Bonchan wasnt ready for that. Still think Sagat wrecks Hugo though.
It’s a grappler though, if he gets in your face it’s terrifying.
Hugo doesn’t have to be in your face to be terrifying though. He can kill you with claps and normals.
Maf, hugo was always able to duck under high shots, this was the case from the first release of Ultra. I think the subsequent buffs to his normals such as cr jab etc. are what made the matchup slightly better.
Taking nothing away from Valle, i thought bonchan looked kinda clueless too. But Valle…whew, I was sweating just watching him slowly march bonchan to the corner and start smashing him with normals. It was a great performance on Valle’s part.
You’re right about Bonchan looking lost. That match is perfect example of Hugo not needing to SPD. Bonchan was scared of it the whole time and Alex never used it once. He just backed himself in the corner.
Been having issues with the bison, rose, and decapre matchups. Feels like they do everything safe and free, and have answers to anything i try to do. Any tips?

dont know much about decapre, but bison and rose are basically wrecked on wakeup. knock them down, and go to town with wakeup mixups : cr lk into lp into dp or meaty grab etc.
stand mk works exceptionally well against rose. Check out the character punish videos on highland fireballs thread on matchup videos for specific moves u can punish.
As someone who plays both Decapre and Sagat I can understand why you might have trouble with her.
She can get around fireballs with ease and her pressure is a pain to deal with. However there are a lot more holes in her gameplay than it first appears.
If you’re getting pressured with Hands/Daggers, Sagat’s 3frame jab can answer it. Bigger problem is when the Decapre uses Stinger after the Daggers and you pressing a button just gets you DP’d. The only answer I can give to that is you’re going to have to read the if they’re going to Stinger you or not, if they are, don’t press anything. If they don’t, check them with jab.
Her divekicks are punishable if they hit above the chest (Which happens quite often to me. I think it’s to do with Sagat’s hitbox). Best thing I can say on that is record it to get the exact height in which you can punish.
Last thing would be her ways around fireballs. She has Spiral Arrow/Scramble (Teleport)/Ultra 2. The best choice is to bait these out with something like HK-Shot, cr.lp. Arrow and Scamble are reactable and get beaten out with neutral jump MK. Ex-Scramble is a different beast that you have to respect and online it can be really hard to tech the grab if she just lands in front of you. Not only that but if they go for the ground pound instead, backdashing can get blown up and they get to Air throw/Stinger/Ultra 2.
One thing to remember is that Decapre’s love pressing buttons. They also tend to love their lp Stinger (Which isn’t throw invincible 
).

It’s all about reactions and reads with the King, the moment he starts upper cutting jag kicks on reaction you know he’s on fire!
Ex jaguar kicks at that! Highlights are the matches against gamerbee and infiltration. The grand finals was pretty hype too, but seth having a dp and a command throw makes him a terror in 50-50 situations. Dashio really used that strategy well because each time bonchan had to gamble on whether to push a button or tech or just block. Great games. Really enjoyed this tournament since i saw most of it live.

I’ve never played Sagat before but I heard he is good against Elena. I cannot beat her with my main “regular” Ryu. Can someone break down the Sagat - Elena match up so I can finally destroy all these tier whores that think their good cuz they beat me in a lopsided match up.
I think Sagat can take advantage of Elena’s high jump arc and can zone her effectively. Her slides can’t go through low shots and her ex rhino horn does little damage while Sagat is crouching. Nevertheless, you have to be aware of her ultras. For healing, I would select Tiger cannon. Meanwhile, I would corner her before she builds up the meter.
