I’m in.
Good stuff to everyone at Hastings last night. All the set ups were Marvel it was hilarious.
If it happens, I’ll be there, Eddie.
Really noobish question so please forgive me if this sounds dumb – since I barely played MvC2 (maybe five rounds total), how long does it take to learn the basic mechanics of MvC3? I don’t want to jump in, get railed and become so discouraged that I would quit playing. Is it simple to pick up and learn? I see so much shit flying around the screen that it’s impossible for me to discern what the heck is going on. Plus who are some noob friendly characters to use?
I’ve never played mvc or any tag team game outside of tekken tag. With that being said it’s rather easy to get into. Mission mode is rather helpful. It’s similar to character trials in sf4 but alot more useful for finding bnbs. The more advanced stuff like wave dashing, tri jump, ad guarding, setups, ect will come with the more time you put into it. But regardless of how much time u put into the game it’s not as overwhelming as mvc2 was. It just appears that way from the outside looking in.
Learn your BnB’s and a few homebrew setups, and once you get into a match, just listen to your gut. Quoting Lord Jas: “Marvel’s 99% instinct and 1% actual thought”. Just roll with the punches and you’ll get the hang of it.
Matt: One bit of advice, dont try to overdo it early. You dont need to learn all the most advanced combos and shit first. Get a few easy BnBs in your pocket to work with then go from there. And if you dont have it get the guide it has everything you need from basics to crazy shit.
Matt: It almost feels like the game helps you combo more easily than MvC2. What I mean is, I’ve done some incredibly crazy shit just right off the top of my head.
Thanks, everyone. All this Marvel talk makes me wanna try it. But first I need to complete Mass Effect 2…
So does someone else that I let borrow the game, but instead just lets it collect dust… ahem…
I just beat Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and man the game is great, but the ending just feels like one big “Cool Story Bro” to me. These games are always like this (well, minus the first one, that one was a little weak). Great Gameplay, pretty good story, awesome action, then lol ending.
Oh well, I got my money worth.
also, holy shit the ending credits have been rolling for like 10 minutes now what the hell.
all this assassin shit is just leaving EA open to sequels until they finally decide to wrap it up and make you play as the future world main character after he’s learned all this assassin shit over the course of ALL THE GAMES.
not to mention the crazy shit spoilers at the end. 88 miles per hour aaaaaaaaaa.
updated…
Brotherhood’s ending was like :amazed: to me.
How they gonna do my girl like that? I <3 U Kristen Bell!
Look I just need more time in the day. Tween work and FG practice time is limited.
That’s funny… cuz I did the EXACT same shit for a couple hours yesterday with Mynegro, as well haha. And he builds a bar and a half of meter by only doing that loop 3x, nearly 2 bars if you do it 4x with finish. Crazy.
Pair him with Dante after 4 loops… before they hit the ground, do
assist, C (puts them in Jam session pillar), dash j.c, dash bc, c, hard disruptor, level 3
for over 950k EVERY time.
You can also xfc immediately after your combo -> launch (low magic or cr.cs) and THEN do your loop for over 1.3 million to kill Sent off 1 hit. Do it. Do it for love. It’s super duper tight timing to hit 4 loops to a standing c off low magic, though, cuz you’re adding 2 extra hits at the beginning.
Just posted up FIGHT NIGHT HASTINGS CASUALS: MVC3 GODLIKE-RUSHDOWN VS POSHIB 2/16/11

GAMINGFLOW: GAMING FLOW
I apoligize for the really late notice on this - I will be hosting at my place starting at 5 PM today.
Finacee is gone for the weekend so I have a 3 day man break! Can I get a fuck yeah?
Kodee: LOL. I used Wesker testing out OTGs. I got up to four as well just by doing the basic magic series stuff. I only got up to three doing the those air dash loops. My airdash loop that I do is a bit different and I can sometimes hit them mid screen into a relaunch. That same loop can go into a tempest grab or a relaunch in the air afterwards.
Also, in the corner, you can do an OTG assist into Magneto’s qcb super. Gotta do it at the right time though. If you feelin really Jewish about your meter and wanna save it up for some more hurtin, you can definitely do that for bigger damage in the corner.
Also, resets and unblock setups are super fun. I’m liking Magneto the more I play him.
Yeah if you carry them to the corner with air dash loops, you can just as easily relaunch to c,s into OTG assist and something more, or shockwave -> DHC or just level 3. It’s dumb and crazy.
