don’t get knocked down! sagat’s huge hitbox makes him pretty free after knockdown with a good ibuki, after that its just guess and try and reset the situation, or pray for a lucky reversal.
Is there a way to block her vortex with Sagat? like any visual ques to tell me which side shes gonna hit? Also once I block can she be punished with anything? SRK etc…

You can mash out a TU on the kunai and take the minor damage but it’ll deck you again…
The real trick is identifying the ones that don’t cross up. St.mk is extremely useful in the match, it’ll trade/beat most normals that she’s linking to knock you down and also beat the slide advance. Hard match.

It works definitely but in the heat in a match…gonna be a little tougher to get used to and watch out for, but this is def a start.

On a basic level both Cammy and Claw I’d think most would agree would be 5-5. Both can be zoned fairly well and it basically comes down to your ability to keep them out. Vega has that floaty jump and can actually be rushed down also on a KD because his wake up is not the greatest. As with everything Sagat if your AA’s on point they will find it hard to get in and once they do you will either have meter or a nice life lead. Even though Cammy has a lower jump arch , I personally don’t find her that hard to DP either.
At the same time Cammy’s a bit overpowered so the bitch will fuck you up if you get put on your ass and can’t block. I’d be tempted to give her a .5 just because she’s so retardidly easy to use and EX dive kick is OP. Vega has quick walk speed and awesome pokes that lead to hit confirm combo’s. Characters with good footsie’s and walk speed are not Sagat’s best friend. Also both have Ultra’s that can slow down Sagat’s fireball game. So those reasons are why they would hold their own.
Oni would be clear advantage 6-4 I would think. He has decent mix ups but he’s quite slow and your fireball/zoning game is much better. Slash’s can be dp’d on reaction, he’s a pretty poor character overall.
I personally think Cammy beats Sagat 6-4.
Sagat tends to have trouble against characters with Anti Zoning Ultras(fuck you capcom). He also has trouble against characters that chew through his wake up, and I think Cammy does an excellent job at that. She also has a three frame low for some dumbass reason so she can basically combo of many things so her execution is benefited. Spiral arrow is like the equivalent to Fei’s rekkha, or Ryu’s Tatsu, a bs move that will knock sagat into the corner while still being able to rush you down afterwards…
So from a bit of skimming, I’ve gathered that Sagat’s worst matches are Akuma, Fei, Ibuki and Viper? How does Abel fare? It seems like Sagat would have just as difficult of a time getting out of his mix-ups as he would against anyone else.
Also just out of pure curiosity and to put everyone in a better mood, what are some of Sagat’s best matches?

All these matches are tough for sagat, but they are winnable definitely. The ones that are a bit too tough are Fei, Akuma, Dudley and Juri, but that’s just me.
Abel only beats Sagat because of U1 IMHO, he gets hard bodied by Sagat on wake up.
I agree with most that list. I do think abel is bad for sagat though. But definitely winnable. I also used to think viper was 5-5 but that hp feint tech krone showed off made me think its in her favor. Viper gets way more off of a mixup/guess than sagat does. Plus hp feint can take away your kara dp mixup and wake up options. I do believe you can limit her options on wake up and for sure win the match but you gotta be on point to do so against a viper thats worth their salt. Getting hit by ultra still blows so much.
I can see why but for me I’d much rather face a good Cammy player than a good Ibuki/Akuma/ - insert OP mix up character here.
Cammy can get blown up and everyone knows her shit because so many people play her. You can at least eyeball most of her game where as Ibuki and Akuma can leave a lot to chance and next minute your stunned then dead. She can be zoned for the most part which is more than can be said for some of his other bad matches. I think anyone who can be zoned effectively means we are in with a shout. Not sure, I wouldn’t argue with it being 6-4 since she’s still a bit too OP in this game.
With your bad matches list I’d take off Gouken (zoning battle) and Makoto (zoned til Ultra) and put on Guy (fuck your zoning). Guy really gives me a hard time.
Funny seeing all this Cammy talk just after Alioune bodies Sanfords and Lionhearts Sagats in the sets yesterday.
Remember Alioune used to main Sagat though which can only help. I dunno, somebody ask Sanford?? Or Emblem…

I played Chi-Rithy, imo one of the top cammy’s on the planet. That’s why I said the match up is in Cammy’s favour. Cammy get’s easy setups on Sagat for big damage into more safe setups.
That’s basically her character though. What set ups with Cammy ARE difficult…? 
She’s brain dead. If anything Sagat’s got a better shot than most at keeping her out due to the extra 100 health and superior zoning. That’s her weak area, down back and keep out.
The new matchup chart on the front page has it at 5-5 I think. Somebody might want to change that, not that it’d make much difference. She’s clearly the best character in the game now.

I think gouken is either just even or slightly in goukens favor . Gouken with ultra 2 is a pain. if he just focus’ and builds up ultra similar to how seth does with his u1 then it can be become very hard as u get banned from shots but gouken can fireball gat. Do you guys use u1 or u2? i use u1 personally i like anti air option and damage output but i saw bonchan elected to use u2. I also think cammy beats sagat she has some retarded setups on him. She does more damage has better options on offense as well as being able to basically dance around sagats zoning. You can keep her out but its really hard and the risk reward is in her favor in that aspect. Sanford isn’t the only top sagat that lost to cammy Gachi kun lost to xiao hai’s in australia at shadowloo showdown. I fight sols cammy and while recently i dont play much ive been having trouble i can win but it feels like most situations things are in her favor. I don’t agree with makoto being a bad match for sagat i dont know why you guys think that. i also dont think sakura is either. these two characters share one thing though explosive damage if they get in and mixups. I have had a number of really strong sakuras including humanbombs and while she can be a menace u can zone her and attack her on wakeup u just have to be really solid and use meter very wisely her and makoto u can keep out. i really don’t think those two are bad matchups they are either 5-5 or slightly 5.5 which i dont class as bad matchups. the rest i agree with.
cammy beats sagat. not even gonna discuss the nonsense. Use Tiger cannon vs Gouken. I call it even at worst. Like…the gameplan is similar and he doesnt rly negate your style and generall ur reward is larger and u win the fb war unless he has meter but the same goes for you when you have meter and he needs to have ultra to win it while gat just needs two bars of ex. in terms of buttons gat can come out on top usually in footsies and gouken has bad wake up blah blah we already know this.
I just think its tough for many gats to get hit with the same anti zoning ultra tactics we can use vs other fb chars.
interesting. well i beat the aus goukens but they are not top level players. i might start running u2 for a bit and see how it goes. in terms of footsies yeah i agree i dont generally have a problem with it. but i do however at times have issues with dealing with so of the demon flip shit i sometimes cant tell whats coming out. prob inexperience.
