The easiest way to remember it is just your anchor is at the top now.
The other way I remember it is by looking at the letters. Long as you’re not playing on a CRT with standard red yellow white cables u should be able to see A1 and A2. If you wanna snap in their second character you press A1 and if you wanna snap in their second you press A2.
a little presence of mind and memorization of team order goes a long way.
HUD will take a little getting used to from Vanilla (besides not making much sense) but why in the hell would I gonna drop this game over a small issue that you can easily rectify with time and patience? I think the Vanilla HUD is definitely superior and I wish they would’ve just tacked on the big, red Xs on it and called it a day, but I’ll deal with it. not really a huge issue for me.
I don’t think this has been mentioned, but when you activate lvl 3 x-factor, the x-factor timer makes it sort of look like your assist characters are still alive but losing red health… it’s kind of confusing when you first see it.
Has nobody thought of just switching your assist buttons so that your assist 1 button calls the character on top and your assist 2 button calls the character on bottom?
Surprised no one else mentioned this, but this is the biggest problem with the HUD. The assist order is annoying as all hell, however not insurmountable, but those huge, pulsing, Dos Equis can and will throw a number of players off. Most players in vanilla knew if they still had X-Factor or not regardless.
Vanilla HUD was superior and they should make it DLC content.
I’m truly in disgust about the new HUD. It seems like when people were trying to suggest that X-Factor should look a little larger, Capcom blew it out of proportion. Not only did they make a HUGE freakin’ X in the middle of the screen, the Assists got flipped around, which is a problem for those who use the A-Button layout, and there’s an obnoxiously big number for the Hyper Bar.
This is not the way to tweak a HUD Capcom. Not at all. Sadfaic.jpg
Top character is always in Anchor position. Meaning A2.
The other one is the other one, therefore A1
Instead of thinking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd… just think Anchor position? or not?
It’s one of the ways I memorise things in my studies… else my brain would implode.
Switching the buttons for assists kinda works … but you’ll also have to get used to using ‘the other button’ in the case of calling assists, because that gets swapped around on the physical layout of your controller in this way.
At first, I kept getting the same problem with calling the wrong assist. I’m getting more used to it now, but I’m still making that mistake sometimes. In the heat of the match, sometimes you forget to pay attention to those things…
I get the assist complaining, but you guys honestly complain way too much. I see people in here complaining about the hyper meter colors being too similar. What are you guys? Numberblind? I don’t see what the big deal is with the colors looking too similar. Theres a giant fucking number next to the meter. In sf4, there is no number or color variation shown with having multiple ex/super meters, but it’s easy to distinguish because you can count the squares… similar to marvel where you can just look at the giant number.
I honestly can’t believe people in here are saying the hud is a deal breaker. Yeah it’s not the most logical assist order, but the new hod looks way better, and it’s not hard to adjust.
