The videos personally don’t make a difference to me really, whatever he said I’ll be doing more testing when the game is inside my xbox.

Yes I did looks Much faster… I also took note of how far that :h: mighty hurricane grabbed from. Looks like the old range.
But still nothing on Mighty Thunder…
I’m happy with the changes though…but maybe in Amazing Hyper Mighty Fantasic Super Uncanny New Dark Ultimate MvC3 they’ll actually change MT.

Alright guys, I got UMvC3 and recorded an 11 minute video showcasing some of Thor’s changes. If there’s anything you guys want to know, I probably put it in the video.
Notable notes:
- Increased hitstun allows for better combos, namely more combo followups after fully charged C Mighty Smash anywhere on screen. Allows Thor to perform solo 700K+ damaging combos!
- Fully charged Mighty Strikes almost come out as quickly as uncharged Mighty Strikes, but still retain super armor potential. Allows Thor to move in a lot more defensively. Also makes decent anti-air and useful in aerial XFC’ed Mighty Tornado before the last hit -> air dash down-forward~j.C~land~fully charged Mighty Strike on ground to possible floor bounce~Mighty Tornado = 1million+ damage
- Mighty Smash assist still creates floor bounce, but if not followed up quickly enough, opponent can tech out automatically and quickly. No more hard knockdown on the assist if floor bounce already used earlier in combo. (not mentioned in my video)
- General gameplay related note: If you lose your first character, you may press EITHER assist button to activate your assist character. This feature was formally in MvC2, but taken out of vanilla MvC3, but it’s now back in UMvC3!
Not much of a Thor player, but a friend of mine who has the guide discussed some of Thor’s changes.
-All Mighty Strikes charge 10 frames faster. H Mighty Smash charges 5 frames faster.
- Ground L Mighty Strike is still the same.
-Can’t OTG after Mighty Punish (Possible with a fast OTG assist maybe?) - Unmashed Mighty Tornado is the same damage as Vanilla. Fully mashed does 382,700 damage.

I’ve been messing around with XFC’ing Mighty Tornado on the ground in his new Mission #10. If you XFC it midway through the super, Thor will be slightly off the ground and considered jumping. Be careful how you follow up with fully charged Mighty Strikes!

Great vid RF, im excited about the buffs but i still feel somewhat disappointed that he didnt get some of the things that he needed (imo) like being able to follow up mighty punish, buffing mighty thunder and improving his options on the ground. Anyway we might be able to find more buffs once we see the full frame data for thor.
I still think that fully charged L mighty strike being punishable on block is retarded though.

Bro Hug man… Fa Serious. I do have a few questions though. I noticed almost all of your Mighty Strikes were done in the air, I was just wondering if the Ground versions were sped up at all or are any safer. Mostly Grounded Mighty strike :l: I only ask because Capcom mentioned that one being either safe on block or safer in general. Also after doing an air X factor Cancel after Mighty tornado is there any way to either Airdash Up Foward or Straight up in the corner and continue a combo or is it better to just Mighty strike into another Mighty tornado? Thank you Very Much for doing this man.
Edited to ask: Do all of his mighty Hurricane resets still work? Especially the mid screen ones I would think they would with the added range to MH. Also seeing as it appears that the M and H versions have the same range now I am guessing there is no reason to use the M version any longer.
Cap’s CS isn’t safe on block, and It’s a very viable tool for getting in. I don’t see why Thor’s “version” on the ground should be safe on block, especially when unlike Steve, he can do it in the air to make it safe, charge it for super armor, and frame trap with it. Seems fair to me with all thor changes.
That video just sent my hype meter through the roof, that s all I needed to see to get me hype on the Odinson. Also his Mighty Speech got buffed, now he has 2 speeches. YSOGODTHOR?
MH ranges got me so turned on, especially :l: and :h:, now I actually have even more tools for dealing with air approaches. I wonder what the priority on uncharged mighty strikes will be, as in can they be used as viable last second AA’s.
I played Thor casually in vanilla and he was terrible even as a casual character. But this time around he looks like he wants to start winning.
He was not terrible. He lackes many things, but he was not terrible. He really is advanced to use properly though. Don’t confuse that, because he’s not easy mode to use at all. Even with the buffs, he’ll still be difficult to use for casual players.
But us Thor mains…god, he’ll feel like a walk in the park by comparison to Vanilla self.
I picked up the guide tonight and I’m noticing not that many frame changes from the original guide. If you guys want me to post some frame data how do you want it to be and what do you want listed?
Yea, like I always said he’s amazing for heavy hitters, he has a lot more options against them. And landing a reset on them is hella easy, they attack too slow and are too fat. Count on him being my nemesis answer. I will still have my team alternate since all the Avengers don’t suck any more, the last character to be “revealed” is Tony.
