Hey, thanks man. I appreciate that. I’ll test some stuff today, hopefully get working with one of those characters you mentioned!

Looks like it might be worthwhile to have Storm or X-23 on your team because you can reset the damage scaling on your combos with Weapon X Prime or Elemental Rage DHCed into Devil Trigger. Doing my normal Dante combo, then TACing into Taskmaster, mmh, Swing, mm, TAC into Storm, mhs, then Elemental Rage DHCed into Devil Trigger, launch, mmh, Thunder Bolt x 3 does 1,069,100. No X-Factor, 2 meters spent, 2-4 meters gained, depending on how you TAC.
If you don’t like TACs, doing Storm’s lm cr. h, j. :df:Lightning Attack, lm cr. h, launch, j. mhs, Elemental Rage as a replacement for the first part of the combo nets you 812,800.
Shine we rep the Same team,
Except different assist.
I normally give Dante, Weasel Shot, Trish Peekaboo, and Zero it varies from Shippuga or his Zaber projectile.
I made a list of all the moves you can use Devil Trigger DHCed into Aegis Counter against: (Wesker’s Rhino Charge should be similar)
Phantom Dance (full screen), Lost in Nightmares (point blank), Sweep Combo (outside first attack’s range), Messatsu-Goshoryu (outside first attack’s range), Servbot Surprise (point blank), Skrull Torch (h attack range), Death Penalty, Hyper Battering Ram (l attack range), Emergency Combination (outside first attack’s range), Iron Avenger (max range), Hyper Charging Star (l attack range), Final Justice (max range), Duet Pain (point blank), Maximum Spider (if back is against the wall), Crawler Assault (l attack range), Bionic Lancer (max range), Mach Speed (Volcano range), Berserker Barrage X (l attack range), Fatal Claw (point blank), Cuttin’ Time (max range), Darkness Illusion (l attack range), Dancing Flash (l attack range), Rage Trigger (full screen), Weapon X Prime (h attack range), Hard Drive (Volcano range), Rapid Fire Fist (outside first attack’s range), Giant Haggar Press, Gamma Crush
A kind of funny case is Chun’s Shichisei Ranka. Devil Trigger actually is invincible on the frames where her first hit occurs, so you can DHC into an invincible hyper or a hyper with a fast enough start up. Aegis Counter actually wears off before Chun lands her next hit. I can actually DHC into Sougenmu and launch her before her next attack hits. Legion Arrow is fast enough to trade with her. Hail Storm will get Storm out of the way and hit Chun with all 35 hits.
Yea, I switched from Jam Session I couldn’t use it the way I wanted to which was essentially to cover the air for Trish so now he goes Weasel Shot to help Zero rushdown, and Zero goes Ryuenjin to cover the air for Trish. Although, I’m thinking I might replace Zero or Trish. I’m thinking more than likely I’d replace Zero just because Trish is from DMC.
so I was using Dante (A1), Tron (A2) and Ammy (A2), but recently I’ve noticed I’m not that good with Ammy.
Who should I switch her for? Trish?
Currently experimenting with a team of Dante(Jam Session)/Sent(Sent Charge)/Dorm(Purification). My strategy is using Sent’s assist combine with Air Trick to get Dante close to his opponent. I am having a great deal of fun doing the mixup game with Dante. Purification Assist is primarily for defensive purposes. Both Sent and Dorm can play the keep away game since I am very vulnerable to air combos so it’s better to just not give my opponent that chance to get up close.
Dante is my point so I like to leave him in as long as possible but when he’s having a hard time either Sent or Dorm can do a nice job holding the fort while Dante recovers his hp. XF can be used in conjunction with Dante’s Devil Trigger for hp recovery, Dorm’s Chaotic Flame for massive damage, or Sent with his beams and HC.
It’s a versatile team with a bit of everything. Dante has so many ways of dealing damage that you can play any kind of style you want with him.
Hi guys ! Never posted before .
I’m using Wesker ( Samurai Edge ) , Ammy ( Cold Star ) and Dante ( Jam Session ), but i don’t know if change Dante in 1st place , but the char gives me good results there.
What do you think ?
Also, i’ll look other chars, but Dante will stay always in any team.
I saw ‘matchup’ on this thread, but I’ve not seen anyone write anything about how Dante can deal with Sentinel (the ONLY character in the game giving me so much grief). Can someone point me at the appropriate thread?
I’ve settled for a Zero/Spencer/Dante team but I’m not sure which assist to use for Dante. I primarily rock out Zero with one of the Dante assists but I’m not too sure what to use. Jam session covers screen vertically but is hard to combo after when doing Zero crossup, Crystal OTGs and is good for Zero crossup assist but is easy to hit Dante out of it so leads to him taking a lot of damage with a risk and Weasel shot requires some spacing when using it with crossup so will not always come in contact but is good for keep away.
Which would people recommend for my team?
Dante (Jam Session) / Taskmaster (Up Arrows) / Dr.Doom (Hidden Missles).
Just…Win…In the right hands ofcourse.
Or Take out Doom, for C.Viper, just for the extra rushdown, (Ofcouse she takes a lot of inputs though :/)
Since I’m a pad player and fairly new, of course, you know I went to Dante. He’s a solid char with the ability to hang in high level competition. So I have two teams made up with him in it.
First, my watered down Mike Ross Team: Dante/Hulk/Sentinel
Since Storm’s a lil’ difficult for a newbie like myself to learn and play effectively yet, I swapped her for Dante. I like how Ross has his team set: Storm at point, Hulk who has a good amount of HP and can do some damage just second to Sentinel (when he can get in) second, and the anchor being, as expected, Sentinel. I wanted this “plan” to stay intact as much as possible with my own team.
As I saw it, Storm is good for both rushing and turtling (runaway) so I had to pick a char that could do the same. Fortunately, I have that with Dante though not to the same level when it comes to runaway, but he has the tools to keep his distance if used correctly with the right assists, like Sentinel-?'s for example. Also, both Storm and Dante have Hypers (namely Storm’s Ice Storm and Dante’s Million Dollars) that punish assists and can be done long range, though… yeah, isn’t as broad or causes chip damage like Storm’s. In Devil mode, Dante’s amazing in the air even if it is for just a few seconds, so his air game’s not quite like Storm’s. Really, runaway isn’t as well rewarded in 3 as it was in 2, so I don’t really wanna do that too much in my opinion.
Dante, like Storm, is good for building meter and also has good hypers worth burning meter for if I so chose to. Dante’s quick and mobile (has the teleport, double jump) and with air projectiles, he can punish and do it quickly somewhat safely and “like Storm” in a way, has long reaching combos and a great overhead in the Hammer.
Yeah, so for a guy like me who shies away from Storm, Dante is a good choice and fits well with team “Mike Ross”.
My second team: Chris/Dante/Sentinel
This to me is the MVC3 team reminiscent of team Scrub in MVC2 (Cable/Sentinel/Cpt. Commando). That’s really so when you chose the right assists for this team, that being:
[]Dante-? (Jam Session)
[]Chris-? (Gun Fire M)

Sentinel-? (Sentinel Force)
Chris is best at point in this team. He may not seem like it, but he is with his game mostly focusing of pelting the opponent with Gun Fire and Grenade Toss. Using Dante’s Jam Session assist has helped keep opponents away some when they got close or a lil’ overhead as I annoyingly use Gun Fire. Using Sentinel Force assist while using Gun Fire M is pretty good.
With Chris, I rarely use meter. I don’t really see his hypers being practical. Only one I do like is Satellite Laser because it has an invulnerability in the start so it’s good when you wanna punish hyper combos but, yeah, I probably won’t use it (“Don’t waste meter,” is what I tell myself). Unless, somehow, he becomes the last character standing then maybe I’ll use it. I found making him the point char is best for me though.
When the opponent has gotten closer I just lay down mines under the cover of assists. It’s all about chip damage with my Chris and Chris has very easy combos, perfect for newbies like myself. He sets up well for Dante.
With Dante in this team, it’s so good. By the time Dante’s in I would have hoped to have at least gotten rid of one of my opponent’s characters. Chris has 1 million+ HP if I remember right (correct me if I’m wrong) so he should last me some, now Dante’s like 900K, but that’s okay, Dante can evade better and can constantly barrage the opponent, so it’s all good.
I basically play the same as I would when he’s on point in my first team but I try to be somewhat cautious since he is second in and I have to prep for Sentinel. I want to make it easier for myself if Sentinel does have to come in, so I may play some keep away or use Devil mode and take to the air and fire QCF+Ss and other shenanigans.
As for Sentinel, I won’t go into it because, well, I don’t have to–everyone plays him the same. I thought too, it’s also a good swap to have Phoenix for Sentinel. I don’t play her at all, but with a Chris/Dante pair, she may be the better choice. (Like having 4 characters) Either way, by the time the anchor is out, my bar should be at Max is what I expect.
I hope some of you guys can find this useful and please, offer me some advise that could help either of my teams and really bring out my Dante. I’m always open for advice…
I definitely think you should stick to and harness your Zero/Chun/Dante team. One of Zero’s greatness is comboing into a THC to kill off an opponent. I’m not sure, but after an aerial combo into Rekkoha, can he THC into Chun’s Kikosho hyper? I would imagine so. In that case, that would be good. Ammy’s a good choice too, but IDK, for the sake of simplicity, I say play Zero. Looks like a super solid team.
every dante team I tried to build so far has him going last, but I definitely like wesker-a/trish-y/dante-a. I’ve been testing out this team lately and it has a lot of DHC potential.
been usin Zero, Dante. Sent for a while but dropped sent cause it felt 2 easy an cheapish, so now its Zero, Dante,Tron. Zero at projectile, Dante anti air, an Tron with Gustaff. But i don’t really know what assist 2 put zero on
I’m having a bit of a team identity crisis. I am rocking Dante/Magneto/Viewtiful Joe at the moment, though i not sure about how compatible the three are. I use Jam Session,Disruptor, and Groovy Upper as the assists. Should I change the assist types, order or even a character?
Team DMD(Dante Must Die)
Dante - A - Jam Session
Magneto - A - Magnetic Disruptor
Dormammu - A - Dark Hole
Any tips?
The new Team due to great synergy
Wesker (B)
Dormammu (a)
Dante(a)
Everything is silky smooth with this team the zoning with Dorm and Dante is just silly unless someone has a teleport and Between Dante and Wesker, there is more than enough Mixup and meter flying around to keep everyone on the team nice and cozy with DHCs Snap-back and other nice things
BTW, since the Sentinel nerf, I have decided to play Phoenix with my Dante team. That low life’s redic’, son. I have to play way smarter and that ish is not cool . Wolvie/Dante/Hulk or Wolvie/Dante/Phoenix…
