You know what, I’m done with this shit. Time to re-imagine my playstyle with Hakan cause good lord all I do is whine on here. I’ve reached 10K BP and 3K PP but it kinda just stays there. I need to climb higher, god damnit.
So has anyone gotten a decent reply for why Hakan’s slide hurtbox is so broken (IE IT GOES STRAIGHT UP, try sliding under Vega’s sky high claw hits you lol gg capcom) and why his jump is shorter than everyone else? The fact that his jump is shorter automatically makes him worse in the air…
Slide.hp feets are completely vulnerable when sliding.
Slide.mp feets are proyectile invinsible when sliding.
Slide.lp feets are completletly invinsible when sliding (so this is the safest AA slide).
Slide.ex hakan full body is proyectile invinsible, some startup frames are completely invinsible.
Why you say is worse in the air because of his short jump? I like his jump angle 
Who cares about the feet when it hits you clean lol. His short jump makes some matchups a bit iffy cause of them jumping higher than Hakan . :<<
But, are you sure Vega’s sky high claw hits you out of slide.lp?
I understand any other slide can be hit from above because of the straight up feets.
On the other hand, LP Slide is one of the best AAs in the game against far jump-ins…it consistently beats even Cammy’s EX Divekick. I have never seen it lose or even trade with anything. The only problem is that if the jump-in is really close, you’ll slide under them and they hit you in the legs.
Also, Hakan’s short jump is the reason he can do his awesome safejump setups that make like every reversal whiff. Nobody else in the cast has a jump short enough to hit with a jump-in at the peak of their jump arc like Hakan does. I think he also does just fine air-to-air, with j.HP hitting above his head, j.MP leading to damage and a knockdown, and his airgrab that leads to safe oil or a setup.
If you wanna see a really bad jump arc, check out Marstorious in Karnov’s Revenge. He is a grappler charge-character and his jump is so low that he literally cannot jump over some fireballs, and the ones he can jump over, you need to be like frame perfect so that the fireball is under him as he is exactly at the peak of his jump, lol.
I’m not entirely sure, but it shouldn’t hit IMO. I mean he’s hitting your head basically while you’re licking the floor.
I should hug you for mentioning Karnov’s Revenge. Yeah I do understand that a lot of his setups and even his playstyle revolves around his short jump but some matchups are just silly, like Chun doing 360 kickflips into indy air over Hakan. 
Hakan’s short jump is what makes his air grab so brokenly good.
Edit: I played Chun in Vanilla and I will tell you it’s really hard to land her air grab sometimes because you are actually too high to grab people.
Yeah, it is pretty hilarious to see some characters easily clear Hakan’s head when they both jump, haha.
On another note, anybody had any luck against good Guy players? It seems like it’s impossible to make his reversal EX Tatsu whiff as it just hits the jump-over setups, and it’s also hard to safejump normally at 4f. He has lots of ways to beat uncrouchable 360k setups, and can AA Hakan very well. He can cover the screen to punish oil-ups pretty well, and his oki is really good unless you have U2. He also has normals that just beat cr.MK buffer Slide. Basically, I’m finding that his defense is good enough that I eventually end up dry, at which point he makes it very hard to get oil again, and goes to town on poor dry Hakan.
No, first Blanka played me 50+, and the second 20+. I played all top Xbox Blanka’s, none can handle the hakan mixups.
Hey Stercan, I have problem with blanka. Can you describe or post videos? My problem is when I am down the hop in and out mixup with electricity is killing me. Can’t poke or tech because I get hit. Wake up ex-rocket can’t throw them and if blanka do a cr.hk, I get hit.
It is not safe to oil-up when he is in mid distance( he can slide you down) or hop in to grab you…
the blanka match up is not in hakan’s favor. when i went to evo, i spoke to a blanka player named “vez” and he explained to me all the reasons why its in blanka’s favor. basically, all blanka has to do is lame hakan out by not letting him oil. like bakkd is saying, as long as blanka isn’t doing random balls, its 100% in his favor.
hakan doesn’t really have any good matches. the only even match i can think of is probably dan and maybe rose. i’ll put together a matchup chart one of these days based off my personal experience. its not going to be pretty for hakan.
If the Blanka player said that he has to lame out Hakan and don’t do “random” balls… he is basically confirming the matchup is not on his favor.
Can you define when a Blanka ball is not random against Hakan? Is it when Hakan’s do focus or as part of a combo? because I can’t see any other way a Blanka player can use a Blanka ball without risk againt Hakan.
Blanka is not in favor of the hakan/blanka match up. Trust me. “All blanka has to do is keep Hakan from getting oil”. yea that was cool in Super. AE? Hell I stay oily. I rarely stay unoiled and even if I am unoiled I dont stay unoiled for over 2 seconds. With blood oil or Slide/oil up how can you not get oiled? Blanka is done in that MU. Ive played many online Blankas and Ive won majority of them all. Even when they try that hopping mixup, you aint fooling sh#& here dawg!

The right place to play against oiled Hakan is mid range in a position that you can easily stop Hakan Oil Showers. Blanka has the option to quickly come close to Hakan and also option to go from mid to longe range with his backhop and good backdash and jump. This matchup isnt clearly in Hakan favors, and do random balls is not something that good Blanka players do, random balls are something to do not consider in this matchup.
For Hakan go in he got to have patient, and patient cost oil.^^
I don’t play Hakan, but anytime I see Hakan play Dhalsim, it looks free for Hakan. Is it?

So… what am I missing? Am I having to go like a crazy doing focus and use long range pokes(Forward MP,HK) that let me in -5 on block against a character that has a nice stand jab(especially far-startup 3, so free punish against those moves)?
If I am missing something(I am probably doing) so I would like that you explain better your position. Just saying that I lack in something will not help me at all.

Your strategy, in my opinion, is correct. Me, as a Hakan player, I don’t really care about the oil against Blanka. But if someone is laming me out I would build my meter or ultra. Usually they stop been so lame and if I need oil I can use the oil shower ex.
The reason why I think Hakan is a bad matchup to Blanka is:
