I havenât tried it with my FC4, but by the looks of it I believe that this is the switch that will work.
It looks like you need to remove the original switch and extend the 3 original points to this new switch. I wanted to try it but itâs a pain to remove the original switch from the PCB.
You technically donât really need to remove the original switch. Since the switch has 2 positions: ânot connectedâ and âconnectedâ, you can leave the stock switch in the ânot-connectedâ position, solder your new switch to the points underneath between the two points that would be âconnectedâ when moving the original slider-switch.
Keep a note that, while the stock slider-switch has 3 solder points, only 2 of them are actually useful.
You are 100% correct. I extended 3, and 1 to a dpdt switch that was already installed on my case and I did not have to remove the original switch from the PCB. I only used a dpdt switch because I currently donât have any other kind and like I said, this was already mounted on the case.
It is finally a fully functional quad-mod and both switches have a purpose now Good way to start a week.
Hi guys. I tried cutting the Xrd padâs PCB for a padhack, but I ended up having problems with connecting the USB wire. When I plug it into my computer, it does not detect any controller. There doesnât seem to be any USB malfunction either. I also checked the controller before cutting it down and it was connecting fine before.
Could somebody please help me with some pointers to troubleshooting the problem? I have a multimeter and have also took some pictures of the work from different angles.
Yeah the labeling is flipped around, whether â1â on that sw. is a logic low/high idk I didnât measure. No knock on the pinouts the information @Gummo provides makes it so much easier for the rest of us. Shoutouts to @poisonmar for dpdt suggestion and his feedback.
Please put me on. I know a way around a soldering iron, but not really with this technical stuff. Iâm just relatively good with soldering and following directions. What is this high/low stuff that is talked about in the OP for the HFC4? I already have a ps3/360 stick. Also have an xbone stick. Iâd want to add ps4 functionality to it. I donât need the pad to ever be in ps3 mode. What do I do? From reading, I have to make the pad be âheld highâ? No idea what that means.
EDIT : Also, IMP switches canât be used for these? The sticks I have absolutely cannot be drilled into under any circumstances!
Donât worry about the voltage on the switches. Since youâre not removing them, just put the pad in PS4 mode and glue it in place. Yes it can be used with imp as can all USB devices.
Itâs the same answer, just do the regular padhack to it, though if youâre using the TE PCB itâll be easier to wire the buttons from the FC4 to the button distribution board rather than to where those buttons connect to on the TEâs actual PCB.
