Oh okay, I see how it is. I was there ALL DAY yesterday, you know. Where were you? Huh? HUH?
Trust me, I was thinking about it all night. That accidental Absorption Field came from me trying to wavedash backwards from a crouch-block position (DB + B + ATx2 = QCF+ATx2 -_-;). That was an honest mistake, as was me not using x-factor when I had the chance instead of hoping I’d get Dark Phoenix in.
QCF+assist = snapback. Snap her in when she doesn’t have five meter, and snap her the hell out when she does. If you ever see Phoenix on a team, your first priority is to take that bitch out as fast as humanly possible. If she comes out stay far away, block low and watch for teleport/TK shot mixup shenanigans. If she gets in, watch out for her F+M overhead and pushblock her the hell away. Beam supers if you got em. She can’t do shit against Magneto’s shockwave or Storm’s ice except maybe teleport on reaction against the shockwave but I haven’t tried that yet.
Yeah dude, no problem! Good meeting you, too! To be honest, I wouldn’t expect much out of those project boxes. If I’d had the proper wire on me, I’d have rewired the entire thing. Instead I had to opt for gluing down everything I could because the solder joints were severely brittle and most of the problems were from wires having broken off the terminals. There’s a lot of glue in those things now. Don’t expect to get those DB15 connectors off anymore.
More random shoutouts now that I’ve actually gotten sleep:
Eddie – Good seeing you again, brother. Sorry I wasn’t able to hang out much, as I had a lot of work I had to get done. If you’re at FR I can take care of your stick on Friday.
Chris – A pleasure as always. Bring that MSS to Memphis in two weeks.
Boom Cube – Good shit sneaking up out of the loser’s bracket! Shame we didn’t meet each other again in winner’s finals, but you can blame an angry scotsman and one poorly-timed wavedash for that one.
Eugene – I gotta be completely honest: I went into that tournament with the sole purpose of wanting to play you. I got to, so to me that was better than Winner’s Finals. Awesome match, dude. Awesome. And you were absolutely correct. Zoning is key in that game. Watch out for Super Skrull, though. Ask Richard, you’ll see what I mean.
Martin – Makes me proud that Memphis came in and smashed everyone else. Odd that I’d never met you before when you lived here, but I’ve only been active in the scene for two years. I definitely remember hearing the name Tin Tin, though. I should have played you with my real team instead of my goof-off warmup crew. That would have been fun.
Glasscock – BLAAAAAARGH. Kidding. Stay on top of Shaft Agent (no homo) and I’ll get that stick assembly taken care of and get it back to you ASAP.
Dimo – Please show up to the Memphis tournament in two weeks. I want a rematch! Please? PLEEEEEASE? bats eyes
Luis – good finally putting a face to the name. Sorry the stick took so long!
Phil, Mac – It was great meeting you guys. I’m sure I’ll see you both again soon.
lookitdisguy – That was awesome when we met. I can’t remember who pointed you out, but he pointed at you and went “Look at this guy.” I did, then looked back and said “Okay, what am I seeing? Who is he?” “Lookitdisguy.” “Right, I am, but who is he? Duckie gets it Ohhhhhhh…”
Jacob, Shawn – Good shit, guys! Had some good times. Oh, wait…
I know I’m missing some people, but I’m trying to trace back every match I watched yesterday.
