I’m still waiting for a Tier list for all the parts and compositions in Armored Core 4.
that my friend… is madness :looney:
Armored core4 isn’t a fighting game nor is it anywhere near shitty:rolleyes:
Anyone interested in coming up with a tier list for Aggressors of Dark Kombat? That was probably the worst fighting game on the Neo Geo. So far, Fuuma seems like he’s the best character in that game because his up/down hop is nearly instant which allows him to punish dashers while his dash is safe. He also has the best anti-air and juggles in the game. I need more time with the game, but this is what I have so far.
S Tier
- Fuuma- See above
A Tier
- Lee- Good damage and combos, but his anti-air sucks
- Bobby- His small hitbox makes some attacks whiff, but his damage is poor w/o combos. Bobby is S tier on his own stage because if he jumps on top of the car, he can launch attacks from the car while being immune to lots of crap
B Tier
- Sheen- Poor knockdown, but his counter rapes a lot of stuff
- Jo- Bad specials for the most part, but he has some of the best normals, he’s versatile otherwise though
- Leonhalt- Good knockdown and damage, but he’s slow as molasses and his moves have low priority
C Tier
- Kisarah- Her specials are all punishable and her up/down dash is the worst in the game. Her sweep has huge range and she can anti-air reasonably well
- Goh- The only good thing about Goh is that he has the easiest time causing dizzies. He sucks otherwise because he’s slow and his combo options are limited
This game seems pretty balanced, although Fuuma is a cut above everyone else, except Bobby on his own stage.
not a shitty game but BUSHIDO BLADE 2 tier list please?
Double Dragon one (nes)
all god tier…you can only mirror match so…
Anyone do TMNT: Turtles in Time vs mode tier?
Requesting tiers for:
Knuckle Heads (has a JUMP button!)
Martial Champion (has an interesting system. you can knock away people’s weapons ala Vega’s claw but then you can pick them up and use them yourself.)
Pit-Fighter
Burning Rival
Dark Edge
Power Instinct
Superior Soldiers
Blood Storm
Kaiser Knuckle
You can play all of these in MAME. Some of them aren’t all that bad.
Might be hard to do Pit Fighter, I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure you can only use three of the characters. That being said spam the kick boxers special all day long.
Gotta resurrect this thread. It’s too fucking classic.
Anyway, I been playing alot on old anime fighters on my ZNES emulator/PS1 as well as some newer ones on my ps2.
Here’s a tier list for a game I have been messing with.
Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale
Top Tier - Inuyasha, Demon Inuyasha, Koga, Totosai
High Tier - Kikyo, Miroku
Mid Tier - Sesshomaru, Naraku, Kagura
Low Tier - Kagome, Shippo
Bottom Tier - Sango
Feels wierd having 4 really good characters, but oh well. Game is pretty decent actually although some things make no sense. Supers have no invincibility for starters and there are no reversals. There is a parry system though and you have to hit a button to parry. You actually commit when you parry so if you miss it then you are wide open. You can parry while being comboed though which is bullshit. You don’t get meter for parrying though which I like. Since you can parry the game comes down to being able to throw out quick pokes into safe specials since you can’t parry specials or supers. Also you only get meter for being attacked or for attacking. You don’t get meter for blocking or for attacking a blocking opponent. Anyway, moving onto the characters.
Inuyasha is just awesome. Great pokes overall and he has good range on his normals when he uses his sword. Some of the best specials in the game too. His Iron Reaver is safe on block, good for closing in great for combos. He can also hit confirm into his super very easily off of any fierce normal a la 3s. His super is also the best in the game and one of two supers that can be comboed into reliably. He has a projectile that can be used in the air or on the ground and travels straight. If his projectile hits his opponent he can combo from there even right into his super. His projectile can be ducked while he is on the ground though which limits it’s usefulness. His wind scar special is a good defensive move for keeping foes out. Overall he is perfect with no glaring weaknesses.
Demon Inuyasha trades in the sword for more speed and mix-ups. He loses the range that his alter ego has and he has no projectile. Still he has his perks. He is very fast on the ground and is the only character that can combo after his overhead into another normal into a special or straight from his overhead into super. He can combo a normal into his super as well. He also has a command throw that does very good damage. This lets him punish defensive play and build meter faster then any other character. Since he has the command throw and the overhead into super/combo he has a very deadly mix-up anytime he is close or during his opponents wake-up. He also has a very long and quick dash and since you can overhead from your dash or can choose to cancel your dash with a special move, this makes him very deadly when he closes in quickly. His special move Charge allows him to get in quickly and it’s safe on block. It has poor priority though and loses to normals easily. His main weakness and that his jump in attacks CAN BE DUCKED!! normally a fundamental flaw as detrimental as this would regulate him to mid tier maybe lower, but his other advantages are so great that this flaw means little. He has a great mix-up game even without jumping attacks.
Koga has similar gameplay to Demon Inuyasha. Very fast movement and jump speed with quick normals gives him a good pressure game. His jumping heavy kick is pretty much the best jump in attack in the game. He has a rush in special just like D. Inuyasha although his is called Wolf Wind. It has the same pros and cons as well. His gameplay is all about rushdown. He wants to get in and throw out a Demon kick which juggles and sets up for huge damage combos that take about 35% from an opponents life bar with NO SUPER!!! Demon kick is safe on block is totally spammable. When Koga gets in he has a basic mix-up of tick throw or BnB Demon kick follow up after normal. Koga’s only real weakness is a lack of range on his normals and that his super is abysmal but outside of both Inuyashas and Miroku EVERYONE has a shitty super so that’s not a big deal.
Totosai is all about keepaway. His normals have the most range out of anyone. His Giant Hammer attack is amazing. The hitbox is goes out quite far and stays out quite a bit letting Totosai really control the ground. Combined with his great normals and his other special Momo Drop where he summons his demon cow to land on the opponent near instantly and you have a character with some serious keepaway/zoning ability. He pretty much just keeps you at bay with normals. If you block or take a hit then Totosai cancels into Momo Drop to push you back out and get some chip damage or full damage if you ate the normal. He can keep using giant hammer to control the ground and make it very hard for you to close in as well. He has no real weaknesses either other then an average super.
Miroku - Good normals thanks to his staff. His super is really good for punishing as well. His projectile can’t be ducked which is good and his purifying salt special acts as shield that he can follow and use to pressure an opponent. It’s similar to a Sonic Boom but doesn’t last as long. He is a good character overall, but not quite as silly as he top tier. He can still compete though. Since he is a human he can’t air dash though which is definitely a disadvantage. He doesn’t have solid BnB combos like the top tier do though which is a detriment as well.
Kikyo - Solid normals since she uses her soul collectors or her bow to attack and she has decent range with them. Her jumping hard attack is a great jump in. Her projectile can’t be ducked which is great. Also her purification attack lets her put alot of pressure on her opponent. It’s quick and safe on block as well. She can’t air dash which hurts her, but overall she is solid. Her super of course, is bad.
Sesshomaru - Doesn’t use a weapon for his normals so they lack reach, but the speed is ok. Specials are lackluster. Only Tokujin is good. Creates a sort of circular field in front of Sesshomaru that comes downward. Great for containment and combos. His super hits overhead which is nice but very easy to see coming. Overall he is a mediocre character.
Naraku - Solid normals. Decent reach and speed. His projectile is ok. Covers a lot of space while it’s onscreen since he summons insects, but you can’t move at all until the insects leave the screen. His Demon puppet special is ok but the puppet comes down and slashes at a specific range so if you are inside that range the the move will miss. It’s very situational. His super hits low but as an attack it isn’t noteworthy.
Kagura - Use a fan for her normals giving her some extra reach. She has a projectile and can shoot it in the air like Inuyasha but her recovery time is worse decreasing the usefulness of the move. Her Dance of the Dead special is too slow and isn’t useful in BnB combos. Kanna is but it doesn’t knockdown on hit leaving Kagura wide open to punishment. Kagura does have grab combos into Kanna though which really helps her out. She actually has enough issues to be knocked down into low tier imo, but her grab combos and her normals save her from that. Oh yeah her super is terrible.
Kagome - Meh. Crappy projectile, fairly crappy normals, way too floaty in the air, shitty super, no air dash since she’s human. Her heavy attacks are ok since she uses her bow for those and her Spiritual power special gives her a BnB finisher but beyond these two points she isn’t worth mentioning as a character. She is bad and has little options.
Shippo - Not too much to say. Fire Bombs is good. Gives him some good runaway and zoning/field control. Transform is his best move hands down. He becomes his opponent at no cost. Although he will lose it if he takes a beating. He is short which aids him in avoiding attacks which is a nice perk. His super is garbage.
Sango - Useless. Useless projectile that leaves her wide open when blocked. Useless anti air special that leaves her open for days if it doesn’t hit and it doesn’t even have any invincibility. Useless Super. Her poison powder special gives her a nice retreat option, but…she can’t do anything once she retreats. She has no good options. She is nearly unplayable imo.
Hmmm, I’ll probably tier DBZ: Super Butouden 2 next.
I remember that one… I think It’s the one were you can play as… Aw, man forgot his name. Purple, with a blue punk-ish hair style. Short dude, supposedly like a high level god but was pretty soon quite weak in comparison to Goku in the manga.
I liked him, don’t think he was all that good in the game though… But we’ll see when you play it :wgrin:
What about some DBZ Hyper Dimension tiers?
Anyone got a tier list for .
DBZ Super Butouden 2 Tiers.
Top Tier - Goku, Gohan, Piccolo
High Tier -Trunks, Bojack
Mid Tier - Vegeta, Cell jr., Broly, Zangya
Low tier - Cell
Game is pretty cool but has quite a few flaws. Hitstun is super low so there are no real combos and hit pushback is almost non existent. Some characters like Goku for example can pin you in the corner with rapid fire normals and if you don’t have a reversal then there isn’t much you can do other then try to mash out a throw/normal and hope for the best. Runaway is quite strong since stages are huge and everyone has several ki attacks and you can fight in the air switch to the second plane in the sky. There is also the Super Ki blast system. You can shoot Super ki blasts just like in the anime/manga and when you do a cut scene ensues where the charatcer powers up and shoots the energy. The opponent can then choose to block it, deflect, counter with their own blast, or dissipate it. The throw system is pretty good. When thrown you can double tap L or R to tech or counter attack. The button corresponding to the appropriate action changes depending on which side you are on. There are invincible reversals though and ki attacks add more depth to the close range game and the wake up game. Reversal attacks are very broken in this game BTW because they are safe on block. Only thing that keeps them from being super spammable is that they are all charge moves.
Also when you fight in the air you can’t block low, so characters that have specials that act as low attacks gain a huge advantage when engaging someone in the air.
Goku - An all around beast. Good reach on his normals. His spin kick does 7 consecutive kicks. They are blockable after the first 2 connect but the chip damage is insane. You can punish him between the 6th and 7th kick but any punishment he receives will not surpass the amount of damage he dealt you so you really can’t deter Goku from spamming it if he wants to. He has Dictators Knee Press and it’s really fucking good in this game. Very fast and gives more frame advantage on block then it does on hit. The attack actually has invincibility frames at the end of the move. He has a Seeker ki ball that homes in on the target. Good for runaway opponents and good for the wake-up game. On wake-up it will hover over the opponent and they will get up into the attack and Goku can continue pressure. He has a two hit reversal attack and that makes it very easy to deal with pressure. He can combo after his reversal hits as well. All his specials do chip damage which really augments his pressure game. He also has a move called Taiyoken which can stun an opponent as long as they are in his vicinity and not blocking. It has 0 recovery and if it stuns Goku gets a free attack, including a super meteo or a super ki blasts. Only real weakness is that alot of his normals don’t knockdown, so it’s harder for him to put his wake-up game to good use. Also slide kicks can go under his reversal with good timing.
Gohan - Very good. His small stature lets him avoid certain attacks. He has a slide kick normal which knocks down on hit and is safe on block. He has a reversal and the seeker ki ball. His reversal is only one hit though and knocks the enemy far back which kills his momentum. But it covers really good distance. He has a rapid fire ki attack which shoots three fast ki shots. This is good for close range pressure. He also has a dive kick that is safe on block and leaves him right next to his opponent on block with frame advantage. His rush punch special is very safe on block because Gohan dashes back after it’s over. It does quite a bit of stun and if one hit connects they all connect. His only weakness is that most of his physical specials don’t do chip damage. Only his punch rush does.
Piccolo - Good reaching normals. Dive kick is better then Gohans because he does his immediately when executed while Gohan freezes in the air for a split second. Has a good reversal because he stretches his arm out to grab his opponent an throw them. Double slide kick special is pretty good and safe but it will lose to slide kicks and a well spaced low if Piccolo doesn’t space correctly. Mental Shocker is similar to Goku’s Taiyoken but Mental shocker only hits directly in front of Piccolo. Mental Shocker has 0 recovery frames and also stuns opponents, but it knocks down first AND then puts the enemy into stun making it better then Taiyoken in this regard. Overall he is very good, but his pressure game isn’t as good as Goku and Gohans. He is still top though.
Trunks - He has an ok reversal. Range is deceptive but still not great and it knocks the opponent far back. His rush punch combo is unsafe on block. His slide kick leaves him at neutral on block but unsafe on hit and doesn’t knockdown. His super slide is awesome though. Very safe and knocks down on hit. It also covers alot of ground. Since Trunks is parallel to the ground when he slides he can easily avoid many attacks. He has the seeker ball as well and a low hitting ki blast as well. If his rush combo was safer as well as his normal slide kick he would have been top but he is still a solid character despite those flaws.
Bojack - As a character he isn’t even that good really IMO. But he has a few moves and traits that boost him up in the tiers. He has very high defense for one thing. So he can take a beating well which is a nice asset. He ahs the seeker ball which is good for wake-up traps. He also has a fast ki shot that can stun anyone in the game with two hits. Then he gets a free meteo or a super ki blast. And he actually has two meteos. One of them has him teleport into the air and do an overhead kick that’s safe on block for some decent damage. So at mid range this gives him some solid mix-ups between dash in and grab, overhead meteo, low hitting ki blast or another physical special he has that’s safe. He has trouble vs short characters and characters with slide kicks though.
Vegeta - Relies heavily on rushdown and train wreck momentum. His rush punch special crosses the opponent up at the end as he ends up on the other side of them. How safe it is depends on whether or not his opponent has charge and how well he spaced the attack. The attack can be blocked after the first 2 hits though. His dashing elbow crosses up first with a dash then he strikes with his elbow. The dash cross up is fast but Vegeta can be hit out of if he isn’t careful. Vegeta relies on these two moves mainly to put on pressure with his good normals backing him up. The dash elbow knocks his enemy really far away on hit which kills his momentum though which sucks. He has the seeker ball although in his case he uses the Kienzan energy disk. He also has rapid fire ki blasts which is great for mid range pressure. Since he relies so much on rushdown he is very vulnerable to reversals and he lacks a reversal himself which regulates him to mid tier.
Cell jr. - Meh. A worse Gohan really. Has some weird tricky specials that can catch you off guard with strange movements. One has him jump up then come back down where he came at angle. If an opponent is in his way they eat a dive kick. His other one has him do a sort of triangle jump then does a slide kick back to his starting point that knocks down. It’s really just gimmicks though. Has the seeker ki ball ( He uses a disk like Vegeta) and a reversal though which keeps this little guy in the game. His normal slide kick doesn’t knockdown but seems to give slight advantage on hit.
Broly- Pretty average but he has some cool stuff. His normal ki blasts are super fast so they are good for pressure. His throws CAN’T BE TECHED!! So Broly is a tick throwing machine. He has a reversal although it knocks his opponent far back. He has the rapid fire ki blasts too but since he is tall they will miss shorter characters. His machine gun kicks are unsafe on block and leave him wide open. His defense is super high. The highest in the game I think. He is a decent character. Nothing too crazy here.
Zangya - A lesser Trunks. Has some cool specials. One ends in an overhead kick another is an aerial rush combo that ends in her grounded slide kick but both are vulnerable to reversals/counter throws at different points. Her third special has her cross up with a slide kick then come back an elbow attack that knocks down. By far her best special, but it’s still vulnerable to attack like the other two. She has a slide kick normal that knocks down on hit which is good. She has a slow hitting ki blasts and a meteo similar to Bojacks’ She goes into the air and does a few overhead kicks that have great priority, but she doesn’t teleport like Bojack which makes her more vulnerable. She has some cool specials and some tricks but it’s not enough to get her out of mid tier.
Cell - Good range on his normals, but they are slow. Sliding Double kick is safe on block which is nice. Still he lacks a reversal and doesn’t have the seeker blasts either. He does have Taiyoken and rapid ki blasts giving him some options for pressure and for taking control of the fight. But overall his movelist is lacking the basic tools he needs to be a good character. He isn’t unplayable but there is really no reason to pick him.
I’ll do Hyper Dimension next.
Is Hyper Dimension a bad game? I thought it was pretty cool back in the day and it still looks awesome, really good sprites in that game… best on the SNES I’d say.
Hahaha.
I completely forgot about that. “Uwuwuwuaggghh!”, “Uwuwuwuwwaggggh!”.
Hyper dimension is actually amazing.
The thread title should really be changed to “Tier lists for shitty and/or obscure games”
Someone already do a tier list for that one N64 game, Mace?
Wait, I was thinking of Super Butouden 3 (http://ui11.gamefaqs.com/266/gfs_4427_2_1.jpg). Aw, well. In 2 I’d usually play Cell, too bad he seems kinda bad lol! Nice write up there!
Gundam Battle Assault 2
I was TRYING to read through this thread from the beginning till I got to this vastly inaccurate post lol. I’ve actually played this game competitively in the past, putting in many hours. My main was RX-78.
God Tier: Dark/Devil
High Tier: Heavyarms, RX-78, Epyon, Hydra, Psycho mkIII, Rose
Upper Mid-Tier: Neue Ziel, Burning/God, Quin Mantha, Sandrock
Mid Tier: Zeong, Master, Maxter, Full Armor ZZ, Bolt, Deathscythe, Wing Zero, Nu Gundam, Tallgeese III, Dragon, Zaku II-S, Hygogg
Lower Mid-Tier: Sazabi, Zaku II
Low Tier: GP02A, Altron, Acguy
Roll Tier: Ball, Big Zam
I totally agree, I played the piss out of RX-78, and although he has a few rough match-ups, it’s too easy to turn things around. Your idea of 3 grabs to kill is one way to look at it. Or if you get zoned a lot you still only need to get them to 2 bars and land 3 supers. Super chaining gets its damage reduced a decent amount but it’s still enough. Occasionally they can boost out but most of the time they still get swatted. Some matches I would do without supers though and RX-78 is still very competent and extremely versatile. His bnb are very good as well. Some matches he owns for absolutely free. coughbigzamcough Also I have yet to run into a Deathscythe that would leave me believe he’s better than mid tier.
Just wish they didn’t take Qubeley, The-O and Zeta out.
The game was actually reasonably balanced with a few major exceptions. The biggest thing though, is that this is NOT a shitty fighting game.
Save the Earth:
Top Tier - Space Godzilla
High Tier - Mothra, King Ghidorah
Mid Tier - Anguirus, Baragon, Destroyah, Gigan, Godzilla (90’s), Godzilla 2000, Jet Jaguar, Mechagodzilla 2, Mechagodzilla 3, Megaguirus, Megalon, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Orga, Rodan
Crap Tier - Moguera
Mecha-King Ghidorah might be High Tier, and Rodan might be Low Tier (still above Crap Tier though).
I agree with this but based on tiers meaning how good characters are when played at maximum potential, I think Vertigo is in mid-tier too. Diablo being mid or high tier depends on the version I think? The game only has 7 characters, and is actually quite balanced. I also liked this game, but I can see where I am biased for something, maybe it is shitty, maybe it isn’t.
More insight on Biofreaks? And anything on Brutal Paws of Fury?
