Tiers for non-fighting games?

I would move the Jazz up a bit. And move Wziards and the Nets down. And the Lakers should move down as well.

She doesn’t need to dmg them. Her buffing the party out is more sufficient at that juncture of the game, and you should get plenty of DMG from your summons and Enemy Skill list. The only limits worth mentioning by the time you leave Midgar is probably Meteorain, Seal Evil or her LV2, Big Shot, and Lunatic High if you have it.

So you are saying a move, in which makes EVERYTHING miss you, is not necessary?

Yet, you have to make sure the character has some bulky HP in order for it to mean anything. While White Wind is affected by the ATB, Free Megalixir is not. Free Megalixir>White Wind.

Ok, and Aerith can never go end-game. So that point is irrelevant to point out within itself, and we get stuck in the what-if game again. Her HP/MP limit would surely get replaced by W-Item Tricked Megalixirs, but you are under the impression that just because she has no ATKING limit that she is low tier. Anybody could do high DMG just by Mime spamming W-Summoned KOTR.

You have to understand that Aerith was not built as a ā€œattackingā€ type character, and there are other characters that do this well enough. But, there is no other characters in the game that can do the things that Aerith is capable of doing (at least, at certain points in the game). Interesting enough, the best endgame results in terms of dmg come from materia combos.

But the PG still has normal growths for materia IIRC, while most ultimate weapons have 0. Ultimate Weapons are not particularly good for getting Master Materias because nothing grows on them.

Hmm, I thought that if you didn’t go to the waterfall at Disc 2 for plot cameo then she doesn’t leave you the limit break and ultimate weapon on Disc 3? I dunno, it’s been forever since I played.

True, but the fact still stands. To reach their full potential, one must work at the task at hand.

Yuffie doesn’t need too. While you are sitting there trying to power up the death penalty, Yuffie is already making herself tremendously useful with her skills and attributes. Free Throw materia included (Coin anyone?). I’d rather a well built character than one gimmicky one that takes investment. The only thing one-hit kill is good for is raping Emerald Weapon, who is very much defeat-able without having to do the latter. Even if you left Vincent in your party all the way up until endgame, he still might not have enough kills.

This just goes back to point I made above. You are looking at the end of the tunnel, but not factoring the stones and steps in which it takes to get there. I’m not saying one hit kills are bad or anything, they are tremendously broken but only in certain situations. I am factoring those situations.

Vincent is a character that is virtually weak to a fault, and must depend on a glitch to prove his usefulness.

Not true. Enemy Skill has some of the best spells in the game and require no AP. Why do you think people try to learn Beta even before they get a Fire Ring? You generally want your highest magic users abusing powerful spells early in the game, because you will get the most DMG out of them. Barret, for example, is not a Magic User. So, he doesn’t require excessive materia setups unless you were facing bosses weak to some sort of particular element. Tifa, another example, is not a good Magic user. But, she has good luck which is good for dmging Deathblows. Red13, Cloud, Aerith, etc. are good Magic users that like linked slots and spacing. The deal is that you should be running Bolt 2 by the time you leave midgar, but you don’t want to give that to Barret because his magic stats start so low. He should focus on Independent materia and debuffs.

Again, you shouldn’t be using Aerith as an flat out attacker. I’m just saying that she CAN do it if the need is dire enough, which will never be in the hands of somebody who knows what they are doing.

The Jazz are solid but not good enough to beat some of the better elite teams the way they are. The Wizards are fun in 2K12, they have a bright future and John Wall can play. The Nets still have Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, that is a great PG/Center combo valued in this game. Lakers have one of the best players in the game and great bigs for pounding the glass.

But Lakers can stand against the other elite teams. They no bench. And Brook Lopez is starting to suck. I prefer him over Derrick Williams when the Nets had him. I agree with the rest of your points though.

Here are race tiers for Skyrim

S Tier

  • Breton - Best defensive race. Racial power with Atronach Stone means total magic resistance without using enchantments
  • Orc - Best offensive race. With Destruction Magic not scaling well in this game, weapons are way better for damage. The Orc racial provides stupid damage output. The only reason Bretons are slightly better is that the Orc racial blurs their vision a bit, which hurts a little bit

A Tier

  • Nord - Their racial power is rarely useful, but frost resistance is good for warrior builds since frost damage hits your stamina as well.
  • Dark Elf - Their fire aura is good early game. Even fire resistance is good, frost damage is way more common in this game than fire damage outside of dragon battles, even though some dragons use frost attacks

B Tier

  • Argonian - Disease resistance is pretty good, but their other racials are only meh at best. Underwater breathing is rarely useful and their increased regeneration power is dwarfed by potions and Restoration spells
  • High Elf - Their effective +50 magicka could easily be made moot by enchanting your gear to reduce spells costs, but that takes away enchantments that could be used elsewhere.
  • Redguard - Poison is rarely encountered in this game and is not much of a threat at higher levels anyway. Their racial power is only useful for 2-handed weapon builds since 2-handed weapons really only shine with power attacks

C Tier

  • Khajiit - No good racials, but their innate unarmed damage bonus is great if you like starting bar fights and is great fun if you want to play a Heavy Armor build that relies on the Fists of Steel perk. Lo how the mighty hath fallen
  • Wood Elf - The only good thing about this race is having two resistances. The animals they command get smacked down after the early game

ROFL Tier

  • Imperial - Joke race. Gold is so easy to get in this game and their racial power is easily replicated with the Calm spell line.

I have to stress that there is a huge power gap between the S Tier and every other tier.

High Tier:

Mid Tier:

Low Tier:

Well…unless Egyptians pick Isis as a starting God, then they’re high tier. But then Norse can just pick Thor and they’re top again, and…

Oh, it’s a complicated game. This is a general statistics tier list, the Gods they get really screw things around.

Anyone have a tier list for the Personas in Persona 2: Innocent Sin?

I picked Breton on day 1 because I thought they seemed to be the best. Looks like I was right :smokin:

Thanks by the way.

I think I’ll jump on this forum.

Final Fantasy Tactics jobs tiers (considering jobs and abilities together, any other format would change the list)

GOD TIER
Calculator (best skillset in the game, shitty everything else; yes, Math Skill is that overpowered)

TOP TIER
Wizard (highest MA in the game makes them awesome magic users, Magic Attack UP is fantastic)
Geomancer (they do everything well, equipment options are best in the game, Elemental means they can always do something, Attack Up is awesome)
Time Mage (Haste and Slow are borderline broken, Teleport is a top 2 movement skill, Short Charge and Meteor is hilarious in the early game)
Ninja (they kill things dead; fastest job in the game; Two Swords is very nice for physical builds)
Summoner (Summon Magic is versatile, powerful, and smart-targeting; other stats and abilities aren’t as good as Wizards, but skillset makes up for it)

HIGH
Oracle (sticks and Defense Up makes them the best physical attacking mages; Yin Yang Magic debilitates enemies like nothing else)
Priest (undisputed masters of support; Holy is one of the best attacking spells in the game, if only it didn’t cost so much)
Samurai (Draw Out and Blade Grasp are borderline broken; the class itself is mediocre, but abilities get it this high)
Dancer (debuffs are awesome; Slow Dance absolutely wrecks the game for free)

MID
Monk (nice physical attackers with good skillset; lack equipment and proper ranged attacks)
Mime (as good as the team you put around them; fantastic synergy with Dancers, Bards, and Summoners, among others)
Bard (stat buffs aren’t quite as good as debuffs; MP restoration is awesome in magic-heavy parties though; Move +3 is the other top 2 movement skill)
Chemist (instant healing and revival; guns make them not totally suck when everyone’s at full HP)
Lancer (powerful long range physical attacks; subpar equipment and the worst MA in the game, however)

LOW
Squire (equipment and Accumulate are all that’s keeping them from the bottom)
Thief (even worse than Squire; Steal Heart is their best option, and that’s a coinflip; Move +2 is nice, but better on almost any other job)
Archer (nice equipment; unfortunately low power and the worst skillset in the game)

BOTTOM
Mediator (Brave and Faith altering is nice, but only useful once; guns are cool, but not strong enough; their stats are god awful)
Knight (slow, no range, bad equipment before Knight swords, and special characters use those better; only redeemed by debuffs in the skillset)

Can’t wait to see some FFXIII-2 monster/role/paradigm tiers.

Best paradigm in the demo seems to be Diversity, IMO.

Dragon Age: Origins companion tier list (open for debate)

SPOILER WARNING***

SKIP NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T BEATEN DRAGON AGE

SPOILER WARNING***

Top tier:

Leliana with assassin as 2ndary class (buff as bard, that assassin’s debuff thingy then snipe away with marjolaine’s bow and switch to dual wielding when opponents get near)
Wynne with Arcane warrior as 2ndary class (heal buff + AW buffed sword = angry grandma),
Dog (I don’t care what people say…he’s THE tank of the game!); also the best person to proxy in your duel with Loghain (for the lolz…)
Loghain
Alistair
Morrigan - she has high magic attack but SUCKY base class; who cares about her shapeshift spells??? Her High Magic stat is the only thing keeping her from going mid.

Mid tier:

Sten
Oghren

Bottom tier:

Zevran - Leliana is 100x better than Zevran. From combat down to simple lock picking/trap disarming. The douche elf also tries to kill you (AGAIN) if you don’t talk to him AT ALL from the moment you hire him as a companion. His only redeeming factor is that I get to watch my PC make a decapitating hit on Zevran with my Dragonbone cleaver

NOTE:

  1. I am using a warrior wielding Chasind Great Maul, with Templar/Berserker as my class comboes.

  2. no DLC’s; otherwise I’d pick starfang/dragonbone cleaver/that axe you get in Awakening if Loghain becomes a [bleeep]

I have no idea why, but I used to love Monsters Inc Scream Arena. It’s not as if it’s a good game (A whopping 39/100 on Metacritic), but I personally spent over 50 or so hours on it.

Ok, I’d like to debate on this:

**Why the Dog is low tier: **He cannot equip any armor, accessories, and has a low attack range. Part of being a good tank is having good dexterity, but for the Dog it is generally a useless statistic over Alistair’s Shield Expertise which increases almost ALL of his shield attributes. The Dog in general doesn’t have good defensive builds over Shale/Alistair, and will always lose out to the Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage Tank. He’s a good early game companion to work around, but almost always get dropped when better characters come.

Why Loghain is NOT top tier: Loghain certainly has his uses, don’t get me wrong. But in order to get him, you must sacrifice Alistair who would have a superior build to his should he be trained. The only major difference is that Loghain might have a little bit more Willpower than the average Alistair build:

STR: 42 (to equip any weapon or armor you want)
DEX: MAX THIS!!!
WILL: IRRELEVANT
MAG: IRRELEVANT
CON: 20

Willpower is generally good for two handed warriors who are CONSTANTLY using stamina for hard blows. But, Loghain is not built as a two handed warrior (so his willpower investments seem wasted).

**Why Morrigan could end up better than Wynne: **Morrigan starts with better magic, debuffs, etc. than Wynne. The most dmging magic spells require heavy point invesment for Wynne to spend, while Morrigan can learn some of the best spells in the game faster. In general, if you make Morrigan a spirit healer (which most people do) she can still make an effective healer from group healing to curing injuries. In all, a well built Morrigan could possibly be better for the AW/BM Warden Tank/Attacker because of her all around talents.

**Why Wynne is horrible companion in terms of selection/choice freedom: **Wynne does NOT believe in anything that has to do with Blood Magic. This almost forces you to play the ā€œnice guyā€ role in order to remain on her good side, and almost always tries to reason with the very templars/chantry who despise on what Mages can truly become. Morrigan believes in what most players desire the most, power. There’s not much freedom of choices you can tinker with upon Wynne being in the Wardens party.

**Why Zervan is useful: **Lelly is BETTER than Zervan, but that does not mean Zervan is completely useless. He starts out actually better than Lelly and already comes with the Assassin spec (with decent dual wielding abilities for backstabs). Getting on Zervan’s good side can be accomplished by giving him Antivan gifts and agreeing on his Assassin-like approach in his stories. Before you know it, you will be in warmth 80 which is good enough to make him stick around. Other than the Warden, there is no better dual-wielding rogue/warrior built better than Zervan (Lelly can come really close, but he will still edge her out).

**Why Ogrhen is upper tier: **Ogrhen is generally a character who can be built many ways. He can tank, two-hand, has plently of CON to take blows, and has great starting stats. He provides some comic relief and is a very agreeable player who follows most of the Wardens views (without having to be forced into situations upon him leaving the party or turning traitor)
