No, the PS4 side should not work like that.
On that we can agree. I did some more testing with a free app that monitors controller inputs just to be sure of some things. When I press P4 (L1), I get a correct āButton 7ā input, but as soon as I release it I get a report of āAxis 5 - Low.ā Same goes for K3 (R2) - āButton 8ā followed by āAxis 6 - Low.ā I can only assume that those buttons are sending two different inputs simultaneously.
I flipped the top switch and changed the L1/L2 buttons to L3/R3 and those reported correctly (Buttons 11 and 12) with no analog signals coming in afterwards. That would lead me to believe that my wiring for L1/L2 is correct.
Iām connecting the FC4 to a Crossbone TE2 and a PS360+. Iāve only wired up the ground signal from the USB header on the FC4. I canāt see a reason why it would cause this problem, but do I need to connect any of the other ground signals (there are ground signals where the L1/L2, R1/R2, and Dpad daughter boards connect)?
Edit with more info: Borrowed a Windows laptop to eliminate the possibility of this being a weird OS X problem. The good news is that Iām getting consistent results. Bad news is that the problem doesnāt go away. Grabbed some screenshots from windows to show the button statuses: imgur.com/a/Xlo0u.
Iām going to keep poking at this, but man am I confused.
L2 and R2 register as 7/8 and as an axis. This is normal. If you test a ds4 pad on pc youād see the same result.
That gg pad strip looks tiny. What sort of measurments is it? Might fit in a psx pad.
Has there been any new 3rd party controllers Iām just curious. Its a pain ordering these hori pads sometimes haha
Iām picking up two of the FC4s from AmiAmi and I was thinking of just gutting it and trying to make a custom stick with it. Does that seem feasible with the board it has? I saw the pictures but Iām new at this so Iām not really sure about it all. ^^;
quoted the image because itās relevant
@Gummo, do you know the marking and/or purpose of that IC on the bottom left? Hard to read the silk marking from this image.
Dat security chip yo
Gonna have another pad we can add to the list soon. That is, if this isnāt screwed up and un-padhackable like the last PDP pad.
Iāve been putting off buying a FC4 in hopes of a suitable pad available in domestically in the US, really hoping that one fits the bill.
Hey guys awesome news here hehehehe.
We can now get this in the us easier. And save some bones
If I wanted to use a toggle switch, like the one linked below, how would I wire that up?
Anyone have a guide to stripping/pulling up and moving slide-switches like the FC4 has? I donāt want to accidently rip out something important. Iām about 90% positive that Iāll use that for PS4 padhack. Iām still waiting to see if the PDP pads are going to be decent for padhacking. The issues Iām more frequently encountering with madcatz pcbs are bringing into question if Iād even want to use a newgen fightpad from them, should they announce/release before Evo.
anyone get their hands on the PDP MKX pad yet?
Assuming you mean for dual mod purposes, you need dual pole-dual throw (DPDT), that is single pole-single throw (SPST). You use the DPDT to toggle between the D+ and D- lines of each pcb.
It only been 3 days since its been out, give it some time.
Idk if itās out yet. The store I preordered it from now says they wonāt be there til the 8th. Another store says they wonāt have them until the 14th.
Amazon sent me and email saying it was delayed for another week or so.
I was about to ask the same question but slightly differentā¦ if you want to use this rocker switch to only change from PS3 to PS4 using the Hori FC4ā¦ is possible to use it, right?
If so, how should it be wired?
I havenāt personally padhacked a FC4 at this point, so I couldnāt tell you for certain.
