Alright I will join. Please keep in mind though that my tier are probably way off. Now since Im testing out Amy’s Heads Up! move she might move up. Bean could very well be better than Sonic, and after relooking at Knuckles chain he could very easily be better than Sonic. I’ll have to find some more Sonic players to truely see, since I suck with him.
And a big change now after playing more. (Still for Sonic the Fighters btw)
if you’re referring to Yu Yu Hakusho Final, the SNES fighter, then Hiei and Shigure were top tier. Shigure has a crazy full-screen length, no startup dashing slash with his bladed ring that makes no sense, and some sick frametraps. Hiei has a broken counter teleport that’s just plain silly.
i actually havent played the game in a while but from memory, Yusuke and Majin Yusuke were pretty high. Majin Yusuke’s air fb gave him Gouki style potential, and Yusuke’s Shotgun does really good cluster damage ( i.e. a fuckload of hits in one place that force you to block ).
while not approaching the godliness of the Treasure / Genesis Yu Yu Hakusho Makyo whatsit this is actually a good game…better than SNES Yu Yu 2 anyways…and definitely hella better than PS2 Yu Yu Dark Tournament… ::vomit:: >_<
I think Raizen is good too. His projectile can be dashed after or he could do fire punches after it. He can also jump in or do his D (charge) U special. strong mix up potential. Could also dash in for a quick grab. There is no high low mix ups in this game. Blocking low seems to block eerything. Mix-ups come in the forms of cross-ups and throw fakeouts. You can also dash cross up 3S style by dashing pass someone and then grabbing or attacking. But unlike 3S you can dash pass someone even if they aren’t knocked down on the floor.
man, after playing some more, just…wow this game is crazier than i thought O_o
Majin Yusuke seems to have some kind of ridiculous setup to land a series of untechable Rei-Guns in the corner, it’s lame that i really have no way of knowing if it’s truly untechable ( and YES you can air tech in this game, ground tech too…the system seems way ahead of its time ) but it’s something like cr.lk x3, cr.hk xx lp reigun, lp reigun, lp reigun, lp reigun ( maybe it’s character specific? )
i think Shura has a really good corner pseudo infinite in the form of close hk xx 63214+hk until you run out of meter, you can end it with something like his close hp or walk up throw
also his charge down 2 sec + up + K, when the explosion crosses up does craaaazy chip and blockstun
i’m REALLY tempted to start a thread over at Team Spooky about this since they seem to be the only real US-centric site that focuses on SNES fighters these days…
EDIT: i JUST now realized that the gauge next to your lifebar in Yuu Yuu Final ( not under, the little vertical one next to it ) determines when you can tech. You can only quick recover ground tech or air tech when it’s full ( by hitting both hard attacks ).
lol Tier List :Based on my experience and totally agreed with the one posted by Patrick Coffman and his FAQ (Altought its based on MAT2 version in wich the special attacks are done in different motions)
Upper Tier
Chaos
Talon
Mid tier
Diablo
Sauron
Armadon
Blizzard
Low Tier
Vertigo
Sometimes I think that Diablo can go up a spot due to his Hot Foot attack and Teleport wich can be spammed both, but again I have to test more.
Also anyone interested please visit that thread in this same forum!
4649: Yoko Kurama has a pseudo infinite too I belive. Using his Rose petal uppercut move repeatedly to juggle, while in the corner until you run out of Psy and then ending it with a move of your choice. Alot of chracters can do good stuff. I think tiering this game would actually be pretty tough. I think Yomi kind of sucks though.
I’d also put Dio (the plant) and Grinder (the robot) with Uppercut and Rotundo.
SLAUGHTER SPORT (aka Tongue of the Fatman, Mondu’s Fight Palace):
Top - Braniac/Robo Chic, Buff/Stump
Mid - Mondu, Weezil/Guano, Ramses/El Toro, MC Fire/Rex, Bonopart/Skinny, Spidra/Webra
Low - Sheba/Edwina
Mondu - Could go in the Top as well, as you can kill your opponent with one hit (actually a bounce). But because of his size makes him easy to hit, and the recovery time for his bounce is slow.
The magic spells were unique and innovative, and the bizarre characters designs were some of the 1st of their kind for a 2d fighter…
LOL, I had totally forgotten about Cosmic Carnage (probably for the best). Boy the 32X was starved for content.
What about the 3DO fighting games (other than ST, of course). I remember Way of the Warrior (shudders) and there was another similiar one Ican’t remember the name of.
Of subject I actually kinda enjoyed Supreme Warrior for 3DO, the 1st person FMV fighting game. Had a fun, cheezy, saturday morning kung-fu marathon feel.
