For myself I prefer not to plan my loss when I start my match, and it’s not like Dante is that bad as anchor.

Buy again, I play Wesker as anchor so…

I prefer magnus in the back, dante gets more from disruptor than magnus gets from jam session, and magneto is a significantly better anchor so for me dante/magnus >>>>>>>>>>>>> magnus/dante

What do you guys think about Dante/Vergil/Doom (plasma) ? Or vise versa for the brothers order.

The only horizontal assist I see people using these days is either Magneto or Task/Hawkeye arrows never Doom’s. Is it to slow? I played Doom in vanilla but refused to play him now cause he turned into such a scrub fest however with Plasma beam I feel its fine lol.

Ive been playing Strider anchor but still soul searching for dat Horizontal assist that isn’t Mag at the moment. Arrows and stinger BC tele ruins my BNB also

People don’t really like the scaling from Doom’s beam…plus some short characters like Morrigan or Ammy can completely duck under the beam. Although having Vergil second should help with the scaling issue.

I’ve personally been using Dante/Doom/Strider as a side team and been liking that. Which that team was kind of an inspiration for the Viper/Missiles/Jam Session team I may want to main soon.

VXDante has been using Missiles quite well (Japanese Dante running (Dante/Doom/Phoenix)

dooms beam is slow and needs to be covered it scales combos badly and usually puts the opponent in a wonky soft knockdown that’s a pain to convert off at certain angels and distances but… it has one of the strongest durabilities and plows through everything on the horizontal plane. It’ll beat drones so long as not all the mini sents are in front of him if they are it’ll leave one drone it also has a long block stun making it a beam lock down assist hybrid. It’s the best beam to use if your going for a high low mix up on a grounded opponent which Dante can use but if it hits it kinda sucks.

Yeah Iron Man’s unibeam is much better for creating momentum off of hit and block situations. Doom beam is better for lame out with characters like Hawkeye unless you’re playing a team that is just going to convert into TAC infinite or somebody with a DHC or multi super combo that will still do big damage like Wolverine.

Howeverrrr, I gave Akuma a shot and holy s- the pressure both the twins can put on with his assist is pretty crazy. Any thoughts about Dante/Akuma? I’ve searched for a few posts and heard about megaman steve using it and one other but apart from that I dont see them much. (Also got a new spencer team yeye)

It does suck its not a full screen help but from mid/close it seems very awesome. Thoughts? Its a bit annoying to confirm is one thing.

You can do the “fake” DHC Trick by comboing into Grapple, which is done by:

Stinger L2 will be iffy in the corner, which is probably where you want to be when setting up Palm/Flame loops. You could try doing it with your back to the corner, then dash-under with Strange after DHC to put them in the corner and start the loops.

I can seem to get it after grapple no idea why, tried both hyper, I will try some more soon

But still have issues with Revolver to Grapple (is it that hard link), will have to test how I get solid grapple in the corner with Stinger probably.

hey guys! i’m liking dante(crystal)/vergil(rapid slash)/ironman(repulsor) purely for combo purposes (i’m that kind of guy. fuck tournaments lol j/k) and i notice there’s really no escape from the corner with this team with that ironman assist and acid rain teleport mix up lol other than that though the team neutral is subpar and i gotta rely on a lot more instinct than with regular beam+teleport bs

any tips would be grately appreciated

Try this:
jH stM(always start stM after jH, it will work vs anti air, and will link grounded unlike stL which doesn’t anti air)

840k~. And I’m not a combo nut and I’m pretty sure this can be optimized further. Check the corner BnB in this thread for the basic starter combo. Make sure you neutral jump for the Vergil Extension otherwise it wont work. I personally used jMH Killer bee instead of jH airplay killer bee too.

Plus, this doesn’t need to be said, if you are running Iron Man with Sparda go derp and get Unibeam to atleast make him pay off. Why go Repulsar when you can go for full screen 50/50s doesn’t make any sense.

would Spiderman/Dante/Magneto or Dante/Magneto/Strider be good?

Optimal Dante team that doesn’t involve Vergil/Strider? I have put in countless lab hours with Dante and he is by far my best character execution wise, however I just revert to day 1 j.S spam in matches on the rare occasion I pick him, so I need a good point Dante team. Reason that I don’t want to pick Vergil/Strider is because I feel it will inhibit my growth with Dante as i’ll probably just end up fishing for hits via Vajra+Teleport spam, and pretty much develop no fundamental understanding with Dante.

Currently the teams I am eyeing are Dante/Magneto/Doom and Dante/Dormammu/Doom, leaning more towards the Magneto variant due to how much I feel Dante needs a beam assist for screen control since the durability on his projectiles are doo-doo butter for the most part, but that leaves me with no potential for ToDs since the DHCs will be pretty weak.

Might even consider Dante/Strange/Doom just because it gives me a horizontal assist AND ToDs off of whiffed 7 Rings DHC, but that would require some frustrating time put into Strange I think.

Open to other suggestions as well, of course.

Really? Not even with HM/JS Extensions off Rings DHC? I’d figure it’d be a better shot than most other Dante teams.

Well, it depends how you define ToD, I can get around 950 with two bars (Dante combo ending with MD to SoV). Consider that you cannot do to much of FoF after full combo even if you could “dhc trick” with 7 rings (which isn’t that viable). Another option of course is TAC in the corner, or hard tag combo into Strange (with Acid Rain). The problem with that is that you can’t really dhc from Strange to Dante, so it’s 1 bar or a whole 3 bars, which is quite sad.

Uhmm I dunno, I consider ToDs with Dante stuff like, getting 950k but off of shaky confirms that leave you at 350-400k before super, and obviously MD>SoV won’t do that. TACs kinda suck with Dante I feel for a lot of reasons.

I’ve seen some SoV to DT combos that were ok~ but yeah I suppose you’d have to burn 3 anyway most of the time. I’d figure Strange+Dantes meter build would make that not too much of an issue though.

I don’t know how much of an extension Dante gets from DHCing into Strange so I won’t argue that, but i’m just saying I think its a better option than any other team ( aside from Vergil variants )
