im constanly getting thrown in online play…is there trick to avoid getting throw so much like a way you can tell its comming or something?

well if they have the time to throw you u could have done the same to them!
If you attempt to throw at about the same time as your enemy, it cancels it out and neither of you gets thrown. But there’s no special trick aside from reading your opponent and trying to guess when they’ll try to throw you.

Second of all this is a good technique. The problem is good players have ways around (counter-hit frame traps) this but you won’t need to worry about that yet.

what a load of asshats frequent these forums. so toxic. waaaah, fighting games are all mine, no one can play them but me, waaaaah. i hate being popular … waaaaaaaaah.
The only way to deal with it is to try and predict it, especially online. In offline play it becomes easier to tech a throw on reaction.
downback + LP +LK is good, but if you just mash it you can be punished for it. A safer way to do it is to try and time your LP + LK presses along with the hits of their combo. You can still be punished for this, but it’s not nearly as bad as just mashing.
You could also do a move with startup invincibility if you feel that you predict the throw coming… such as Shoryuken or something EX that is throw immune.
The thread that Overclocked posted is a very good place to start, don’t worry about his comment on searching first because if you are asking how to get around throws chances are you don’t understand the mechanics of the game and the lingo enough to run a search for “option select tech”

Good point. Sometimes i can’t help but be elitist about SF in general, but putting that to the way side is certainly tough. I.E. teaching new people the game without having my head explode

I find the most useful way to deal with slow spammers is to keep half sweeps distance away at all times and counter with your own throw. Throws used to be used as trump card or a decent way to set up your next set of combos or moves by jumping in and executing your moves. NOW it seems to be a cheap way to decrease the opponents bar. Keeping a distance and predicting the throw is coming takes time and a few of losses online.
IU had the same problem with the first game online and I just learned to keep my distance enough to cancel the opponents throw and dash in or out to punish them to catch them off guard and make em think twice about random throws.:devil:
