Tier List (5 pos)

So, yesterday i discover that the Charriot//umblock combos are useless.

wth ?? If you wins with Urien agains Yun/Chun, you MUST say: I won, take this katana and commit harakiri.

(Obviously, i was joking with that that i said before about Urien and Sean… U_U)

New Tier list:

Chun in now officially #1, but Yun still takes the win against her

Poor Necro. :frowning:

Seems like they figure the Chun vs. Alex matchup is near unwinnable now for Alex. I remember the old list had Chun at a 7 advantage but now she’s at an 8 vs. him. Ibuki vs. Akuma seems dead even which I guess makes sense. He doesn’t allow her to take control of the air very well and has better low options than she does as he is a shoto. Yet…she stuns him in 2 combos so whatever. LOL.

Ibuki vs Akuma is much like Akuma mirror match. The match ends quickly whoever wins.

that isn’t new, it’s months old. The most recent “official” Japanese tier list is this one:

and SGGK made Yun vs Chun even, so now even Hong Kong cannot stop mainland China.
Considering the added up points, besides Chun Yun and Ken we have a really close group of the upper tier characters with Makoto, Dudley and Yang with really close scores, as is the high tier group of Gouki, Urien, Ryu and Oro rated at almost the same level.

Q stays low as always but in every subsequent tier list has gained some points, he’s almost at Remy level now and rapes Hugo, who sank really bad and is reaching Sean status (he actually IS sean status if you don’t count the direct matchup which still sees Hugo as a clear winner)

Mio’s Tier list
Top Tier
Yun
Chun-li

Upper Tier
Ken
Makoto
Yang
Ryu
Akuma

Middle Tier
Oro

Low Tier

-Q

Top-tier vs top-tier
-Chun
-Ken

Top-tier vs mid-tier
-Akuma
-Dudley
-Makoto

Top-tier when ur top-tier
-Yun

So according to this new tier list its Yun,Chun>Ken>>>>Everyone else>>>>sean. With the revelation of this new tier list would it even be accurate to refer to this game as even"somewhat balanced".

still cant believe that remy is BELOW alex

So basically the tiers are now

Best:
Chun
Yun

Good:
Ken
Makoto
Dudley
Yang

Characters you can still win with:
Akuma
Urien
Ryu
Oro
Elena
Ibuki

Characters you can still hang with:
Necro
Alex
Remy

Usable, but barely:
Q
Twelve

Practically unusable:
Hugo
Sean

Makes sense to me. I’ve been saying that people underestimate Q and Twelve and overrate Hugo for a couple years now. I don’t think Q v Hugo is 7-3, but he definitely wins it.

Edit: Obviously this game isn’t balanced, guys. Only like a dozen characters are really viable, and even among those, Chun, Yun, and Ken are still clearly on top.

lmao @ KYSG video.

Q has some really fucked up match-ups though, plus Hugo has a comeback factor that Q doesn’t. There’s no way Hugo has a worse time with Yun than Q does.

Hugo definitely has a harder time with Yun than Q does. Q against Yun without Genei Jin isn’t that far from even, it’s at worst 6-4; Q has several ways to deal with dive kicks, he’s mobile enough with dash punches so that he can escape situations, and he can still grab opportunities to deal damage. Whereas, Yun’s design naturally ruins Hugo, he’s all over him, and without a parry or a mistake by Yun, Hugo doesn’t have much chance.

That said, yeah, Q v Makoto should be listed as 1-9.

Man this new tier list makes mes sad…I think 3s just died today in my eyes. 3S is now known as th Chun-li and Yun show.

If anything’s sad it’s a perspective like that. The game itself hasn’t changed at all. Someone should make a placebo tier list for people like you. I don’t think a couple of shifted numbers will make a practical difference to anyone here.

I concur. Stop being a pussy ass bitch you god damn motherfucker. Less cry, more 3S!

Heh well if you just use the characters from Ken to Ibuki, it’s pretty even.

He’s like one under Alex. That doesn’t mean shit. If your character is one below another in a tier list…god knows you can’t complain. You have to drop a character somewhere on the tier list at some point. Just like Chun being above Yun doesn’t mean shit. A strong player of either character will rape you and Yun vs. Chun is an even matchup at this point. Similar level of winnable matchups. Apparently Remy fucking dies to Chun as well so I guess he doesn’t get much of an advantage over Alex matchup wise. They both suck. LOL, they’re playable but they both have a lot of things going against them.

3S is balanced enough where most characters can be played. Yet…it’s not like ST where the low tiers are actually good counters for some of the high tiered characters. It’s pretty much set that there is just a set of characters that dominate the game. Yet…other characters have solid options for dealing with them and combined with strong mind games can win matches. 3S is only solid to a certain point any ways. Once you learn the matchups it’s all the mind as traps and long term setups aren’t the norm. Especially in the US…there aren’t too many people that are real strong with characters outside of YCK so you really can just learn how to fight those three and do well with anyone in tourneys.

Well I think there is about 9 characters or so that are usable, but I dont know what the hell Capcom was thinking making Yun and Chun so powerful. So to review the tier list:
