I was having it out with Haggar’s violent axe assist. it seems to give frame advantage as well allowing me to setup more stuff with Dante to be annoying and play keep away. Back dashing and calling the assist while zoning. I found it handy against a person lacking projectiles. Haggar takes up ALOT of space with the axe and makes them approach carefully, allowing Dante to pepper with Missiles and whatever the hell he wants to do. It’s a bit risky if used incorrectly. but done right Dante has free reign to deal chip and set up shop.
air mashed H can also be protected by Haggar’s violent axe.
What are the best teammates for dante? i am running right now Vergil/Dante/Hawkeye but i want to make another team because vergil is not that fun for me and a lot of people are using him now because he is SO easy to learn, suggestions? i was thinking of zero and maybe viper but not sure.
Hawkeye/Mags/Doom/Ironman for a beam assist for his teleport mixups. A beam assist is invaluable for dante. Sentinel drones provide a good amount of mixup potential for him too.
Yeah that is why i am using hawyeye right now, it helps him a lot, i love drones… but hate sentinel, also maybe i will go for hidden missiles, but i don’t like doom that much, thanks for your opinion, i am gonna search for the new dante bff, i think i am gonna stick with hawkeye for the ‘‘beam’’(arrows) assist though.
EDIT: i think it is because dante is the only character i have played since day 1i have problems finding other ones that are as fun to play, i mean when i do a dante combo it feels so godlike, and the combos of almost every other character are…not that fancy.

Posting this here because I want to get a little constructive criticism from you guys about my team and my overall Dante play, I know my hyper aggressive play style can make me a little too teleport happy sometimes, I also think my left/right mix-up with Gamma charge assist is getting a little stale, need to find ways to spice it up a little and make it more potent.
I will not change any characters or assist on my team however, been playing this team since vanilla and I absolutely love it! but anything you guys want to point out or add or any combos you think might work will be greatly appreciated, let me know what you guys think.

Your team looks good, you can do like 1,000,000 damage with crystal otg, it is insane,i used hulk a little and tried to put his assist into combos, but i don’t get any decent, maybe it can help you to set grapple resets, or you can call it during a bnb if you are going to use beehive so the opponent falls into the assist and it let’s you save your ground bounce, i used that with vergil and spencer; hidden missiles let’s you gain a lot of meter in combos because it allows to do like 3 or 4 acid rains during a combo, although the damage is not increased a lot but who cares when you can dhc into gamma charge and do a tons of damage, love your team; by the way if you have a character recomendation for my new dante team i would appreciate it.
I’m in a great mood. I finally decided on an A team and a B team that fits 2 of my fav characters Dante and Doom on a team.
I’m running West, Dante (weasel) , and Doom(missiles). <-- Obvious synergy between frank and Dante plus missiles is a great extension for both characters.
Then West, Vergil, Doom. <-- Obvious synergy b/w Vergil and West but I’ve yet to find a HM extension with vergil other than like otging and then helm breaking at the end of a combo.
Any missiles-Dante players have any fun and/or cheap sequences you like for either protecting missiles (easy one for sure is just call Doom, Reverb), or abusing the fact that missiles are out n about? Given that my team, should I go the Dante route, would be Mag Dante Doom, it’s very possible Drones fit the bill more, I believe very highly in missiles-mag, and think missiles-Dante should be equally if not more powerful. Any good tips or tricks for either zoning or rushing I should play around with while working to discover my own busted sequences? Thanks!!
I actually just posted in the combo thread asking about Disruptah-port confirms/combos, and came into this thread to ask about missiles-Dante. But since you posted this, may as well ask why, in your opinion, Mag is one of Dante’s BFFs? The answer may purely be for the teleport beam crossups (which is fine), but: a. if there are other reasons, I’d love to know b. If it is for the dispruptah-port, I’m curious exactly how you operate it. As I’d mentioned in the other thread, I was all about Mag beam Dante in vanilla, but then I was using ABC-launch type confirms because DHC glitch let me kill off it. How are you abusing this duo in ult? Not just your combo(though Id like to hear that too), but any other strategic reasons you put them as bff status. Thanks!
Honestly, I think Magneto Dante Doom should be an EXTREMELY powerful team. I’m just not quite sure how to prove it yet. Anyone think they can make a good case?
^ Am currently using a Mag Doom Dante team, lol. (Aside from my Dante Vergil Mag team) It’s also possible to reorder the team into a Dante Doom Mag team for teams I can’t exactly handle with Mag yet, and it works just as well.
Magneto covers that little bit of Dante’s neutral game that he needs help with, IMO. Aside from the usual teleport beam combo, Magneto helps with Dante’s screen clearing. Dante doesn’t exactly have a quick traveling projectile to respond to assist calls outside of DT, so Magneto can do that job form him. But yeah, majority of their BFF status comes from Disruptor mixups. Delay it a bit and you can dash after the teleport, do it early when they start expecting it so they prematurely block the other way, etc. I usually do j.H after the teleport, then c.LMS j.H killerbee then combo. Or maybe tele j.S and combo if j.S hits.
As for the other way around, Magneto will have missiles to cover him and Jam Session/Weasel Shot to lock the opponent down for whatever mixup you want, and this applies to Doom too.
And with this lineup I can TAC to anyone and do something with it if I need to. The only problem I can see is for a Dante Doom Mag team, I don’t exactly know how to capitalize on a Doom + Disruptah pairing yet.
But yeah, teleporter + beam assist is generally a powerful combo, and tridasher + lockdown assist is a nice combo too. Mag and Dante fulfill those criteria.
Im currently in the testing phases of a haggar(lariat)/Dante(weasel shot for now but is open to change)/Hawkeye(Duh!) team. I was originally gonna play taskmaster/dante/akuma but good lord is task a striaght forward and boring character, I might return to him eventually but Im gonna give haggar a try(plus I’ve always played grapplers so its a natural fit for me). Then I tried haggar/dante/akuma but it really didn’t work as well as I would like since akuma didn’t give full screen coverage for haggar so Im currently testing this team. I figure the dante/hawkeye shell should allow for almost any character to be played on point, and since both dante and hawk allow haggar to combo off his otg while both allow him to pressure the shit outta characters I think its a solid combination.
From dante’s perspective though Im gonna try to fit some lariat resets into dante’s game, figured since he lacks damage ill see if I can make up for it in resets and shits. Plus I’ve always been a fan of DT and with a meter builder like haggar on point dante should have ample meter for a number of DT activations.
Finally if all else fails hawkeye should come into the game with a couple of bars loaded giving him the chance for some dope comebacks.

Magneto/Dante/Doom is a good team but it really isn’t as powerful as something like Magneto/Vergil/Doom or Magneto/Dormammu/Doom IMO. TBH, I prefer Magneto/Dante/Sentinel for better vertical/horizontal assist coverage and combo extension.
Magneto+Dante THC is amazing as well for assist/whiff punishing. The only fault of Magneto/Dante is that…you’re probably putting in way more time optimizing these two characters than you would with any other characters in the top 10.
Din0, I sent you a PM a few days about about almost exactly this topic (Mag Dorm Doom specifically). Between that and a post I wrote up yesterday in the Dorm thread, I’d very very interested to hear your thoughts. And yeah, I do wayyyy better w/ that squad than the Dante version, but it was def worth a shot, even if for no other reason than giving Mag a Weasel Shot to play with.

Thats interesting about the stalking flare magneto mixup… is the reason you wait for them to fall so theyre grounded for this mixup I guess? I usually DHC immediately so the shockwave mostly assures they have to deal with the Flare, but then they’re in the air of course. Ive also been experimenting with ways to use that 2D1C to protect a missile call, and missile call to protect the spell casting. Basically, if it were to work right, you can keep up that chip and go back n forth safely w/o them being able to stop it (when it works ideally I mean of course). Thanks much for the answer. Id be happy to share any of the stuff Im doing w/ that squad, I just have a hard time believing Im doing anything experience SRK marvel heads would really get all that excited about.
So i am starting a new team using dante and morrigan, i love her sexy costume so i wanna use her a bit, i know doom would be the obvious 3rd spot in this team because it benefits greatly dante and morrigan, but i am not to sure about picking him, so who do you think would be incredible in a Dante/Morrigan/?? Team in the anchor spot;
Also i was in the lab in the other day playing dormammu, and he and dante are a good duo, dormammu has the safe dhc option , jam session to abuse with his pillars and meteors, and dante can extend his combos with dark hole , also chatic flame does great damage do it is a good dhc, you can do 1,000,000 damage with dark hole assist and dhc into chatic flame.
Using Dante (Jam Session) / Doom (Plasma Beam) / Ammy (Cold Star). Thoughts on setups/combo extensions I could get for Dante (besides obvious beam + Teleport)?
I was tryng to do a reset with dante involving grabs, and i was like it is impossible to combo after a super jump air grab, until i thought… maybe doom missiles can help a bit, and surprise it did and very well, in that team i think you should use Hidden missiles instead of plasma beam; it is a los better for dante imo.
This is the reset what i found, well i don’t think i am the first but it is very great ; the trick to do the timing right is to call doom at the same time as your last attack in the ground; example: Hammer>Volcano>j.H>air play>j.H>s.H>s.S+Call doom missiles>sj.L>(wait a little bit) air grab> at the moment you finish the air grab the character will fall and the missiles will hit afterwards so you come down using j.S and the combo afterwards; sorry for not doing a video don’t have a video recorder right now, as soon as i get one i will record this and other stuff.
