i am sry but if you go by that logic then cvs2 had no reason to be at evo either since marvel 2 was a team game and 3rd strike was in the street fighter slot. still all 3 was at evo plus other noncapcom games. still 2v2 is good for this game but for me i rather have 1 vs 1 since i don’t like the idea of teaming up with people in fighting game but that just me. usually i love team games but for a fighting game. i don’t really care for it. who knows tho i might change my mind after watching the evo tourney
2v2 is actually brilliant. 2v2 is inovative and makes trying to learn the game easier to swallow. Misery LOVES company. Evo fixed sfxt somehow.
This makes me happy. 2v2 SFxT is definitely better than 1v1. Whoever going to be Clanky D’s parnter, for the love of god put yourself on point.
more like finding that special partner with communication, trust and chemistry. lol
example; whose gonna make the cut to be poongko’s partner?
like fucking no one knows how poongko plays… in general.
i swear, even poongko himself doesn’t know how he plays.
I also look forward to it, mainly as its going to be intresting to see peoples team work but also that partner pop off when they loose or what ever. But i can say no doubt there will be 1v1 on side just to keep the single players pleased, but they most likely annouced this first as many, or shall i say majority of people said they wanted this in the first place.
People who are getting worked up over **2v2 **That was annouced 4 MONTHS before evo are just looking pretty silly right now, because they will annouce 1v1 in later date seeing as 1v1 is without a no doubt a standard thing in FGs. This was annouced first seeing as before release many people said they wanted to see 2v2 at evo including me.
Hopefully by next year, after all of the patches and character releases, the game will have evolved and people will find it more entertaining and take it more seriously. Right now to me, it seems like the game is being treated more as a spectacle rather than something competitive.
Keep telling yourself that, because once EVO rolls around and it’s 2v2 only I’ll make sure to tell you “You look real silly thinking there will be a 1v1 tournament”
 Well, I made some other points as well, but I certainly hope you at least enjoy the event even if it doesn’t change your mind. Being open to this kind of thing is good.
I’m disappointed to hear it’s 2v2, by announcing that it gives me a feeling they are sending a message that the game is a joke.
I actually like the game and enjoy playing it but this kind of puts me off putting much time into it especially if other tournaments follow EVO’s 2v2 format.
A silly format for a silly game. I like it.
I’m willing to give 2v2 a try. Though, I am sad that their is no flat out 1v1.
However, I’m horribly disappointed at the banning of gems.
The game is WAY to young to be outright banning subsections of the game. I’m not liking how a few people in a position of influence in the community have basically shut down a part of the game because they don’t like it. One of the major characteristics of the FGC is that you let shit fly and only flat out remove stuff after considerable analysis + time. (see HDR Akuma)
We haven’t even really given them a chance. The game IS balanced around them.Whole match-ups can change for some characters.
The EVO rule-set is the gold standard for many major/nationals out there when they look to forming rule formats. It is now highly unlikely we will ever see them in tournament play now for the remainder of the SXT life-cycle unless some major jazz goes down between individuals who have influence in the community as a whole.
If it is 2v2 i wont be mad nor will i feel bad/silly for saying there will be 1v1.
I don’t understand how anyone can ban Gems without even trying out the tournament patch.
You should still be able to enter the tournament without a partner. 2v1 would actually be interesting.
This is a very bad idea considering that SFxT is supposed to be one of Evo’s primary games. A 2v2 tournament would be great to watch, but it will compromise the competitive integrity of the game.
Hells yeah i would be down for that
Considering that this game is not tournament friendly at all (imo), at least they had the ideas for this, there is no other way because of the game’s nature, it will be interesting to see 2vs2 as the main format for the game.
As a spectator and someone who knowingly will just add money to the pot, I like the idea of 2v2 in the tournament to watch. That being said IMO the winner of the 2v2 will be no indication of who is actually better at this game. 2v2 is too random in this type of game, especially when you can trap a character and mash jab all day and get a huge combo. Still works despite them allowing you to block 2 attacks coming from both sides.
Still going to love watching it though.
This is pretty shit, if you ask me unless it allows for solo folks to play against teams. They just screwed a huge number of folks from going and playing it, myself included. It’s likely just to save time as well. If they want real 2v2, Gundam is a far better game for it.
I feel the same. Sure, if I still planned to travel for EVO this year, I’d be somewhat pissed, but as a spectator 2v2 is going to be ungodly hype to watch.
