

Granted, SF4 you have multiple rounds but that is also why we ran MvC3 3/5.

I’m just going to keep acting like I suck at marvel then when everyone has had a chance to figure it out I’m going to unleash the beast.

Yeah cause there was nothing like that in Marvel 2 looking at you gambit glitch.

Anyone remember Gambit glitch in MvC2? It will just be tournament banned.

Also curious what you guys will find to complain about in MK9 when that comes out. :stuck_out_tongue:

How fucking ugly it is.

Or dead body infinites.

Yep. Same here. My expectations are really low for that game.

Watch this, for real. All of it. Air is one of my favorite players to watch. He’s just as good as Daigo, and more creative. Most of this stuff I had gathered from his blog and his videos but his written English is terrible so his blog is kind of hard to read. This is good even if you don’t play Ryu. Go read his blog anyway, it is still very helpful with very good insight into match ups, option selects, etc. Again, a good read for SSF4 in general, no matter who you play.
