This HUD... is the worst ever

I didn’t even realize that there were widespread complaints about the old one. I heard a few people say that it was hard to see X-Factor symbol/bar or whatnot, but why on Earth would that matter? Surely you know if your opponent has popped X-Factor already or not.

Or we could just not get riled over something so unbelievably trivial in the grand scheme of things.

The only real problem I have with it are the placements of :a1: and :a2: but playing the game for relatively small amount of time will get rid of the problem. It’s just something you get used to.

im confused…u say its trivial and then criticize it…where do u stand?

yup you are part of the problem

I can “get used to” anything…the point is you shouldnt have to “get used to” something that is a step backwards in design and bluntly, sucks

xD if u don’t agree wif me we u are teh problem~!

WE ARE TEH 99% WHO WANT DIFRENT HUD FUK U CAPCOM U SUK A BIG DEEK.

it’s fine. if you can get used to blazblue’s terrible HUD (meters, meters everywhere) you can get used to this just fine.

yes. it will take adjustment. yes. it’s stupid.

but it’s fine. it’s JUST a hud. i’d rather have a stupid layout that I have to get used to, then have magical pixel still in the game.

When I say it’s trivial but still criticize it my stance is that ‘It’s not perfect, but it’s really not that big of a deal.’ Don’t see how it’s confusing.

As far as I’m concerned it’s an unbelievably minor issue. I’m far more concerned with changes involving the gameplay like additional gameplay mechanics, balance changes to old characters and the additions of new characters.

I’m not arguing that one HUD is better than the other because quite frankly I don’t give a shit. Is accidentally calling the wrong assist a few times really worth multiple pages of discussion?

I got to play a little UMvC3 the other day, and on an HD screen it was hard for me to see life bars of the other characters. At home I don’t play on HDTV, and I’m hesitant on buying the game if it is worse than what i saw last night

boy wtf are you talking about

bb hud shits on umvc3 hud…at least the shit is organized…just cuz your too much of an ignoramus to know what they mean doesnt meant its poor design

i dont even know what to say here…

yeah ur right…its just the source of ALL OF THE INFORMATION of the match… no big deal

nice to see you can stay on topic

Tolerating inefficiency is whats wrong with this community, why settle for something that’s flat out stupid to begin with?

Because Marvel 3 is stupid and we’re playing it anyway? If we wanted a perfectly efficient Marvel game, we’d just man up and play Marvel 2?

Because Capcom’s heard the crying and isn’t gonna change shit about it?

I just think the new HUD is very ugly and obnoxious at this point.

First of all, the new X-Factor is a huge improvement. I could barely see the old one, and there was absolutely no way of telling what level of X-factor you had with it.

I don’t mind the change in order for health bars, but I hate how difficult it is to see your teammates’ and the opponent’s teammates health because they’re so dark and “hidden”.

Marvel was is made to have broken shit in it, that doesnt bother me at all it’s the act of making it difficult to manage your health and meter is whats getting to me.Like others have said this is something you learn in design school.

Most of you are acting like five year olds. Oh no, I need to adapt to something new! Oh no, I have the damn game early and the hud doesn’t fit my liking, woe is me!

Verdict : Why are you looking at the hud? You should be taking in the pleasure of eviscerating your opponent.

As if. Anyone who’s good enough to get accepted to design school wouldn’t ever submit anything as ass as the UMvC3 HUD.

Are you serious? Uh, people need to look at the HUD to see how much life they have, their opponent has, assist health etc etc. Why WOULDN"T you be looking at the HUD at various points throughout the match? I really hope you were just being sarcastic.

I do wonder what’s going on with Capcom lately. First SFxT and now this. I really just can’t believe that people thought those first cracks at the HUD was acceptable.

troll there twitter pages they will have to answer

Yeah definitely took a while to get used to calling the right assists but they did add the convenience of using either assist buttons to call your assist when you only have 2 characters left. So if I’m one character down, I can press any of the assist button and the same assist will come out.

Whats it take to look at their point characters health bar? .5 of a second? Remember their other characters health values if they are still alive. Your point is void, pay more attention to the match.

and… if you’re doing it right, you won’t lose health.

Really a lot of complaining going on over only a few small issues here. The HUD isn’t “complete” garbage, it’s just plagued with three or four bad design decisions that would be easy to fix. For example:

Beyond this, maybe tweak the colors on the Hyper gauge or add some kind of hard separator to keep information easier to keep track of at a glance. Also shrink that level indicator a tiny bit because it’s kiiiind of huge.

Otherwise it’s not the worst HUD fighting games have ever seen, and imo it’s a step in the right direction in some ways compared to Vanilla’s HUD.
