Thats pretty shitty advice… considering people said jump a lot already, and your suggesting to drop the character that you play as and learn a completly different top tier one just to beat Makoto :wonder:
alright. i dint wanna come up with this because its a really high level tactic. But the best thing to do against a makoto ( wich takes alot of training ) as soon as you see the oponent as selected makoto, drop the stick and calmly go away without saying a word.

Seriously though, I love how people are like “OMG I don’t wanna learn another character!” like it’s hard or something. Every character has like 3 things that are unique to them. Abuse those and the other universally broken shit in 3S. Par example, use Elena against Makoto and MASH b+rh ALL DAY. This beats Makoto for free. If she starts jumping in with her super homo forward, start early jumping with rh, then dash, and make her guess between a throw and b+rh.
Elena = b+rh > Makoto
That’s just one example. Use your fucking brains you animals. Start thinking more!

What happens in tournies if you can’t switch a char? You have to know how to deal with every char with your char. But if you still lose, you can just blame the broken game.
Good thinking man. Learning counter characters puts you at a huge disadvantage in one character tourneys. Unless you play Q, Makoto isn’t that bad.
Then use an all-around broken character like Chun. How many tourneys in the US/Canada are single character? Not many…

If you are Ken or Ryu, one thing that you can do is to poke with random crouching medium punches from a distance that is not next to her but close enough that if she dashes that she will get hit. If the medium punch connects, then you can super, or if you are unsure, EX-Hadouken to push them away.

anyways…keeping your character in neutral is by far the best thing to do in pretty much any sf game…the more you block, the more you show that you don’t know the game, the character, the matchup, or your opponent.
