dante mag sent. mag bandwagon now
I’m thinking about running a Viper (Burn Kick)/Doom (Missiles)/Dante (Weasel Shot) team, what do you guys think of the team?
^ Tried running this for a bit. Makes for a pseudo-marlinpie team, but Ammy still does it better for Viper and Doom. Also I suggest just running plasma beam/jam session.
Which does Felicia get more mileage out of, Weasel Shot or Jam Session? I usually just go with Jam Session, but I’m wondering if in this case the lockdown from Weasel Shot might be better.
Unless you’re running missiles or vajra get jam session, if you are, get weasel shot.
Anybody run Jam Session as a backup for Wesker? Weasel Shot seems to provide the best lockdown for teleport/command grab mixups, but Jam Session can provide Wesker with some much-needed air control. I’m just not sure about its ability to also serve as lockdown, which Wesker really needs IMO. I know it scales combos a lot harder.
Yeahhhhh. After watching Fanatiq win ECT, I put together a Mags(Disruptor)/Dante(Crystal)/Sentinel(Drones) team that is actually really awesome. I know Crystal on that team isn’t really needed, but since I suck with Magneto it lets me do a flight combo into a hard knockdown, then pick them back up to hit them with Magnetic Tempest for big damage. I’m just not good enough with Mags to master the process of cancelling flight or just airdashing down to the ground yet.
But anyway that team is really godly. Dante gets a ton of mileage out of either assist, so if Mags doesn’t die before Dante comes in he does even better than if he was just working with Drones.
I’m having an existential (lol) crisis.
Dante is my only real main character, he’s on ALL of my teams. I enjoy him because he isn’t completely simple: he takes a bit of brain and execution. But I can’t find the perfect team for him for me to play. I’ve played him on teams like Zero(or Wolv)/Dante/Vergil, Dante/Doom/Ammy(or Sent), Chris/Dante/Sent but I’m not completely satisfied. I want characters whom I can feel a sense of contentment with, characters with whom I feel like I’m actually improving lol… (the wolv team feels like my best team but wolverine is so braindead lol). The only other character that makes me feel this way is Doom, but I’m not entirely good with him yet.
So which other characters/teams do you suggest? I’m thinking viper, or mags, or continue with doom since they feel rewarding to play.
I definitely want to see SRK’s answer to this one, I’m having the same crisis even though I’m determined to make my team of Dante (Jam Session)/Amaterasu (Cold Shots)/Strider (Vajira) work for me.
Currently trying out Viper/Dante/Strider. If anyone has some tech for this team I would very much appreciate that. I’m trying to currently figure out a good post Burst Time DHC from Devil Trigger atm. Some extensions with Viper assist off of Dante’s non-hammer combos would be great too.
I’ve been trying to get a Viper/Dante team going but it hasn’t been working for me. Granted, I haven’t spent a whole lot of time with it.

Yup I like dante doom but I can’t pick another. Maybe task second idk, actually that team seems great. Horizontal assist and missiles for dante. Pretty awesome dhc, and I have some potential doom task combos.
Like you I’ve had plenty of teams but the only chars I’m comfortable with are spencer and dante and I slapped wesker with them but the team is bland. I don’t really like it, same thing with mags. Too many dante magnus teams nowadays. It takes the originality out of games because it feels like I’m watching the same thing. And like my response to Momo Viper dante is awkward.
You probably feel this way because you are unintentionally tier whoring, throw some low/mid tier characters into the mix! a lot of players who use Dante on this forum are having the same problem as you, where as they get bored of their Dante teams, well it’s no wonder why because every Dante team I hear about or run into online seems to consist of Zero, Mags, Spencer, Wesker, Viper, Vergil blah blah insert high tier character here. and that shit gets boring real fast, you said you want to find a character that will take a bit of work, but will make you feel that you will or can improve upon said character yes? then pick a lower/mid tier character that works along side Dante and Doom that you can have some fun with. Not only that people more often notice someone who plays well with low/mid tier characters than with higher tier.
I decided to use the Hulk because I mained him on all my teams in Marvel 2, and he works so damn well with Dante and Doom it’s actually scary. other lower tier characters that work well with the duo are Frank west, Doctor strange, Nemesis, Spider-man and M.O.D.O.K… those are just to name a few though, you just have to break out of your comfort zone try out new things, that’s really all it takes.
I feel the more fun teams that are the most rewarding to learn are the mixed tier teams that have a perfect balance low/mid and high tier all put together. You really pick up some originality in your play style but at the same time still keep the effectiveness that would allow you to take your team to tournaments if you felt like doing so, and to go as far as to impress others when they see what kind of new tech you have with your team.
Yeah I think I’m unintentionally tier whoring, but it’s probably due to me picking who looks cool or whose combos are fun to execute, not just MMHS relaunch MMHS and stuff like that. I can’t bear picking characters like Haggar or Hulk. xD I actually picked Dante Vergil Zero (In that order) as my first team before I even checked tiers or character abilities.
Currently learning Magneto and enjoying myself.
Dante works with everyone. Just put who you like on a team with him and it’ll usually work. Speaking of which, I still can’t get a decent extension with Viper BK assist except with Hammer confirms.

Yeah. The thing is lower tier characters can get pretty boring like modok isn’t any fun. Hulk is just tooo simple. X-23 is cool and all but I don’t like the character in general and in comics. Top tierier characters are just more fun and usually cooler.
It’s a childs mindset but it is a cartoon game.
^ This is somewhat true. It’s the top tier characters that have the fun combos, like Mags, Viper, etc.

Lol it is a cartoon game, what characters seem boring and fun can go both ways for low tier and high tier, it’s seems the same thing has carried on from Marvel 2 to 3 is where the higher tier characters potentially take more time and execution to learn, in turn making them more interesting, you also can get more mileage out of them, I think low tier can be more fun because it’s always interesting to find new tech with characters the players are overlooking.
