No, I think he means that you can’t punish Kicks, but if Bison tries to attack after Kicks, Sagat’s fastest move (i.e., 3-frame crouch jab) beats his fastest move. That said, I’m pretty sure Bison’s crouch short is 3-frames too, but I guess because of spacing after Kicks Bison’s will typically use stand forward.
nothing you can do you to directly punish lk scissor on block (besides maybe super), but yes it is possible to stick out a button before him if he tries to continue pressuring.
Why doesn’t someone make a new thread for ultra? This shit has been out-dated for a long time a lot of it isn’t even accurate anymore like Rose and Gouken being free on wakeup and Sakura sagat being 7-3.
Umm I was kinda serious there…i dont see why Rose can’t be pressured like crazy when she hits the floor in ultra…what has changed for her?
I understand gouken because that tatsu comes out faster, but what changed about rose…soul power and fake mammary glands taken into consideration and all.
lol, nice one man…looking forward to it…If you could do one explaining the hows and whys of crouch teching then I would greatly appreciate it because this has been a part of the game that I cant get down…(its been a year)
probably timing. I know the throw is coming, i press the tech button to tech, but my success rate is 50 percent and on bad days even less, It’s doubly frustrating when you know what is coming and you cant do anything about it…especially since gat is so immobile, i find myself in these types of situations a lot of times and i end up getting frustrated and doing risky things like TU to break out of the set up.
hmmm, interesting stuff Highland. So what you are saying is that you stick out a cr. mp poke when anticipating a throw? Does that come out fast enough when the opponent is pressuring you with crouching jabs to keep you in block stun for the throw?
Or do you do a normal crouch tech with cr mp added in (as in pressing lp, lk, mp simultaneously?)
Yeah it’s a timing thing. The past couple sessions I’ve spent practicing teching throws.
If you absolutely know the throw is coming, than stand tech it.
If you don’t know, you have to press lp and lk when you think the throw is coming.
Imagine if you were the attacker and were going for a either a tick throw setup after a cr. lk or a block string of cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lp. So you, as Sagat will press lp and lk when you attacker is attempting the throw.
If he goes for the block string, you’ll block it because you’ll be in block stun. If he throws according to the tick throw timing, you’ll tech it because you teched the throw within the 7 frame window. If he tries to walk up throw after pushing himself out of throw range, your cr.lk will hit him.
You won’t tech shit when it’s laggy though. If you have PSN I’d run some online training with you.
