That. Was. Epic.
Nah, was annoying, turned off after 5 minutes.
Your video is amazing though.
2nd best DSP bashing on youtube right after op.
You mean how NOT to play it…
…That ‘day in the life’ video is frighteningly accurate. “AM I SUPPOSED TO RIDE THE BOAT TO SCHOOL!!!111ONE??”
“Slide to unlock? It’s not doing anything!!!1”, etc.
Also, I realize something funny in hindsight; a page or two back I joked about him joining Ice Road Truckers with his ‘hours of GTA experience’… and one of the recent videos shows him failing with a commercial truck in GTA.
Edit: Also, the Youtube comments are precious. Someone pointed out people like dsp are why games now assume the player is completely stupid and have the most insultingly obvious tutorials. Funny thing; these same tutorials are the ones he makes lewd jokes over and then later wonders how to do things the game tried to teach him. Does this mean said tutorials are basically a waste of development resources?
You know, I dont think DSP likes playing video games, and he is set on making people who play video games look bad. I mean, if you dont want to play a certain game, youre gonna be terrible at it even with your buddy giving you tips. HES BAD AT EVERYTHING!
Tutorials are fine, but that used to be the instruction booklets job, now kids dont want to read anything on paper so then companies put it on the screen in tiny letters in HD.
I hear that Beyond Two Souls differs from the previous 60$ movie in that you can’t even really fail the QTEs now.
… But DSP will find a way!
LOL!!! Holy shit at the stupidity.
You people love DSP. Admit it.
I love watching his pain and frustration.
I wonder if his parents know about this. I hope theyre alive too, I dont want him trying ot get sympathy for his behavior by saying he wasnt raised by loving parents. Its obvious they spoiled and cuddled him too much.
In the same way I “love” Troll 2 or Bride of the Monster.
“Dude, this mission is bugged too!?”
phil.
phil. Stop for a moment. Please understand (ah, there is that accursed word again) the deeper implications when one trots that accusation out for the millionth time.
He’s basically saying that every single time the game isn’t immediately intuitive to him, the QA team failed, or the programmers got the bug report on it but didn’t care, or the executives told them to not care; get it out the door on the release date unless this is a game-ruiner. Yet despite the ‘release now, patch later’ (or worse: release now, never patch) mentality some publishers clearly have… most of the game industry doesn’t work that way. Most publishers have an incentive to employ a decent QA team to catch most of the problems before release, because patching it later might cost them more than the original QA cycle did. For those not familiar with these teams, imagine a squad of people like Desk. Perhaps not as skilled as he is, but still pretty good at their craft. They are assigned to break the game then report back on how they did it, so programmers can reproduce it and understand the issue before fixing it. A good QA team is vital (a bad one will let stuff like one of the Worms games on XBLA go out as is when it had numerous game-crashing glitches). Almost every game ships with some bugs, but it is their job to make sure the worst of them are found and dealt with before you even get your hands on it. Most of the time, they succeed.
The vast majority of what phil finds and calls ‘a bug’, was no doubt spotted in QA well ahead of time and shrugged off because it wasn’t one; it was an obvious part of cause and effect to most people playing the game. To put it another way: Most of the time he cries ‘glitch!’, he’s insulting the testers and programmers by saying they failed to spot or fix the alleged problem. He’s basically calling them even dumber than he is!
Now to be fair, Fallout New Vegas is a Bethesda release. Bethesda open-world first person RPGs are virtually in competition with Rockstar sandbox games to see which ones can be the most buggy while still mostly working and being enjoyable. Let’s leave that aside in this case though, because the Mr. House quest is definitely working fine; I’ve played it and found it one of the most compelling events in New Vegas. How could phil just walk away, certain that leaving House there with control intact is sufficient? There is no narrative closure to that, nor does it make sense. Yes, House will die within a year as a result of the capsule being opened… but if Mr. House hurries, that’s still enough time to complete his plan and be remembered very fondly by history.
phil is being stupid. Again.
Edit: That ending is darling! Anyway, did want to toss up one other thing. The bit right before the ending, where dsp is confused by the quest notices, is mostly legitimate for once. For those who haven’t played New Vegas, that incident uses the quest system in very jarring ways. It suddenly adds several different quests, then automatically flags them as failed or succeeded moments later. The game is using these ‘dummy quests’ to track certain things that will affect the ending, but it’s not very clear to the player because this is one of the very few times New Vegas behaves that way. That one part isn’t a glitch, but rather a design flaw. The player sees things they’re supposed to do (after all, that’s what quests are!)… then immediately fails them despite having done nothing? Yeah, that’s very confusing. phil is still stupid though.

My turn to share a vid! Here’s a ‘deleted scene’ someone (not me) made for the “Day in the Life of dsp” feature:
Also, to belatedly respond to Part 4 of “dsp is a Scrub”: One of the user comments featured in this video notes he apparently threatened to attack a tournament organizer? If this is true, this would make about the third time (at least!) that dsp has popped off about fighting people. One of these days, someone is going to call his bluff. And it is most certainly a bluff whether dsp realizes it or not; does anyone here think he’d amount to much in a fight? He’s both out of shape and moves in a way that does not suggest he has any good fighting experience and/or training to make up for his poor health.
Sooner or later, that mouth of his is going to get him in trouble.
The thing is, he hasn’t been at a fighting game tournament in 2-3 years now. Doubt he would show up to another one.
You can consider this hearsay or not but DSP was brought up in a late night stream by Spooky hosting casuals and taking questions (I remember this because 3S was brought up and Min got super pissed at me in chat for saying that 3S had good balance). Spooky said that DSP shows up to tournaments/cons and all that because the organizers paid him to show up. This was way before the “Kojiima is a fag!” meltdown that began early this year.
I’m not necessarily saying it would happen at a fighting game tournament. In fact, I hope it doesn’t. We don’t need that. None of what I’ve said is encouragement to take a swing at him; that would be a terrible idea! Any responsible tournament organizer is going to respond to you (where ‘you’ is a theoretical player dumb enough to do this, not anyone specifically in this thread) doing that with A> A lifetime ban, B> A one-tournament ban, or C> A very clear warning that if this ever happens again then you are gone, period. Let me be absolutely clear on that: Taking him up on his bluster is not smart; you might put him in his place but you’d do so at the cost of your own ability to attend events, and that is not worth it. Not even for someone as annoying as dsp.
What I’m saying is that if this is how he acts, sooner or later this will happen in a general public situation. He’s likely to get into an argument with someone, they take offense to what he says… and then there’s a pretty good chance he’ll put up a ‘front’ about it. Things will go downhill from there.
Edit: Watching more of Part 4. Again, I am kind of sad. There are occasional moments where he actually is funny, or almost funny. The “What’s a dragon sheet? Inquiring minds want to know!” bit is actually a good line! He even let the joke go after just one or two hits of the punchline, so it remained funny. It’s a pity to see someone come so close to competence and then just throw it away in the end. Edit 2: …Like, throw it away 10 seconds later when he makes really bad comments about Makoto’s gender. Ugh. Also, why in the hell is he randomly using Makoto to entertain an audience? She’s a hard character to play properly!
Id just ask him how he feels about everyone HATING HIS GUTS, and the only reason people know about him is because hes a complete waste of flesh and resources. I mean its pathetic that the only reason hes known by most people is because hes a complete incompetent. I dont think he wants to ever get a job, but if he did then he wouldnt last there long. Would you want this guy working at say, a fast food place and people come in every day to troll him and the store, and then the manager will see his video compilations? Again, what do his parents think of this, or would think if they saw all this?
Pretty sure DSP’s parents might not be too fond of being called “fucking stupid”.

Listen to his parenting “advice”.
I hope his girlfriend is on the pill.
I don’t even know how this guy got a pretty nice looking chick anyways.
She’s got to have a man child fetish or some kind of father complex.
