This HUD... is the worst ever

I finally got to play the game with the new HUD, and as I thought, it sucks. The order of the characters is probably the worst offense for me, and while I can use it correctly if I’m actively thinking about it, I still get confused occasionally. If they wanted to put more visual emphasis on the point character by moving it down, they should’ve just moved it to the bottom. That way the character order would be 3 2 1, which would be fairly intuitive. Why on earth is the point character in the middle? That makes no sense whatsoever. The only thing this 3 1 2 order is even remotely useful for is seeing what order your characters would end up in if you do a double DHC or TAC, but I’d rather have to think a little bit about a rarely occurring situation like that, than have to think to figure out what order characters are already in, just so I can press the correct button for a tag or snapback.

I’m glad there’s a thread on this subject. I am seriously annoyed by the order of the assists.

okay. so what are you gonna do when youre at a tournament or some offline event and youre playing against someone who insists on using the default? different HUD for each player? lol

(I know youre trolling but some people were seriously suggesting it)

You know when I read this the first time I just thought it was some typical complaining but, I really get confused in a match.
I’m calling the wrong person in /assist way too much
Is it:
3rd
1st
2nd

Game makes me feel like I’m visually impaired

I’m getting used to it, but I still fuck up sometimes. I can see my meters fine and I’m used to recognizing the color coding for the assist life.

But the order… goddamn, that order.

You hate it. I hate it. But we’ll adjust. Let it go folks.

It’s not that bad. It’s dumb, but it’s easy to adjust to if you can pick things up easily.

Only problem is it is unintuitive. After a day of play I’ve already adjusted to it. A stupid decision by the artist sure, but it’s not like it’s truly fucked up in displaying information.

lol its not the artist its the programmer.
im pretty sure the art didn’t require any particular order, just location. the group decided this would be more functional in the long run.

I don’t see why spend the time to change it though.

The artist on the other hand was trying to make them match up with how they appear at the start of the match, anchor above the point, 2nd below it.

Yeah that’s not even remotely close to the truth. Megaman has overshadowed every single character on both rosters by a huge margin in just about any place in the world questioned on roster choice. Fighting game fan or not.

Yeah thanks for rushing MVC3 out twice in one year.

As for the HUD, it is by far the absolute worst HUD in recent history.

Actually, it makes sense. i thought they were more lined up. i have to say its not nice, but its functional. you look fom center outward not up and down.
the designer intended for your eyes to start at the current characters portrait and work outwards.

Now that I have the game, I’m completely used to the new HUD. No problems whatsoever.

hud is fairly gay…but I will get used to it…been sending wrong assist n shii!

Well, I’m sure he’ll be included in Marvel vs Capcom 3: Street Fighter X Tekken Didn’t Sell As Well As We Had Hoped Edition.

Go play a Megaman game then.

whoever thought of putting the A2 lifebars ABOVE the fuckin point’s lifebar needs to be fired RIGHT FUCKIN NOW!
seriously what Kinda shit is that? I’ve used the wrong assist and snapped in the wrong character way too many times for this to be “ok”.

Who reads from bottom to top? I suppose whoever decide to put A2 above the lifebar does.

I see what you’re saying, but that’s a pretty ridiculous stretch, I can’t imagine anybody would actually do that naturally, and it’s incredibly hard to train yourself to do that when the bars themselves are displayed one on top of the other.

Just like telling it like it is, could give two shits about Megaman myself.
