You buy the converter for the convenience and easier install
You Pad hack/dual-mod for reliability (assuming the workmanship of the mod is up to snuff)
both are easy to wire up, brook releases updates if they get patched out some how, but reliability is there with both of themā¦ the fc4 pad hack is a piece of cake and the brook pcb is really straight forward and saves a lot of space since its less than 2 sq inches
The converter and the brook PCB will both have the same update-breaking issue if and when any system update breaks compatibility. They were able to update both pieces in 48 hours so it will be temporary.
Hi guys, I came across this new revision of the Fighting Commander thatās much cheaper (at $30) than the FC4. Does anyone plan to buy and try its PCB soon? Iām building my first stick and hoping to find an easy and cheap PS4 PCB. Right now the Brook fightboard seems like the way to go but this FC is even cheaper.
the brook is a much better option for $10 more, you get the option of having a touchpad button as well as autodetect for ps3/4. Plus, no scraping or whatever.
Brook pcb is awesome. Pretty much the best ps4 pcb option now. Only negative aspect to it is the potential of a ps4 firmware update causing issues. However, Brook has been very fast at getting a fixed firmware for the pcb out.
I have a 3d printer, but it has given me so many issues that I most likely wouldnāt be able to get anything useful printed out.
I have heard from a good authority on the subject that Hori Fighting Stick Mini is common ground.
SOCD? For most retail sticks and controllers, like out of a Hori or mad Catz product the board is never SOCD compliant.
SOCD was not an issue till someone just have to use a Hit Box with the vanilla Marvel vs Capcom 3, its more a flaw with the game than anything else.
A Single joystick (example a Sanwa JLF) on its own canāt take advantage of SOCD, a stick/controller with an additional left or right inputs can take advantage of the flaw, as well as any standard game pad with both a d-pad and analog sticks (I.E. the standard Dual Shock 3, Standard MS Xbox 360 game pad, ectā¦)
A Typical arcade stick controller does not need SOCD filltering as in its stock form, it canāt take advantage of it. The same can be said for digital game pads such as a SNES game pad and most fight pads.
There games that need the opposing directionals working for the game and SOCD filtering would break such as DDR, Pop Nā Music ectā¦
Other alternatives include get a separate SOCD board or build your own SOCD circuit.
There is a guide somewhere on the forums that show how to make a SOCD filtering circuit with off the shelf parts.
It work with any Common ground board. The advantages is itās hardware driven instead of a software (hardware driven is more solid) and you can choose your priority as you are building the circuit.
The thread on that
The other advantage is it does not matter what the Controller PCB or the converter can or can not do as there a hardware filter preventing this at the source of the input.
Hello. A friend of mine is going to padhack my stick using the Xrd pad but he says that he needs a detailed wiring diagram. Can somebody help me please? Sorry for my bad english
