the game looks like one of those fighting games were who ever gets the infinite combo 1st wins. I dont know why that would be fun.
Because…infinites are not that prevalent in the game?
No one even has any infinites in NGBC besides the final boss character Goodman, who is not playable in the arcade and is banned from console tournaments.

IIRC, Ai and Mizuchi do. Ai’s is really fucking ridiculous and impractical, and Mizuchi’s is braindead, but banned.

World Heroes 1- Dragon infinite is like the best in the game-Stupid redizzy infinite to easy death
WH2 what I believe to be the top tier characters-Dragon and Ryoko. Ryoko is insanely overpowered with her Judo esque moves. They make Goro look like nothing. Frame advantage easy dizzies super good!!
Captain Kidd has to be high with his easy ass 50% combo. I would have to think Low tier Shura qualifies…he is not that great and extremely slow yuck!

In Double Dragon what about The Drunken Money guy with the Infinite combo?? Where does he fall?
In Ninja Masters guys I say Kasumi and Goemon are tops.
High Natsume qualifies. Yes you could argue almost everyone has something broken but I believe Kasumi and Goemon stand above all.
And in ROTD I agree Alice and Khang are tops above everyone else.
watch the combo video on youtube.com for ngbc they have infinites, but if they dont use them in tournaments, i guess thats fine.
This thread brings back memories of a lot of crappy fighting games, and the even crappier roster of fighters in those games.

Those combo videos you have seen and are referring to simply arent practical.
Let me juxtapose it for you-
If I were to take your POV then technically in ST everytime I see a KYSG video I would believe the game is broken.
Such is not the case. I play NGBC pretty hardcore and trust us when we say this, the game is not what you believe it to be…it aint SVC. Dont knock it till you try it.

I don’t remember there being a character who was particularly bad, true. Mauru is pretty beastly though.
I do remember burningfist saying Slash had some minor disadvantages against some characters, particularly Rai and Tesse. He just finds it hard to get in…

YES! OH GEEZUS, YES! Now where to begin. For several month I have been trying to think of a tier list, and I may be far off since I dont know how to perform two of Amy’s moves (edit: okay… I have to do them starting from using my barrier)… but bare with what I got please. I may be dead wrong. Sonic could very possibly be way lower than that. I will continue to check it out.
The list will probably change if I find good use for the Head’s Up now
Top List (as of 2/26/07)
Top Tier
Fang: Fast ranged attacks, which is hard to punish while at a distance as most characters. A master at grabs, good damage and set ups, when playing against new players his foot stomp can lead up to a tail throw which leads to a almost certain aerial smackdown. Has nice land chasing moves, some of which are projectiles so if you mess up it is harder to punish. He has moves that easily get him out of situtations that are nearly impossible for most other characters. More info coming soon.
Bark: Slow, but powerful. A decent Shield eater. Excellent grabs. Lacks the ability to crouch, which can leave him opponent for some grabs but since Barks range is so good it sometimes is hard to get that close. If Bark hits you and starts to follow up… it could mean most of your health. More info coming soon.
High Tier
Sonic: Turnaround and other moves make great mindgames. Good throws and an excellent shield eater. Has very nice juggling abilities and can land chase pretty easy. He can be a good rush down, but new players may find themselves setting themselves up to be grabbed. Still Sonic is a very strong and fast character. More info coming soon.
Knuckles: Decent speed, decent set up from grabs can start juggles that are fairly effective. Uppercut and rising uppercut are great set ups. Neutral jabs have strange properties. His normal grab can be stopped at certain points. The first point to stop at leaves you open for a small while but you can pull off crazy stuff from it. Stopping at the second is safe and still gives nice combo ability. Third and ending point is usually the safest, but probably the least effective. He is a rush down character and is quite good at what he does. More info coming soon.
Mid Tier
Bean: Nice projectiles that keep opponents away. The abilitiy to hit himself with his bomb and perform a quick land can help him start juggles at times. His best ability for upclose combat is his hyper mode, his it he can combo his way into a grab very easily, and with his grabs being so powerful it can make him fairly good. If characters can get close they can cause him problems, but they are gonna have quite a time getting there. More info coming soon.
Tails: A neutral that follows and does good damage. Fast attacks with little lag. Turnaround and other techs have great ability for mind games. Great throws. He has moves the easily get him out of situtations that are nearly impossible for most other characters. But all this almost seems meaningless at times, his lack of ability to space himself after many attacks leaves him in trouble and he lacks attack that knock the opponent into the air. Low Tier
Espio: Not many set ups for juggles. Laggy but powerful neutral that doesn’t follow well and cannot set up for other moves. Has a nice Down+Foward Punch move that is fast and helps him get in a powerful grab now and then but can still be punished. Pretty much his game play revolves around shield-dancing karate chopping and hoping that you can combo from it. More info coming soon.
Amy: Nice looking combos and fast set ups attacks that usually break shields if blocked. Decent grabs as well. But her attacks lack damage and her projectile is way too slow to be useful though in rare occasion can be comboed. She has an ability to come back from losing matches cause her falling attack is hella strong and comboable.
Giza, I beg you to please join my website and post Sonic the Fighters content. I love that game, but very few people I know will even play it. Thank you for posting tiers at the very least.
