This explains everything

Yes, that is mine. What is yours?

Also, at least this way we can be sure hold back press fierce, fish high then low to crouching medium works in this version.

If I’m honest, I think the greed factor for Capcom shines through again. Yeah it was $15 which true enough is not alot to spend, but it is an old game. It should have been $10 just like the MK Retro pack. Knowing Capcom, there’s no way they’re giving anyone a deal, not gonna happen.

i dont know much about current gen game prices, but i would have paid 60$ had this game be actually arcade perfect with no bugs.

but im sure im one of the only people in america who is in that boat.

I can understand that, I love 3S too, it’s a special game to me and will always be my favorite fighter. I just don’t understand why Capcom would release the title with so many issues. I have yet to be able to search for high level replays or upload a vid to Youtube. True enough the youtube thing matters little to me, as my replays are for self analysis purposes. However, don’t release a title with functionalities that just flat out do not work.

i bring you news straight from the source.

ULTIMATE SF3sOE. for another $15 dollars you will be able to get new colors, edit your own colors, fei long and bison will be included. For sure it will be arcade perfect this time, it was our mistake to even consider it last time.

trashcan sounds

comes out in 2 weeks get those xbl points and psn points to get it

much love
copcom

we listen and we serve

Yep. if it was actually arcade perfect yes. throw in a full fleshed out training mode and shiiiiiiiiiiit.

TOO BAD SO SAD. Maybe they’ll throw us some kind of bone. hell if they put the old hud, old sound, old music and fixed twelve and urien and shit id buy it if they sold it even.

yes the trashcans. i guess its the fire sound? cause ex hadou (ryu) is fuckled sounding also. not quite so laughable though.

Floe, you’re not a 3S player. Move along.

It’s not about a sense of entitlement. It’s about the fact that Capcom released a product with more problems than what we had originally. PC GGPO 3S played just as well as 3SOE if both people had decent connections and weren’t millions of miles away. And you know what else? It was arcade perfect. You know why? Because it was the arcade ROM. No changes made. AT ALL. You could even insert coins. Sure you computer could add a little input lag. That wasn’t the game’s fault. The end result was that the game played the way it was supposed to, and local play was the bee’s knees.

So don’t talk about how we’re just bitching for the sake of bitching. GGPO 3S’s biggest issues were Rollbacks (typical) and black bars. This game has Rollbacks, terrible HUD, missing the arcade music (Arcade perfect, huh?), and a shitty online system for an online game. Local play is still good, though. D:

Microsoft told everyone to up arcade games to 15 dollars late 2008. It was Braid that started it, MS wanted to see if people would buy games at that price and we gobbled it up, so they told everyone to make that the standard.

Sony up’d it since it was working so well for XBLA, and when they made “Playstation PLUS” they decided discount everything to the old standard of 10 dollars.

This quote sums up why you fucked up .

3S on GGPO was becoming a joke in the latest build. Throw techs were not working, blocking resets was becoming impossible, and hit confirms were three times more difficult than they should of been. Also the fact that PC emulation has more inherent input delay than 3SOE, so yes it’s arcade perfect in its aesthetics but it has input delay so it’s not really arcade perfect. The only bonus really was that GGPo had text chat and was full of players who played the game daily for years, where as 3sOE is mostly players who don’t know what they’re doing.

I’m still wondering about his neck

like tebbo said it was prolly a budget and scheduling issue that led to 3S getting released with buggy matchmaking and some gameplay bugs that weren’t in PS2/arcade version. can’t blame floe

I’m sick of all this critical thinking and rational thought! This is just what Floe wants! We can’t let him get away with this! BURN FLOE! BURN HIM NOW!!

You can’t blame Floe directly. But he played the game and didn’t call out on the issues. So…

BURN THE NON-BELIEVER!! Wait… I find myself in a moral conundrum. You’re agreeing but disagreed as well…

BURN THE NON-BELIEVER!!

You know this is a joke BUT I wouldn’t put it past capcom to do this lol DON’T GIVE THEM ANY IDEAS.

“Yes, Mr. Ono-san, it seems they want Fei-Rong”

To me it sounds Floe was there really early in development when everything was still at the conceptual stage.

We need to find the players who were involved near the end when everything was implemented and yell at them for not noticing sounds not playing offline and HUD super bars being smaller.

That’s fine. I just personally would have preferred another 3S hardcore/top player working alongside you. Especially when it comes to something as important as making sure the game is arcade perfect. I’d like to know if you were still around when they did things like screw around with the look of the health meters and super bars. The way you make things sound you weren’t even around when they did stuff like the 16 man tourney which is pretty shitty to hear in general. Especially since you were the main guy working on the arcade perfection of the only for you to not be around when a whole nother set of people are just doing things.

The only thing I didn’t know about you is whether or not you actually cared about the game competitively or just kinda dabbled in it between the other games you liked better (that was kind of the deal for quite a few of the top SF players that ran around in 3S during its console time). I personally would have something more robust for teaching people the game than the challenge trials especially when when it was mentioned during the previews that they would be doing a lot to make sure people get initiated in the game. With a 12 year old game there’s a lot of ways to add stuff like that in but it seems they went with the lazy approach on that. Of course people can just run through videos on the internet and stuff but it would have been great to see something more interactive for the game that could fill a similar purpose.

I noticed the hud bars being smaller the first time I saw a preview of the game. Unfortunately I’m just not picky enough of an old man to make a big deal about it like I know other people would have. A top ST player would have been running up and down about even little shit like that but it was only after the game came out that people like ryan were more vocal about it. I was figuring they would at least have an option to switch back to the original HUD but yeah. I probably took a bit too much for granted in general since they said they were putting more money and time into this than any other re-release. Not that I was expecting the world but I was definitely expecting better overall myself.

The couple things they got pretty good for the game IMO is the GGPO on a good connection works great and the game is definitely more arcade perfect if you don’t count the HUD and the sound effect issues than the PS2 version. Still a way to go though before this game stops feeling rushed just as a product.
