So, as a Sent user, there’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” thing going around. If I stick with Sent, people bitch and moan about him being an ez-mode character. If I drop him, it’s “lol n00b dropping Sent bcuz of patch.” W…T…F…
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Sent was not overpowered pre-patch. Sure, he was powerful, and yeah, his health needed a bit of a decrease, but are we forgetting what we saw at Final Round? Top 2 didn’t have Sent. In fact, they fought through waves of Sentinels, raping them all along the way. Has anyone seen the way Justin Wong has zoned Sent? It makes Sent look like Viewtiful Joe.
I use Sent because his assist helps MODOK lockdown, and it helps Hulk get in against zoners. I’d say about 80% of the matches I win are due to MODOK or Hulk anyway. Most people still don’t know how to fight MODOK, and others are still too stupid to realize 80% of Hulk’s normals are punishable.
So today I decided randomly to pick a Sega game off my shelf to play, I closed my eyes and just pointed at one. It was Elemental Master for Genesis, and it owns. Why do Sega games own so hard?!

I agree with Chit to a degree, I think the Vs series, from the start, are about doing flashy, over-the-top combos to make dudes around you say, “Oh shit! I didn’t know you could do that!” After, that then you learn how to block and it becomes closer to a competitive fighter. The game is not 100% balanced but neither are ANY of the other major competitive fighting games on the market. But learning how to get around mismatches is part of learning a fighting game. There are just more block strings and cross-ups to learn than most fighters because there are more character combinations. Randomness? Indeed there are a lot weird things that can happen in the game, but name a fighting game in which nothing unexpected ever happens that can cost you the match. Fighting games are in and of themselves huge glitches in the the video game market. A majority of the things we call “mechanics” of the game are glitches that have been exploited to the point of becoming standard. Special cancels? Kara cancels? Fuzzy guarding? Option-selecting? Plinking? Negative edging? I could go on but you get the idea. I just think people should stop complaining about the glitches and learn how to defend against them. Most of the people complaining about the randomness of the game simply haven’t put in the time and effort to learn the game and its quirks. Guilty Gear is much the same way, if you don’t play the game and watch high level competition, you just see a bunch of flashing colors and then “Slash”. It’s not because everything was totally random and unfair to one player or the other, its just that your eyes haven’t adjusted to the speed of the game and you don’t necessarily understand the “mechanics” therein. I’ve play a number of people who don’t understand that you can OTG in MvC3 to continue combos. They complain that I’m cheating or the characters are broken because they don’t understand all of the gameplay features. Most of us hear are like that’s just a thing in the game, while others are like “WTF was that!?!!” So if you learn the characters and their unique styles and quirks, then you will understand how and why this combo took apart my character and burned them to a crisp and now that I know that I’ll learn/train myself to avoid this set up, but if you don’t then its just like that was just random and I can’t do anything about it. It takes time to learn but the game isn’t totally broken to the point of not being competitive.

Mvc3 is fun,play it and stfu or don’t play it at all. It’s a new generation for the fighting game community and a new generation of gamers so fg are not gonna be what they once were that’s just the way it is. Accept it and move on or drop it and move on. I just deal with it,it’s like whatever i just don’t want to take it as serious because i don’t see any good coming from it in the long run especially when i’m trying to make time for other more productive things cause summer is right around the corner and travel time is coming ha!
But love it or hate it marvel is marvel and it will always be fun to play regardless of what you love or hate about the series. We sit here and find the need to always bitch about the game but yet we keep coming back to play more of it,why is that?

That’s why i hate the series with a passion because i can’t stop playing them lol you know how many times i quote on quote quit/retired from mvc2? from 04 to 07 i retired like 14 times lmao! Sadly you can’t take the series serious but we do anyways because the games manipulates our minds to think that we can. I feel bad for Rukus,Sev,bishop and boomcube really because you guys have been ensnared in a web you will never break out of. You guys may love the game now but trust me the hate will come sooner or later but the sad part is that you wont be able to stop lol marvel forever owns your souls now and the need for that crack will only grow. Marvel sucks balls and i hate it with a passion!!! So i guess tonight i’ll get my crack fix then,who is bringing the crack? i’m bringing it along with the syringes and rubber bands:rofl:
I play it because it is fun. I am going to start going to tournaments soon because that is also fun. I do things because they are fun. 
over simplifying everything is always a fun game too.

Now that i have a gig, I will for sure. Tekken is the best, but more than two (now only one) people playing it in our area would be nice.
I tried getting into Tekken 6 for a while, but for that reason right there I couldn’t muster the effort to get good at it. But knowing you and cody play, and if patrick gets into it, I’m definitely up for it. I’ll probably be getting Tag 2 regardless.
