That ken did the correct thing Oni just outplayed em on that match, seriously when in doubt against oni gimmicky vortex just do dp on wake up kills 3 of his options left with 1, you’ll figure it out when you play em more.

Not an OS just a good guess, if you pause at 1:40 that F+mk would whiff even if Able did not backdash, maybe he was trying to os but the timing is off anyway.
This Akuma is sad man those typical run away fireball type -___- <— fits youhei’s icon perfectly
I don’t understand why an Akuma player would run from Oni. Vortex is like my penultimate weakness before Dhalsim/solid turtlers. :\
combo execution wasn’t bad but your fundimentals are really weak. You need to work on your spacing and use cross up slash less. It’s going to come back and bite you in the long run.

I have winnings on pure footsie games and spacing out my opponents but it ain’t nice to watch therefore did not bother to save it rofl. I’ll upload more in the future that was my old account tho. LIke you have said about spacing. I’ve already been bitten by it weeks back lolz, now I just turtle my opponents out.

Skip to 51minutes in. Combofiend picks Oni again. Gets knocked into losers but basically just chokes on a couple dps ftw. His footies are really solid he’s gotten 10x better than two weeks ago. One thing I noticed and it’s been passed around here a little bit is the idea of finishing lk.slash fadc combos with cr.mp > cr.hp xx whatever. I think had he done that it would have been the difference. Does anyone else use that to finish their punish combos?

That’s what all Oni player does on those footsies and if he had more solid punishment he might have a better chance, he seems uncertain on what combo to use. He whiff a couple of random lk slashes during footsies and also cr HK which is bad however luckily Combojack did not capitalize all of his punishable moments, especially on the HK cross slash block.
As for cr mp > cr hp xxx whatever is not good as a punish unless your opponent did some huge mistake like whiffing HP SRK etc, cr mp >> cr hp is only good for oki or cross-ups. Punish combo best would be just plain st hp/st mp >>> whatever or TC2/TC1 >>> whatever.

I have the same concept with this oni on attacks even combos are alike but 1:52 and 2:19 are something I need to learn from him…which is Kara Grab~ in practice. Good benchmark for me.
The punish combo wouldn’t start with cr.mp > cr.hp xx hk.tatsu (for example) it would end with it.
