Sherry has made great strides in her entrance in the FGC. She’s shown that she can “tough it out” with the guys, she also does relatively well in tournaments. I would say she’s far from an embarrassment. But eh you’re a wierdo
Well the discussion really isn’t about her, but she’s entirely vested in all the positive attention she gets from the “Top Players” around her. Her throwing Super_Yan under the bus for further positive attention is entirely in character… and terrible.
With all due respect, Sherry is a posing, bloat faced hoe who would let everyone bukakke all over her on that stream just to fit in with the boys. Of course its expected she would try to reason Aris actions.
Brilliant play on Capcom’s part. They found out saturating the genre with mediocre games wasn’t enough to sabotage the western fighting game scene, so they set up a “reality stream” to let it sabotage itself.
Well I’ll try not to be an insensitive stream monster and reall just be me and give input.
I dont judge this situation as one without fault or flaws, and I dont judge those in the situation compared to the “average” man.
Now, Aris lacks the empathy and the self control and overall his character has the very high potential of making others uncomfortable and having a feeling of being devalued.
Miranda seemed to lack boldness and the way she handled the bad situation she was put in was pretty selfish. (The whole Kor thing).
Because of the first sentence, I wont derail any of these individuals. Seeing as how the imperfect verbally slaying the imperfect makes no sense to me.
That’s my honest stance on this issue.

I’ve known people in similar (obviously not identical) situations, and that’s probably part of the reason I react to this the way I do.
The thing that people need to understand is that sexual harassment, by its nature, is hard to stand up to. You feel under pressure for the sake of your job (or the prize) and for how complaining might adversely effect your peers (missed goals, in this case hurting the chance of winning a sizable chunk of cash), and just social pressure to not rock the boat.
That’s the basis of how harassment works. Saying that she should have been more assertive betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the issue.
S’pose I should’ve clarified–no, sexual harassment is not okay, yes, it’s okay for you to tell Aris that (although people pointing this already-obvious fact out over and over on SRK isn’t actually going to affect anything). Everything else that this topic is about–“we don’t want the FGC to turn into SC,” “we don’t want the community to be perceived badly,” etc.–my post applies to.
