@RaidenthaShocka, Dan is definitely more viable because of his safe dankyakus his gimicks works better than Oni slashes anytime. Most of Oni’s moves can be punished upon blocking while Dan can just do dankyakyus all day long to get in and to avoid pokes from opponent. Anyway not gonna put this on debate, there isn’t any match-up that favors Oni that Dan can’t do better, you want a absolute nightmare? try vs Dhalsim and Balrog you will know how good is Dan compared to Oni

, well played seriously, but I do think your opponent is a bit reserved and do not have AA reactions when you just jump in especially the air dashes. This is why people think that Oni is godly because they have no clue on the match-up, this gen did not even punish blocked Mk slash which is -8 for you that could be the turning point.
It does seem most of the time these “high level” vids are of the other player screwing up and failing to punish or defend adequately; there’s really no usable lesson to take from them other than “don’t get hit”.
Dankus and Slash are way different. Different applications. Oni has better normals faster walk speed and more damage all around. The only advantage in similar tools that Dan has is that he can fadc his dp on block where Oni can’t but then again it’s harder to safe jump a three frame dp vs a 4 frame reversal.
Lol safe jump, don’t feel like talking about that again until you’ve read all my post but than again I wont reply to this matter anymore, I don’t play ryu akuma or ken but I can 100% assure you I’ll destroy every Oni I see 80% of the time if I main them. I am done.
