This HUD... is the worst ever

Why change what isnt broken is my only complaint with the HUD.

my main prob isnt so much with the visuals of the HUD, more the way it is arranged. the order of assists is simply retarded. what logical explanation does capcom have for putting A2 at the top and A1 at the bottom. they should have just kept the arrangement the same as it was in vanilla.

funny how people are saying ‘get used to it’ like it isnt badly designed in the first place. if the numbers on the timer were all upside down or some crazy shit id like to see them defend that one as well.

I’m the opposite. I don’t mind the arrangement of the HUD because it’s not a huge deal to relearn, and after I relearn it the order would do nothing else to annoy me. I dislike that it’s change for change’s sake, but at least it doesn’t impede me. The main problem will be relearning snapbacks, since we don’t do those as much as basic assist calling and team switching and so we don’t relearn it as quickly.

The visual design on the other hand? You can’t really “get used to it” because it won’t become any easier to see after practice. I still have no idea how Capcom dropped the ball this badly. It’s like they got the same guy who designed the original rainbow healthbars for Street Fighter X Tekken (At least we didn’t get those monstrosities in addition to all this).

@Everyone complaining about stuff like X-factor or Megaman…
This is a thread about the *HUD’s *problems, not about how Capcom shot your dog and ate your babies.

The bonus for having mvc3 vanilla should be the option for the old HUD. The new one is so bad, really. I’d call assists when they have like no health because I couldn’t tell how much health they had. and the life bars are too fat n shit.

On that note, orginal MvC had a better win screen and win song.

Yeah - it’s thanks to the Mega Man fans that I don’t take the suggestion thing seriously anymore.

Maybe I shouldn’t have taken it seriously in the first place, but now it’s just ridiculous. I don’t see why mods don’t at least start banning accounts, seeing as it clearly said in the rules to look for similar topics before making your own.

Whatever, just another showcase of why Mega Man fans are bringing the hate on themselves.

The new HUD is another way of casualizing the game. Don’t let players see exactly what is going on so there’s always that little bit of random/unsureness.

I’ve tagged out to the wrong character at least 10 times just today.

I love the game but something really needs to be done about this HUD, switch A1 and A2 at the very least.

Old HUD will be DLC in a month for 8.95. Trust.

after actually playing with the new hud… It’s even worse than I thought it was gonna be!

How did they let this be in the final version of the game!!!

This HUD goes against just about every rule you learn in intro human factor psyc (learning how to make things accessible/intuitive to people). : /

Translation: Someone at capcom needs to be fired for this PoS.

/end rant

You know what? This makes perfect sense and I don’t doubt it one bit.

Pretty much yeah. At least that’s the way it is in my opinion. I don’t like the character, that is currently on point, to be in the middle but it doesn’t really bother me like the flipping of assists does.

Been playing since Friday. Took me all of an hour to get used to it and I havent called the wrong assist or tag out since.

I can’t even see how much health my assists have left, lol. Probably the only reason I haven’t been calling the wrong assists is because I’ve memorized my team order.

Probably old habits but looking at the top for my assist 1 and thinking that thats “my guy” that i need and then calling out the wrong assist at the wrong time in the wrong place then hearing my pals give me a look and says “YOU DUN GOOFED MOTHER F***ER” and whats really hurts is that I actually couldn’t find a problem with the old HUD that stood out like a sore thumb. Ram for HUD really capcom…really? You wanted my money ya got it, just send a short fix for the HuD.

Having actually played the game now, I don’t mind the assist order. However the other characters life bar could be a bit brighter. Other than that I am fine.

actually… i like the HUD

I can see another memory issue with the new HUD, players’ crappy memory, yet they can remember 21564 hits long combos… Oo
Deal with it bub!
Oh and if you dont know how much life your assists have left, it’s no big deal! In this game a bnb is 75% life taken away ~ Dead Character, you just need to remember that!
XD

Just like I thought, I had to swap my assist buttons to get used to the new assist positions on the HUD.

Honestly man, I’d pay 40 more bucks for the vanilla hud.
