I think I already posted about this but Iāll say it again.
Yatter1 is way too fast, has good mobility, and a lot of fucking damage to be considered anything lower than the āreally fucking goodā tier.

So, whatās everyone opinion about Roll? Seems like Capcom made her a joke character once again, well, not really a joke character, but in comparison to the rest of the cast, she is pretty weak, and that makes me kinda sad since I like her. Iāve noticed not really a good air-to ground game, her damage is not good unless you power up her broom which is something really hard to against characters like Zero or Yatterman-2, the loops she has doesnāt work on everyone, her range attack is terrible, she is very meter dependant, needs a good partner to actually do something in point, even V.Joe takes better advantage of the tiny hit box since he has more tools to use against others, and obviously, her low health makes all this worse.
But of course, this is just what Iāve seen from fighting and seeing Roll players who amybe arenāt that good, I could be wrong, thatās why I want the opinion of a experienced Roll player or someone who has fought good Roll players in here.
Whatās so good about her that doesnāt make her the weakest character of the game, aside from Gold Lightan? Becuase I really want to know.
Roll is actually a very annoying character when given a proper teammate. She can power up a total of 5 times by sweeping up puddles or fully power up if she super sweeps a puddle making her one of the strongest characters in the game. She has relaunch combos anywhere on screen. Can deal un-megacrashable damage. Has a projectile assist which leaves puddles to make it hard for your opponent to approach from the ground. Some characters have to drastically change their bnbās to fight her. She can heal herself and other mech characters. She is definitely not the worst character in the game and cant even be considered a joke in this game. With all that though she is still not an easy character due to how hard it is to actually power her up.
I would easily say Roll is a decent character. She does not suck but she is barely viable because of her height. I do think it is a pain for Blade to fight her and have to keep away a lot. She has her good points but they are not solid enough to get in matches a lot. Her health, damage and supers are okay.
I assume you guys have fought good Roll players, and maybe use Roll as well (althought I donāt remember seeing you using Roll, DevilChrist) so I can understand what you guys are trying to say, yeah, she is annoying to fight, and once she is powered up she is quite fearsome. As I said, is difficult to power her up against rushdown characters and maybe zoning too, so that makes her harder to use said move, her heal super can also heal the opponent (only the mecha opponents) so that also has a risk to use, specially when we consider that Zero or Tekkaman Blade (maybe, Iām not sure about Blade) can take advantage of that, who are characters that you can face pretty much in every tourney, but I guess there are good setups which are made for using the healing super correctly, and yeah I agree she has some good points but are not solid enough.
And I must be crazy to think this, but maybe there is no matchup in her favor, hell, she does pretty bad even against the giants, and I guess that hurts her a lot.
Iād also like to her the opinion of Roll players if thatās not much asking, being emptyShiki or yourmother in this case, and if there are others, then Iād want to hear them too, so I guess I just have to wait.
Well until they get around to posting I will say this, Empty and Yourmother both play proper roll teams so what they have to say will mean the most.
I main cashern and believe that is rolls best team. I will go over a few things that make her way better this time around.
Now that she can combo into launcher (One of the biggest buffs for any cast memeber) her uncrashable damage has gotten a huge buff. With cashern as you assist it is easy to gain space and get one or two puddle power upās if you work on a good pattern for it. Then you can charge up the broom and go on the attack.
Launcher into delayed air combo (J.A, J.A, J.B, slight delay J.B, Double Jump, slight delay J.B, delay J.C into charged broom sweep > Mashed to hell) is really good damage with two puddle power ups. Since you do not have to baroque to get the launcher, you now have it for more un crashable damage, baroque that sweep into A sweep mashed to hell, then call cashern and get another C sweep mashed to hell (while in Baroque mode) and then you can super if you have the 2 bars to DHC to casshern. With the puddle power upās and the abality to combo into launcher without baroque, she really did not lose much with OTG damage deing nerfed.
She is only limited by the fact that not many people partner āreally wellā with her. You have to have a real team chimstiry to make a roll team. She has a piss easy setup to heal cashern that is safe and deals damage to the opponet and is uncrashable once you hit the ground (duh right?)
I mean yeah she has really bad matchups by her self, but with the right team she is way better than say V.Joe on his best team. She is a great team player for those she teams well with, she just does not team well with many so I guess in that sense you could call her a āJoke.ā
Her runaway game is a little bad and her projectile game is little off at times, but her damage has gotten wayyyyyy better and she even gained a new partner (Frank West!!) You could not rank her below some of cast just based on the fact that she is so small and the combos (air combos mostly, some ground, but once she is in the air, it really is a much different combo) need to be adjusted to work on her. She has alot going for her and her partners, she just does not have many partners.
Id say her biggest weakness is her mobility. Slow startup on her Iad, slow/average speed on her n.jump, even with an assist her options and angles at which she can come in are limited/predictable.
Iād have to agree with lawrence! Because of the startup on her airdash, itās very easy to AA her! Zeroās 5A and 5C destroy her area of where she can IAD and Ryu can dash in 5A to stop her on reaction or just 6C, bbq into air combo! As long as you stay on the ground against her, you basically shut her down!
lol not to mention a lotta characters (ie batsu, yat1) can shut her down by just doing a simple dash forward launch when she jups.
I am sorry but maybe I am a little off in this⦠How are you going to say roll is bad in a 24 player cast and use examples of the top players, ie: Ryu, Batsu, Zero, Yatterman 1. We all know she is not as good as them, but the real question is can people like Polimar mash 5.A and beat out rollās Iad pressure?? What about Frank? Casshern? Jun? Joe?
He is talking about how to place her, so you have to use more realistic foes, people we do not know if they are better than, like OG Tekka or V-Joe.
All I am saying is that 5.A with Ryu is a really good AA against all cast members, so is Yatterman-1ās and Zeroās. And Yatter has the best dash launcher in the game, batsu has a great one also (Really Really good wave dash into launcher). All these players are High to top tier, so none of that really makes roll bad, they are just the things that make those players top.
How does her height make her barely viable >_____>

lol im sorry but you must have misunderstood my posts. I never said she was bad in a 24 player roster where, for example, top characters (ie ryu, batsu, yatterman-1, zero) make her completely unplayable. I am however, stating a weakness that she has and one reason why she isnāt as good as the said top characters (a statement that you had agreed with in your post). Yes, I may be stating the obvious. And yes, it may not have been related to the question asked, but they were statements related to her placement relative to other characters.
Now, if you would like me to give a counter-argument to my previous statements than here:
-Rollās powerup gives her damage output rivaling that of soukiās.
-Yes, while her approach may be predictable, J.C can still out prioritize a large amount of attacks.
-Her standing overhead gives her options; and can also be fairly tricky to go up against (which I believe is due to the perception that Rollās szie and the angle of the attack make it seem as though it couldnāt possible hit overhead.)
Oh and Jun can beat out rollās IAD pressure with both a IAD B (Which you do have to hit somewhat early in order to maximize the priority of the attack) luckily Jun has very little startup to her IAD and can still win out against rollās IAD j.c .
Secondly she can also dash-> Launch pretty successfully.
Cash can always Super Armer Knee-> taking the hit from Rollās J.c and using it to baroque.
Not certain on this one, but I would imagine V.Joeās 214B beats out the IAD. C.
roll has 2 playable teams, yatter or cashern, and maybe a couple other teams that kinda half work.
Her assist counter-picks alot of characters (not a hard counter, but makes things a lot harder), and is otherwise very good.
roll honestly kicks the ass of half the cast, when she can just spam j. c, but loses horribly to giants, karas, saki, doronjo, and zero basically godly ground game kills her. and goes even with most other characters, even if they can deal with the IAD c (noone owns it for free or anything) Ok you still have to deal with the rest of her annoying gameplan, and your gonna make a mistake eat a ton of uncrashable damage and either die or have to deal with a healed partner while roll recharges her health.
roll seriously kicks batsuās ass who isnāt even that good. Iad C all day with varying timings and assistās thrown in. cant do shit.
Her j.c is one of the best moves in the game. its annoying and dirty. with super jump and her air wavedash, she can be very difficult to catch and it is hard for alot of characters to get big damage on her. Her air to air game is also top tier, and her air to ground game can be near impossible to deal with at times without just trying to super jump away.
people donāt know how good she is since she is the most non-conventional character after the giants, because her goal isnāt to do damage, its to be annoying, and combo her annoying small bitchiness into killer Dhc, after getting a ton of insubstantial hits. and if they make a mistake or if you use an assist to catch them in a mixup after iad c you can get your big damage.
