Oh, I can definitely oblige for Survival Arts!
Top tier = Hiryuu
High = Viper, Tasha
Mid = Gunner
Low = the rest
Hiryuu has an invincible dash that he can cancel straight into his DP - press d/b,u+Short (as that version is safe against most characters). The dash can also cross up (even in the corner!), giving him an insane left/right mixup. Not only that, but he has the slowest-moving projectile ever, AND great anti-air with the DP and j.roundhouse - thus, once you toss a shuriken, the opponent is forced to just try to block you. He can walljump, and jump 5 or 6 times, and j.roundhouse is a good crossup for when they’re about to block a shuriken. He may even be able to use his dash as a reversal, I’m not sure. He beats everyone, period.
Viper is good mainly for his spin kicks (PP and KK). The KK is better in the air, as it can cross up and it hits on the way down, but the PP is way better on the ground. This move flies over low kicks and such, has priority over other pokes when spaced properly, and is safe. He also has a very good set of normals by this game’s standards. He is helped by stages with guns; every character has a long-ranged high/low with the gun (crouch shot, jump back shot), but Viper can cancel his shots into quick spin kicks to stay close and continue on offense. Can hold his own with anyone.
Tasha only has a few good moves - DP (highest priority, safe at the right range), j.fierce (almost unbeatable), and slide (safe at max range). She has no real bad matchups, not even Hiryuu - her DP can get out of his dash crossups and he can’t really beat j.fierce.
Gunner is a boring decent keepaway character - midair MP shot is nice (if it hits, follow up with roundhouse shot for chip), as is tiger knee’d air HP shot. He has a fighting chance vs. most everyone but completely dies to Hiryuu.
Hanna has one neat special which works kinda like Jax’s earthquake, but doesn’t need a charge and knocks down. Not much else though.
Many people who have played this game think Mongo is pretty cheap, as he is always the first opponent in 1P and he has some stuff that takes getting used to - mainly, a missile move that crosses up and can instant kill you by itself. Really though, he’s all gimmicks - it’s easy to hit him out of the missiles, and he can’t mix up sides with them either. If he had any decent normals, or any anti-air at all, he would be pretty good, but he doesn’t and isn’t.
Kane has a pretty good j.roundhouse. His rushes seem like good pokes/whiff punishers, but I’m not sure how safe they are. Nothing else interesting, really.
Santana has an 80% combo that you won’t get the chance to land. Again, j.roundhouse is very solid, as is low fierce for anti-air. hcf+P can punish Hiryuu’s DP for crazy damage, but he has so many other tools that you still lose this matchup.
All in all, a pretty funny game, glad to see someone bring it up! You can find some pretty good Japanese matches on Youtube - they don’t seem to know about Hiryuu’s dash cancel, but otherwise you’ll get a good idea of what I’m talking about here.
I dont understand how Shaq can be that low with his unstoppable projectile.
it has way too much startup. most people wont let you get it out.
where can i get more information about these techniques?
Does anyone know Masters of Teras Kasi? I recall Luke having some funny business with flying lightsaber, dunno much else.
I’m also interested, never even knew that game had a Versus mode.
Anybody have a Psychic Force 2010 Tier List?
All i really remember that Emilio was too good. Those crystals were broke.
Who remembers Fighter’s Destiny for the N64? And tiers?
WHAT!
Bump Mace Windu and Dooku up please. Only thing Anakin has over Windu is the lightning glitch. I’ve beaten my friends who use it with Windu.
Dooku should be top.
From my playing GA: the Duel
God: G-Axe (funny how only the boss can do combos that do 50% or more damage) :looney:
Top: Doc/Panchos/Death Adder
Mid: Kain/Keel/Milan/Gillius
Mid/Low: Green/Jamm
This is my psychic force tier list IMO: I copied and pasted this part from another thread.
Top- Wong, Emilio (Both are tied for the rank of number one)
Lower Top- Burn, Keith
High- Setsuna, Patty
Middle- Might, Gudeath, Carlos, Genshin, Regina
Low- Wendy
Bottom- Gates
That was for 2012. Psychic Froce 2010 is the first game. From what I remember about the game, the tiers aren’t really that different, except for the characters that don’t exist in the first game.
This is what the tier list for the first Psychic force would look like IMO
Top: Wong, Emilio
High: Keith, Burn
Mid: Brad, Sonia, Genma
Low:Wendy
Bottom: Gates
FYI- Brad = Gudeath, Sonia= Might, Genma = Genshin. This is true in terms of thier move lists and how they play. Except for a few minor changes. Brad is a middle weight while Gudeath is a heavy weight. Sonia’s Electrigger attack crossed the entire screen almost instantly. Also the 2012 characters have more moves then the characters they are replacing.
I would love to talk about teir lists and advanced gameplay mechanics, sadly this game isn’t very popular outside of Japan. I guess traditional fighting gamers don’t like the spin this game puts on the genre. BTW this isn’t even a shitty fighting game. It’s a very mindgame heavy fighter.
flying dragon was vagina but i liked groove on fight.
I used to play 2012 to death. I used to play Wendy and Emilio if i recall correctly. But i had no one to practice with so it seemed kinda point less.
I remember that IGN gave it a low score just BECAUSE it was such a mindgame heavy fighter and simply wouldn’t appeal to the masses because of the depth. Gamespot at least gave it credit because of that fact. That’s why I love it. There are so many variables in that game, and the battlefield is constantly shifting.
i was wondering why that shit didnt work in every arcade i went to
yeah he is easily tops in the early version just for that
and i got hit by rasputins homo super the first time i played the game online
i just had one of those wtf moments
I do. I’m guessing Master was up there but CPU Joker and Ushi gave me mad problems.
Does anybody have a tier list for Virtua Fighter 2 on the sega genesis? What about Alpha 2 on the SNES?
snes alpha 2 was decent. same tiers as arcade.
doa4 tier list:
top tier: reversals
bottom tier: gameplay, depth
