Third party PS4 padhack options

Edit: Nvm, I found my own answer.

How the PDP MKX Fightpad for PS4 responds when connected to a PC?

I intend to padhack it and will buy it from a guy. I pretend to test it on the spot to see if itā€™s okay. When connected to a PC, what exactly happens? I will see it in Devices and printers?

Yes

Thank you.

So, nothing unusual. It will connect like a generic USB controller?

Yes

Make sure to use diodes if youā€™re dual modding

Thanks again, Vicko.

Iā€™ve tried searching and not found the answer yet despite the question being asked multiple times:

Does anyone know if the new PS4 Hori Fighting Commander pad pcb common ground?

Hmm.

Maybe?

Thank you, much appreciated. Do you also happen to know if it requires any special treatment for hacking, such as the addition of diodes?

Iā€™d prefer to use these pad pcbā€™s at the moment because sadly a lot of my clients are put off by the thought of having to update the Brook pcb every time thereā€™s a Sony PS4 update. Iā€™ve tried reasoning with them but to no avail, and Iā€™m not in a position to turn down the funds. Sighā€¦

My bad. I take that back. Hori does not have the PS3/4/PC FC pad listed on their US site, so I assumed you were talking about the ā€œoldā€ FC4. I checked the JP site and see that they do have a new model.

The new model has been out for a couple of months now but Iā€™m having a real hard time chasing down info on it, they are much cheaper than the FC4 Pro so Iā€™d really like to know.

I donā€™t have a PS4 to test on hand, so I am trying the PS4 mode of a FC4 padhack on PC. Are the R2/L2 supposed to trigger the X and Y rotation also? I assume this doesnā€™t affect anything when I eventually plug this on PS4ā€™s?

probably, itā€™s like with a few other controllers

if I was padhacking an fc4 into an ilder hori/madcatz case would I be able to use any of those switches to toggle between ps4 and ps3? sorry for the noob question but Iā€™ve never done anything like this and really wanna try it cause it seems fun.

Yes, you could use the dp-ls switch and so it selects system for you. Just need to run the signal line from the switch on the fc4 (#1 pin) to the ls point on the turbo panel pcb. The turbo panel would need to have gnd too (it should assuming youā€™re setting up home button etc.)

thanks dude. also, is there a video on how to do this? cause that would be more helpful, socially since I actually donā€™t feel confident about this. last question, is there a thread that lists everything you need for padhacking and building the stick? like cables, switches etc. thanks in advance.

Check twitch.tv/k0ldx past broadcasts, i think heā€™s done it.

Make sure you put a diode on the switch signal otherwise youā€™ll be stuck in LS.

Hey guys I have a quick question on a PS4 MKX Padhack

I had an old Hori Real Arcade Pro 3SA for ps3 that the dogs chewed the USB cord off of and I never revived it, it was dual modded with a DPDT switch and an XBOX360 MadCatz Fightpad, which always worked fantastic.

Last week I opened up the MKX pad and removed everything, while also de soldering the XBOX360 pcb and putting that away. I also removed the DPDT switch. I removed the USE cord from the Hori HRAP PCB because I did not plan to use that pcb anymore, and only to use it as a bridge to solder to the buttons.

My question is, I now have the MKX Pad fully installed and the PS4 will not recognize it. My multimeter shows all button presses on the stick are registering on the MKX PCB, even the home button (wired to the select button on the stick) yet when the PS4 says ā€œPress the PS button on your controller to beginā€ nothing works. When plugged into the computer the computer will install a driver called ā€œMKX for PS4 Fightpad Needs Updateā€ which you cannot update, and my computer continually makes the ding noises it makes when you plug in a new UCB device.

If the HORI pcb isnt even powered, do I still need the diodes? Does the ps3/ps4 switch from the pad need to be installed? I even reinstalled that switch and set it to ps4 (I dont ever plan on using it for any other system) and it still did nothing.

Thanks for your help.

Needs power and needs diodes
