We got X DLC, so it’s all good now.
This is certainly a historically awful UI, but it’s at least functional.
Most people don’t make passionate posts about things they don’t care about, but meh, ymmv.
EDIT: Triple 7’s post count on that one, mfers.
agree 1000%
I agree that this is is horrible. The order makes no damn sense and it’s hard to see assist’s healths, sometimes even hard to see their names. God i hope they give us the option to switch to the old HUD.
That’s how you chose to read it.
Even if they can’t implement the old life bar, I can’t imagine it’d be difficult to switch the order of the assists. Whoever approved that idea should be fired.
I dont want to see a huge flashing X, i want to see my life bars.
The assist switch is the most annoying. However, being a Rocket Raccoon main, It’s funny that the meter bar hides my traps
There is a thread for this? I figured the entire comunity would ‘Like’ the first post haha. I’d almost pay for some DLC to restore the MvC3 HUD. I’ve had so many issues with hard tags or keeping track of my teammates after a DHC
- :bluu:
Its not like its that nonsensical… The big picture is the point man and the other two are queued up behind the point…
You might as well say “Capcom did a pretty smart job on those life bars. There are three characters, and they have three life bars, what are you complaining about?”
I’m thinking about switching up my assist buttons, but I’m trying to think ahead and foresee any screw ups that could force. Only thing I can think of is that it would screw up DHC’s possibly if I’m not sure who’s on deck, but I tend to be able to keep track of that in my head, unlike the assists sometimes.
I didn’t even think of swapping my assist buttons. Totally not gonna do it now though. Now, I’m used to the new HUD.
Wow way to alter the tone of my post completely.
‘Capcom did a pretty smart job on those life bars.’ vs 'Its not like its that nonsensical’
My post is an acknowledgement of the logic behind their hud design, I haven’t commented on how effective I find it.
I know I exaggerated your tone a bit, but I was doing it to make the point that Capcom’s design really is totally nonsensical (I was also poking fun at your explanation as to why it wasn’t nonsensical, which was that it had a point character and two assists, which is kind of a bare minimum description of what it should be). But anyway, it’s absolutely totally nonsensical. It’s like if Madcatz were to release a fightstick where the input registered as left when you moved the stick to the right, and right when you moved the stick to the left. That’s exactly how it feels right now.
And of course, if you had to use a fightstick like that, of course you would probably eventually get used to that too, but it’d still be retarded.
I read all the hate before my copy arrived so I knew A1 was on the bottom; I haven’t had any problems getting used to it.
They do put A1 and A2 above the portrait boxes (though it’s hard to look at them while you’re playing yourself though).
I wish they’d bring back the vanilla HUD. I’m sure they will eventually…for $5 DLC.
throw me in the group that hates the new HUD, finds it confusing and still will not change my buttons. fuck that. they should change the HUD.
i’ll pay whatever for DLC HUD. take my money just get the assist order right. shit.
The numbers used in the hyper gauge clash with the rest of the aesthetic. As someone who majors in graphic design, I can safely say that mixing a sans serif font with whatever the hell that’s supposed to be was a fundamentally bad choice. It detracts from the clean, uniform look of the rest of the HUD. The old meter would have fit much better.
.
As far as I’m concerned, the new HUD can eat a dick.
