TN Thread - Do it again (till he die)

There is an issue with this but… nevermind!

Ok, fees, for real this time.

Blazblue is $15, This includes venue. Marvel is $5 entry fee, $3 venue fee. BUT, if you were in the BB tourney, Marvel is $1 venue fee. So $8 total, $6 if you were in BB. At least that’s the word of mouth, may need official confirmation from Jason.

However the BB fees are what they are.

As for this… What’s the issue? I already posted about how this was not intended to take away from memphis, etc. So if that’s your only complaint then… sorry? you’re talking to the wrong people here.

Issue cleared up!

BTW, just because it was not intended does not mean it doesn’t affect things.

You Pretty much just repeat everything I said pages ago

Cool glad everything is cleared up. But I don’t think you guys have anything to be worried about. Apologies if any of my posts offended in anyway, that was not my intention. Everything I posted is simply MY opinion on this matter, and using the info I was given by Milln.

And I mean that with utmost respect for you and the rest of the Memphis players, I understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t think it’s going to be an issue. Like I said, Blazblue comes first.

If I recall correctly, didn’t Memphis hold a thing to see who would be in a city v. city SSF4 exhibition the same day as KiT (SSF4 and Tekken) when it was announced seasons ago?

It’s worth mentioning :clown:

HAHA, I’m not as careful a reader lately I suppose. I guess we agree

I’m with Orel all the way. Tourneys in completely different regions from each other, especially if they’ve formed a bond through traveling to one another’s events regularly, attempt to respect dates and will reschedule if even 2 players from both scenes expressed interest in attending the tourney that was probably planned before. It’s an etiquette issue.

It’s not about taking away players, or any petty shit. Doesn’t matter if everyone went to one over the other and the other had 3 entrants. It’s like, “why even run it in the first place?” But yo, whatever, before thread reaches 8 pages of completely missed points and Draft Lottery of who goes to what.

EDIT: Glad I played Marvel3 past few days because I won’t be able to tonight. Have fun fools. ;-(

No worries Grimstar,
I know your not the one organizing the tournament or anything. It’s just that, it’s common courtesy to either ask, or let know that there is going to be a tournament on the same day, especially around the same Region, let alone, the same state!

Regardless, this will be taken to the dustloop forums instead of this thread!

Lol we talked about that. However it’s not the same since that wasn’t the same kind of tourney. Although I think EVERYONE in TN should’ve went to KiT. It had the potential to be TN’s biggest tournament and closest we have to a “major” but, if peeps don’t show…

Later y’all. I’m gone.

Alright, well I’m going to put this as simply as possible.

The tournament in Antioch on the 26th is for Blazblue. There is a Marvel tournament afterwards, whenever BB is done with. Anyone who’s playing BB that day obviously CAN’T make it to the Memphis tournament, so just because you guys are holding one, doesn’t mean we should sit back and go “Well shit, memphis is having an MvC3 tournament today, we’re just stuck with Blazblue then!”

That’s all there is to it. The fact that it’s the same day as Memphis’ tournament was not an intended “etiquette” issue at all. No one here is trying to disrespect anyone in memphis at all by having Marvel the same day.

And if you want to talk about rescheduling tournaments as if that’s the issue, then Memphis and Nashville are holding Marvel 3 and Blazblue tourneys on the same day. Idk which was announced first though, nor do I care. But if this was the issue, then it should have been brought up waaaaaay before Marvel was even mentioned for Nashville.

Anyways, this is all just my 2 cents. Now I’m off to work, and then MAHVUL BAYBEE!!

Won’t be back for a while, so if you have any questions about this stuff, do what Lycan did and go to dustloop. Milln is the one holding the BB tourney. Talk to him. have fun with Marvel tonight!

For the guys at GG did you guys end up getting your MvC 3 games for tomorrow?.. just making sure cause I wanted to be there when you guys opened if you did…

This was my fault not anyone elses. I scheduled the RR because I was hosting at my personal residence. I picked a date that worked for me and my Wife and competently forgot about KIT. We could have rescheduled the RR but it could not have been at my home which accommodates many more people than other folk’s apartments.

In any case this was not on purpose and was all my fault.

I honestly dont see a problem with the tourney being held at Nashville the same day as Memphis. Our state is huge and honestly some people do not have the resources to drive to Memphis all the way from East TN…but one could see driving up to Nashville cheaper. Also its Blazblue…So i think that is completely different than having an AE tourney on the same day since the scenes really do not overlap alot. I think there are a total of maybe 4 BB players on this thread.

…Blazblue is ass.

Later man.

P.S. It’s all good bros. I thought these were “head-up” tourneys. Not BB tourney and then mvc3, etc. for peeps there. Why not? Makes sense.

P.S.S. Blame Sev for everything ever until next thread.

The count was something like (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) Mike, Marcus, and Terrell from Memphis and that was all for Tekken. It was good to see the Mid TN folks (I’m going to make a real effort to come out there more often), and the people in East TN who can’t make it when I host during the week. But no people from West TN for SF (I don’t count Tekken players who enter SF:rofl:) was disappointing. I’m certain they expect everyone in the state to make it to the Feb 26th tourney.

KiT is a major and it could’ve been a prelude to FR for SF too (I don’t know if I mentioned this before but the Tekken play was amazing! I was ohhing and ahhhhhhing with everyone else).

Oh well.

Holding a RR is NOTHING like holding a tournament on the same date. Again, there is alot of people here talking as if they have organized or even tried to put together a tournament. I also learned the hard way about organizing and planning. I have had to work things out with people from ATL and Chicago for holding a Memphis tournament, knowing that the Memphis tournament might not even be big.

As for KiT,
I personally announced I could not make it since I have been working every weekend for the past 3 months or so! Don’t know about anyone else but feeding my family and paying the bills comes first. I dont even know how KiT was even brought up but last I checked, I did not see alot of people last year when there was over $2,000 given away! Including you Chit! Again, a round RR has nothing to do with announcing 2 tournaments on the same date, in the same state!

Duckfarts.

k.o.

Ya, Blazblue guys asked about Marvel tournament after their BB tourney, so it’s all them…

Also, keep this in mind, players GOING to MEMPHIS from NASHVILLE are not going to play MVC3 specific. That tournament is about SSF4 more than anything. The MVC3 game is not at that level yet for specific travelers. Basically the SF and BB scenes are both trying to figure out what is what right now but this is just a casual surprise tourney they asked about that they are throwing.

No disrespect to any scene but I always make sure to work our dates around other tournaments…this is really just a casual tournament the BB guys wanted to do and that was that…

You are talking about etiquette, tell that to the guys that purposely took our MWC date major a few years back we had for 13 years and put their own date with way more money on it (Devastation) and were as rude and condescending about it as you can imagine…

I’m not going to be back from Chicago until March 16 but more tournaments will be announced since we have so many freaking games now (MVC3, AE, BB) but if anyone has dates they are throwing them in March just let me know so we can work around them…BB guys always throw one at the end of the month and they had a BB tourney the same date as COokeville SSF4 last month, no one had a problem with it, scenes are different.

I mean, again, Blazblue guys, doing their own casual MVC3 tourney after their own BB tourney. Where is all the complaining about all the GameStop/PlayNTRade/WalMart/who knows what MVC3 tournaments that are going to overlap in the state coming up? It’s a new game, no one knows who is doing what but Milln is the one who is doing a tournament after Blazblue…I just don’t see the issue with it unless we were doing SSF4 which I make 100% certain is always switched around since it is the most popular fighting game numbers wise right now in the state…
