watch Sent is going own scrubs anymore now they wont fear him scrub:HE GOT NERFED IM CHARGING IN!!! Sent:BOOM CHUCK NORRIS KICK TO THE FACE! Scub: WTF!
The best part is in the last pic, presumably before he goes out to rescue more people, he looks annoyed by it all. Like a real life Shikamaru
Anybody who “mained” Sent and stop using him now after a useless patch is a fucking scrub. No doubt about it. This definitely weeds out the people who are clueless cocksuckers. Which is a good 85% of the scene anyway.
And folks at Capcom are still oblivious idiots. Touching shit that didn’t even affect the competitive masses. People who got raped by Sent before will still get raped now. At most, people who spam drone/beam assists or whatever will lose him a bit easier, but that’s it.
Them patching the game this early(or at all), plus the reason why Daisuke Ishiwatari isn’t bringing back GG(read the interview, I think he was brainwashed by a lab of dumbasses) is why I don’t play these new pieces of shit until I come to Hastings or go to a random tourney. This generation is full of weak-minded slaws, content on everything regressing back to PONG days, which probably still has more depth than recent shit. SF4 was a good entrance point. Pulled in loads of players. Ok good job. Now let’s take this new generation, mesh it with the old, and move forward with competitive titles and real depth that doesn’t include renaming obvious tactics and dissecting them in a youtube video (DHC TRICK? Really? REALLY? If this were 2000 era dudes would’ve just did that shit because they came across it, it made sense, and just put it in their game. It would’ve been called “playing” by the 2 people who felt the need to even address it.) Nope. Now everything is going to be dumber and more easymode than the previous.
It’s really irritating now. Especially when you have developers like Ishiwatari saying “Guilty Gear got too hardcore for some people, so we wanted to reset the level of entrance. BlazBlue was the answer to it. Also, the generation of Guilty Gear players has become a certain age ? maybe a little bit too old for playing games. So making that reset brings in a new generation of fighting game players. Then they will be with us for the next few years.”
WHAT? That’s why you made BB for the easymode noob gen. You catered to that audience. They’ll be with you mashing D for the next few years. Yay. You get paid, you win. Now stay faithful to your “hardcore” franchise and the people who even made you relevant when Capcom was churning out fgs every few months. If he’s still having shit to do with games, why the hell would we be too old to play them? Unless everyone started playing GGX when they were 40+. And other developers are thinking the same thing about their titles. It’s going to continue to become a cater fest and eventually you’ll hear them saying "We want everyone to be able to play Capcom vs SNK 3, even toddlers. By only using one button for everything and having a random attack come out this makes the game accessible to all ages and maintains BALANCE, because no one knows what is going to happen. We feel that this is the new exciting direction of fighting games."
Now I just want to play Scrabble. That is, until they patch it and put whole words on the blocks. For NEW GENERATION OF GAMERZ.
^^I think a game that levels up with the player so to speak is the best sort of fighting game.
As an example Street Fighter can be very basic, and it can also be very advanced, but you’ll never be able to truly play it until you master the basics to incorporate it into advanced strategy.
More or less I don’t think it’s a good idea for a competitive fighting game to have Super Smash Brothers style learning curve where basic game play factors nothing into high level play, so much so that you shouldn’t even try to learn basics and master other mechanics instead.
I don’t know where Marvel stands on this yet, there may be some mechanic no one has discovered yet that takes an insane amount of practice and only makes 3 characters viable at high level play, but otherwise I think they did an ok job of making a wide audience able to get into it.
Also, if a game is too complicated no1 will like it.
Lmao! This thread gets funnier and funnier by the minute. Oh well, I’m glad i mostly play rpg’s and tekken 6 now. Sent got nerfed so what? he’s still free now as he was before, learn to block that is all.
And damn is Chris a beast or what? I had no idea his slow ass was this good lol!! Chip, chip, chip, jump NOPE! get back down here!!! Chip, chip, chip, dead!! lol!!
I got no prob with SF4 besides the initial shock of “wtf is this” when it first came out, and afterwards having came to terms that it is just dry and boring as fuck, in my personal opinion. Marvel 3 was “fun” for first few days, but it’s so dumb, even with everything people try to incorporate in it. The only reason I’ll be able to play it if I go to Hastings tomorrow is ONLY because I have not touched it SINCE I was at Hastings last wednesday. Can’t stand to look at that tired shit anymore. High chain->super or low chain->super. Rinse repeat until dea-X FACTOR!-th. 50/50’s all day if we’re both smart. Might as well just go outside and flip coins at least for the fresh air .
SF4 is the overall “better” fg. Def takes more skill to win high level. Marvel 3 is more “creative”/“fun” I suppose. But I cant even say it takes more dexterity or reaction anymore. Shit is just…there.
I for one welcome our OTG overlords.
They didnt change it for me. I could care less about the game. It’s just not my style! I didnt’t go on Capcom unity and cry to the masses. LOL.
OK… lets do a FT5 tomorrow to see who knows more about this game. I mean, you are the one saying that people wont be happy until it’s SSF4 right? Surely you can beat a crybaby gamer who doesn’t like the game right? Again, I could care less if it is or isn’t like SSF4. I just know YOU can’t beat me in Marvel. Not now, and not in 1 year!
this guy has clearly played Blazblue on a competitive level
Well marvel 3 is just marvel 3,it is what it is. I don’t even pretend to take this shit remotely serious anymore. I play it cause frankly the game is still hella fun to play more so than any other game being played competitively right now but mvc2 will always be the far superior and better game and as much as i get bored playing ssf4 that game still requires far more skill to play at a high level than marvel 3 does. But as long as ppl still play mvc3 here i will continue to play also.
Skill-wise, MVC3 is about as tough as trying to decide if a shirt smells too bad to wear for another day or not.
You also have to take into consideration Marvel has only been out a month, and if we said month one Street Fighter High level play toke alot of skill I think something would be seriously wrong.
95% of the Memphis/Nashville scene would have won or gone to the gamestop national finals. It’s not like high level now is even intermediate level a year from now.
Actually, I’m pretty sure he CAN beat you at Marvel.
Like, if I had $5, I’d put it on him.
Which reminds me: can someone loan me $5 tomorrow? Don’t worry, you’ll get it right back.
Did I even want to? Seeing two people auto-pilot loop each other for 2/3 matches already puts me to sleep. The only thing keeping the players from dozing off is the constant screaming the characters do each time they do a move that requires a full speech while doing it.
Be for real.
I lawl’ed so loud. The cat ran into the other room.
I used to say this. But how much transforming do you think this game is going to do? Besides taking away the “creativity” some people want to preach about, and locking players into “you do this, and do it everytime, or you die” style of play. Yea I can see that happening later.
I must be really really easily entertained.
I think the game will transform into something that won’t be fun for most people to play anymore, I’m trying to enjoy everyone being a scrub at it while I can. I think it will become, “You got hit once, deal with unblockable, or really really hard to block shit untill you die.” With one or two teams being the only tournament takers.
There’s a ceiling to how people play, they just keep readjusting. Super Turbo high level play is still about the same it was 10+ years ago, just different people got into it…I went to GameStop National Finals for SF4 and of course comparing then to now it’s different but I don’t necessarily think it’s safe to assume high level SSF4 play will keep morphing…I know the game is fairly new still, but unlike ST and 3s, the internet age allowed 6-7 years of high level gameplay to be contracted into 1-2 years…not everyone will get to that point…
I mean, SF4 is now what, 2+ years old? As much as people improved the best thing that can be done now is CONSTANT play and practice to stay warm and be ahead of the game but it’s not always going to lead to being the best player…
I agree it gets boring watching a combo video over and over, but you’re selling it short calling it “noob ez mode” while it IS easier than GG, and it’s not GG, it’s still got it’s complicated combos and heavy input crap. as for “auto pilot combos” what game are you not going to do optimal combo? they’re just longer than most games is all, which I do agree is kind of boring after a while
When is the last time you saw me play Marvel seriously? And like I said at Fox, I am proving a point. But I would LOVE to take that bet!!! Please, oh god, someone bet me that Josh can beat me in Marvel! Beer Matches, SON!!!
Josh… wanna make it a beer match? You know, since I am a crybaby and all!
Lycan: Your practicing the game now as you admitted on AIM. If you beat anyone you issued your “challenge” to it will be because you practiced a month nullifying your random argument anyway lol. But I still think you beat Josh for free whether you play the game or not
Mike: Really dude. Now your saying SF4 is ok and Marvel is trash. You…praising SF4 in some way wow I dont even know what to say to that. Marvel lets you be creative, has an easy entry point exec wise and more advanced stuff becomes more difficult. Holding d/b wont do much for you either. What kind of execution are you looking for in a game? Were combos or whatever in GG really that hard? Does them being hard make them better? As for dissecting the game well thats the internet age. But really if players all have these special tools it all comes down to the better player and not if a person knows a gimmick. How is that not better? And every game eventually ends up with a series of best things to do or chars to use in a given situation to maximize your chances of winning. As it is now at least Marvel 3 isnt made up of like 5 chars.
Jas: Man you flip flop on this game like crazy. Right after FR you were all about it and excited to play. Now you dont take it serious but you want Mem to travel and play it cause you think our base of players is strong. You confuse me lol
