TN THREAD - Dateline: How to catch a Oni

lol your game changed a little

Well this thread has gone to shit. When’s the next one start?

Who the fuck cares about sent nerf… he’s a boring as shit character anyways, it’ll be nice to see him used less.

http://www.facebook.com/marvelvscapcom3/posts/192926437412535 CAPCOM BE TROLLIN

Just to spite Duckie the next nerf will be that Phoenix gains all of Sentinel’s lost health but loses the ability to go Dark Phoenix.

Dude, if she lost that dark phoenix gimmicky shit, I would use her. For real.

Honestly, I’d actually take that. Didn’t even have to think about it.

You’re either sick in the head or a saint among men.

Regular phoenix damage owns too when used correctly.

They need to just nerf her damage output.

or not, I like seeing the internet cry over this dumb game. Don’t care either way.

Best ever is MVC3 itself IS a troll. The fact that Sentinel has been damage changed the first MONTH? LOLOLOLOL, this whole thing is hilarious to me. I love watching everything implode just like when MVC2 came out.

There is one other thing I have to say that I’m glad I caught onto this day and age with the way fighting games are bring made…when a game such as MVC3 which has so much STUFF going on and they have an opportunity to BALANCE an already imbalanced game, Capcom (or other said company) can adjust things anytime they want and it makes the official guide have incorrect information when you pick it up off the shelves now. This makes it even trickier to do a guide to say the least.

This brings up an interesting question. Wouldn’t Brady want to have some kind of stipulation in their contract or something that the game cant be changed/patched for some time so the guide isnt made obsolete in 30 days?

I hope they start patching SF every 30 days that shit would be funny.

I don’t even think that would even come up, it’s fairly new the whole idea of this happening. SF has been patched for a glitch and maybe something with Fei Long I thought awhile back, but to me once a game is on shelves, that’s it but this whole game just reeled in everybody. It really is not meant to be take so seriously, but everyone is all about it and it’s just supposed to be fun, which it is, just like MVC2, but in order to make it tournament worthy you have to do all this stuff to do it. With as much complaining as there was on this thread about SF4 and SSF4 it’s funny to see the stuff in this game kind of shrugged aside because MVC series has ALWAYS had wild stuff going on.

With the new guide we just did, we had this in mind, that the game would be patched, things would change, and incorrect info would be in the guide if we allowed it to stay in, so in order to have the most up to date info, you have to sacrifice other stuff because of this but there should be an update on Brady’s site with new info for MVC3 honestly…that would make 100% sense to keep the info fresh.

SSF4 was patched to remove infinites, several glitches with new SSF4 characters, and the unblockable ultra stuff. Within the first month I think.

I still don’t think Capcom plays their games before releasing them. Ever.

Neither does Namco, unless they really meant for Bob to be that lol in 6.0

I haven’t really been having problems with Sentinel lately, and now it’s just easier. I like it. Mainly because I never enjoyed the fact that he was in this game.

Normal Phoenix is fun. Her damage in her normal form doesn’t need to be nerfed though. Look at Wesker’s or Dante’s… they do more with normal magic series and assists.

SSF4 patches at the very least were not meant to be there. They just changed how Sentinel plays (combos being taken away) and lowered his health! That’s completely different.

lawl, next thing you know the guides will be like

Sentinel:

HP - Well it was pretty good at the time
Strategy - You should just avoid his attacks, and like, kill him. Unless he becomes invincible with the next patch.

I’m going to have to co-sign this one. I have been saying since day 1 I felt that they rushed the game to market. The original release date for the game was June 3 I believe. I think that was a much better time table in my opinion to make sure silly glitches and infinites that they didn’t want in the game could be eliminated once the game hit selves. And let’s not even begin to talk about the online modes. I don’t think certain characters were tested enough either (Phx, Sent, and Spencer being the most notable). I almost feel like Capcom didn’t hire any testers and wanted us to be the ones to find any issues that may arise. Yea in a game like this with 30+ characters, each with 3 different assist and combos upon combos able to be performed, issues are sure to arise but its just so early.

As for the Sent nerf, Sev and I had a talk about the nerf and he made some really good points about the negative effects of the nerf, one being he has a hitbox the size of Texas so a lot of characters will now be able to kill him in one simple combo with one opening. Open my eyes a little not gonna lie. However, I still stick to the idea that he needed some type of nerf, just not to the degree they did it. I think Woot stated that he has less Health than certain Rushdown characters now…crazy much?

Oh well, can’t wait for the Phoenix nerf! The complaining should really get underway then!

Okay, screw anything anyone else has to say about anything for the rest of the day, because Hideki Aikawa is a badass, and you need to read his story.

Seriously… dude managed to get scuba gear, save his wife in the middle of a ten-foot raging tsunami, and then go back a few days later for his mother… read the story. Really.

What is everyone bitching about? Nerfing his damage would’ve been a much bigger deal. This is really complaining about nothing
