I’m gonna stop it right here man, because it’s unfair for me to comment on BB seeing as how it’s one of my top 10 most hated things in the world and definitely the #1 video game I loathe. Alot of people know this. My personal hatred toward this series is so strong. I respect Smash way more than I do BB, no doubt. But if you guys have fun with it…whatever. Good shit. How can I tell someone what not to play? It just irritates me when people try to make that game more than what it is. But I outright have to say something when they try to compare it to other stuff in regards of it being this seriously competitive and intense fg. I’m not going to get into all that though, because I really hate anything about that game. God…
I’m just keeping it real. Plus, I’m not saying Marvel is “trash”. It is what it is. And it’s not about difficulty of execution and stuff like that. Or anything like that which put GG, Tekken, or other fgs on a pedestal. It’s about how shit pans out at it’s core. Ultimately, any fg is gonna reward the better player, one who uses the most common sense, then extends to reactions/execution/knowledge/etc. It’s just about how each of these systems boils down to that. We can approach everything with a competitive nature and dissect it until we’re doing podcasts on the colors of outfits. But some shit is simply a better gauge of things than others. That’s all I’m saying.
Btw, I’m playing this Hard Corps: Uprising and anyone who has ever played Contra, Metal Slug, any of those games knows this feeling. When you get Spread Gun and try to hold on to it no matter what because it’s so fucking awesome. But you’re raping with it so bad that the game gets mad and you’re like, “Just let me make it to this boss and get it to at least 75% before a fuck-up. Please. God, I need this. Please.” Then you get hit by something offscreen randomly and lose it. I swear it feels like you just lost everything you ever loved. Games back in the day used to teach kids to value stuff. There’s starving children that don’t have Spread Guns, never had Spread Guns. And you carelessly lost yours. No you can’t go to village shop and buy another. This shit might not randomly generate in item box again until next Tuesday. Serves you right. Now take your standard Single Shot and kill this centipede with Elton John’s head on it, however long it takes.
And we grew up more self-sufficient, better people for it.
LOL i fucking hate you. Need to play this game again. I played the trial and like, i dunno I guess it didn’t grab me right away like I thought it would. To be fair I didn’t give it much time though.
Edit: I just watched it. These guys “new generation’ed” the game and upgraded their characters and weapons to the extreme. Rising Mode lets keep playing through stages, collecting points, and then spending them to customize. It’s a cool little mode, until you keep going and build a god-tier soldier and just break the game completely. I’m currently playing through this level now in Arcade Mode. With guns that only shoot ONCE. It’s hell.
This just ridiculous though. I almost hate I bought this bitch(DLC):

Oh. You probably were just going through a homo period in your life during that time. It’s okay. The Konami code forgives you.
My opinion about mvc3 hasn’t changed other than i like playing it even more now than i did before. It’s still a fun game despite of certain things and i still don’t really plan on stop playing the game at least for now. Yes the game can be played competitively to an extent and i’ll still keep playing it as long as we have a scene here i’m just not gonna take the game as serious as other ppl may,i’m sorry i just can’t lol the more i play it the more i’m convinced to just play the game for fun and nothing else,i’m still gonna keep getting better anyways so no worries there and i’ll still go to tourneys and such and play it but i just can’t see myself taking this game too serious right now at least. Maybe my mind will change in the future then maybe it wont, needless to say i will still play the game and kick ass in it cause it’s fun lol
FlyMike: You have said some things tonight that will go in my Facebook favorite quotes.
SlawADC: Lycan will beat you tomorrow much like I beat you with my 2-week old Rog and you will disappear from the scene for another 4 months. Stay free sir!
Also, if the rumors are true, just another 3 months before AE DLC! We will all be able to move on in life shortly!
I also can’t wait until Capcom’s Captivate so we can see some Street Fighter x Tekken footage. I hope this game can pull the Tekken and Street Fighter communities together. We shall see I guess.
As long as his damage, combos, armor, and assist remain unchanged Sent will be fine. He will still have trouble against those with instant overheads against him. Those match ups will be harder up close due to the health nerf. My reaction is meh?
I only like the Mavel 3 Sent nerf because now Marn should be even extra salty. After throwing away Marvel 3 at FR, even with pre-patch Sentinel…dude should be about one more balance patch away from turning into the world’s fattest can of Morton’s.
I can come by on Saturday but I gotta get gone around 6 cause hockey game. So, probably just going to watch/talk to nobody/maybe record some matches again like I did last time. No tournaments unless I can guarantee a quick 0-2
I was kinda thinking about this same shit last week. We want a better fighting game community and games that support it but that face-to-face arcade scene is gone. You don’t have that level of skill and ability and sheer practice value anymore, not outside of Cali or Japan or wherever anyone would like to kid themselves into believing it exists anymore. It might still exist, but not as prolifically as it used to, and the publishers and developers have to consider this. As much as we want to say “well nobody’s good because they don’t go to arcades” the current market is designed to produce – in massive quantities – online warriors that have never stepped into a social fighting game scene, let alone an arcade, in their entire lives. Even if games are designed to compensate for 95% of internet lag/problems, the other 5% are left to the gamer to incorporate into their game. The result is a national scene that’s not too closely-knit locally and supported only by the internet, both in training and in community involvement.
As long as online gaming is a thing (read: now until a long time from now) we’re gonna have players that incorporate shitty online tactics into their game thinking they work and you’re gonna keep having a culture that mass-produces scrubs that whine about Sentinel being too powerful, and only because it’s a gaming culture that no longer finds satisfaction in losing to a better player surrounded by friends and rivals at an arcade. There’s no instant gratification in seeing your BP go down, there’s no instant gratification in a losing streak against somebody you’ve never met before. Games are about instant gratification and if it’s not instantly gratifying or rewarding to get better at a game by losing until you don’t lose anymore, people will complain until it’s easier for them to feel like they’re good enough to win – even if they really aren’t.
Feast on that shit. Ugh. If it makes anybody sick it should.
But I came in 10 years too late to be cool. I just want to play fighting games, man, I’ll take what I can get. I took my first step in really learning Tekken tonight when Cody came by and showed me some A. King/Miguel shit, and I think I’ll stick with it this time just cause I see people playing it at tournaments. Plus, Tekken tournament noise is the best noise.
